My gf and I thought we really liked this place but it turned out they weren’t telling us that my girlfriends cat had really red gums until the last visit there! They put it in the notes back when the cat got spayed then failed to tell us but said your cat is healthy nothing to worry about even though the notes said otherwise! 4 months later we went back and a new vet told us my girlfriends cat has serve red gums and it was in the notes! Very sad about this! Also the one time my gf and I go there and this only happened once but it was so unprofessional and so uncalled for! One of the secretaries was not nice to us! She was saying my gf needed to sign papers that she already did but she was too lazy to look in the files! Instead was very rude to my gf and I! Never again will I be back here!

Welcome to Camboro Veterinary Hospital: Hummel Ivy DVM
As a prominent establishment within the "Pet Hospital" category, Camboro Veterinary Hospital: Hummel Ivy DVM serves the Edinboro, PA community at 5989 Rte 6N, Edinboro, PA 16412, USA. Accessible via phone at (814) 734-1628 or mobile at +1 814-734-1628, this veterinary care facility aims to provide a range of services designed to address the health and well-being of local pets.
While specific details regarding the interior aesthetics and waiting room comfort are not explicitly detailed in available information, a professional veterinary hospital typically strives to create an environment that is both welcoming for pet owners and calming for their animal companions. This often includes clean, well-lit spaces, dedicated examination rooms, and areas for various medical procedures. The design usually considers factors like noise reduction and secure handling areas to minimize stress for animals during their visit. Given the nature of veterinary care, a well-maintained and hygienic environment is paramount to prevent the spread of illnesses and ensure the safety of both patients and staff.
As a comprehensive pet hospital, Camboro Veterinary Hospital: Hummel Ivy DVM is expected to offer a broad spectrum of veterinary services, typical of a full-service animal care facility. These services generally encompass:
- Preventative Care: This includes routine wellness exams, vaccinations tailored to a pet's lifestyle and risk factors, parasite prevention (fleas, ticks, heartworm), and nutritional counseling to maintain optimal health. Regular check-ups are crucial for early detection of potential health issues.
- Diagnostic Services: Modern veterinary medicine relies heavily on accurate diagnostics. This would likely include in-house laboratory capabilities for blood work (CBC, chemistry panels), urinalysis, fecal examinations, and cytology. Imaging services such as X-rays are also standard for diagnosing orthopedic issues, organ abnormalities, and foreign bodies. Some facilities may also offer ultrasound services for more detailed soft tissue imaging.
- Surgical Procedures: Common surgical services offered by pet hospitals range from routine spaying and neutering to more complex soft tissue surgeries, such as tumor removals or corrective procedures. Pre-surgical blood work and careful anesthetic monitoring are typically part of a comprehensive surgical protocol to ensure patient safety.
- Dental Care: Oral health is a significant component of a pet's overall well-being. Services would likely include professional dental cleanings (scaling and polishing), extractions of diseased teeth, and guidance on at-home dental hygiene.
- Pharmacy Services: An on-site pharmacy allows for immediate access to necessary medications, including antibiotics, pain relievers, anti-inflammatories, and specialized prescriptions.
- Emergency and Urgent Care: While the reviews mention a potential disadvantage in an emergency due to location, a pet hospital generally provides care for urgent situations during their operating hours. This could include treating injuries, sudden illnesses, or toxic ingestions.
- Microchipping: A vital service for pet identification and recovery if a pet becomes lost.
Based on customer feedback, several features stand out regarding Camboro Veterinary Hospital:
- Caring and Compassionate Staff: Multiple reviews highlight the dedication of the staff, describing them as "amazing," "caring doctors who listen and address all your concerns," and "tech who care for your pets with compassion and simply love for animals." This suggests a team that genuinely prioritizes animal welfare and shows empathy towards both pets and their owners.
- Direct Doctor Communication during COVID-19: A notable feature, particularly during the pandemic, was the doctor calling pet owners while they waited outside during examinations. This direct communication allowed owners to talk to the veterinarian just as they would in an in-office visit, demonstrating adaptability and a commitment to maintaining client engagement despite operational adjustments. This reflects a proactive approach to client communication and a desire to keep owners informed.
- Professionalism (with some noted exceptions): While one review pointed out an instance of unprofessionalism from a secretary, other feedback generally suggests a high level of professionalism in the medical care provided. The emphasis on direct communication and attentive doctors indicates a commitment to professional veterinary practice.
For potential new clients, Camboro Veterinary Hospital: Hummel Ivy DVM would likely emphasize its commitment to compassionate and comprehensive pet care. Promotional materials might highlight the experienced veterinary team, the range of services offered, and the personalized attention given to each animal. The positive feedback regarding the caring nature of the doctors and technicians would be a strong selling point, reassuring pet owners that their companions will be in good hands.
However, it is also important for potential clients to consider all aspects of the feedback. The reported issue with delayed communication regarding a pet's health condition, specifically the red gums, is a point of concern. While the hospital aims for transparency and thoroughness, this instance suggests that communication protocols could be further refined to ensure all pertinent health information is conveyed to owners promptly and clearly. Similarly, the isolated incident of unprofessional administrative staff, while perhaps not representative of the overall experience, is something that a new client might weigh. The perceived disadvantage in emergency situations due to location, as mentioned by a reviewer, is another practical consideration for pet owners, especially those living farther away, when choosing a primary veterinary care provider.
Ultimately, Camboro Veterinary Hospital: Hummel Ivy DVM appears to be a facility that prides itself on its dedicated and compassionate medical team, offering a wide array of veterinary services. Prospective clients are encouraged to consider both the strong positive testimonials about the quality of care and the areas where past experiences suggest room for improvement in communication and administrative interactions, to make an informed decision for their pet's healthcare needs.

Jul 13, 2023 · Lindsey CarmodyThis place is the best. The only con? It's not closer to home and could be a disadvantage in an emergency. The staff is amazing. Caring doctors who listen and address all your concerns. Tech who care for your pets with compassion and simply love for animals. Their adjustments during covid have been understandable. I love the fact the doctor calls you (while you wait outside) when they are examining your pet! You can talk to them directly just like an office visit. Top notch all the way around!
