Califon Animal Hospital Introduce

Looking for a pet hospital near you? Califon Animal Hospital, located at 421 County Rd 513 in Califon, NJ, offers veterinary care for your beloved pets. They can be reached at (908) 832-7523 or +1 908-832-7523.

What can you expect from Califon Animal Hospital? Reviews from pet owners provide mixed perspectives. One long-term customer shared their positive experience of receiving "outstanding veterinary care" for 15 years. They specifically expressed gratitude for the "compassion and comfort" provided to their beloved dog Ella and to themselves during her end-of-life care, acknowledging Dr. Sal, Dr. Martin, Vet Tech Renee, and the entire team.

However, another customer expressed significant concerns about the pricing at Califon Animal Hospital, stating that it is "Extremely over priced." This reviewer mentioned consistently high bills, ranging between $200 and $300 per visit, and noted that similar treatments at another vet cost less than half. They also described being charged $100 for a regular visit due to "tiered pricing," which they felt was unwarranted for a non-emergency situation. This customer expressed the feeling of being "taken advantage of" and did not perceive the care to be superior to justify the higher costs.

Based on these reviews, Califon Animal Hospital appears to be a place where some pet owners have experienced compassionate and high-quality care, particularly in sensitive situations like end-of-life support. However, potential clients should be aware of feedback indicating potentially higher pricing compared to other veterinary options in the area.

This place is Extremely over priced. Every-time I have brought my pet there, my bill is between $2-300. I used to bring her to Glen Manor vet and my bill was less than half for the same treatment. Today, I was charged $100 just for the visit because I was told it was based on tiered pricing. This was not an emergency. I take her to the vet every few months, and I feel that I am being taken advantage of. I don’t feel the care there is any better than other places and have nerve charging these prices.

Our pets have always received loving care from this practice. Most recently our two new puppies! Dr. Sal is caring and takes time to remind us about puppies stages and overall health of the dogs. Highly recommend CAH!

My 4 month old Bernese Mountain Dog suddenly started vomiting repeatedly. I called Califon Animal Hospital and was told to bring her in immediately. Dr. MaryBeth determined that she had a blockage in her small intestine. Instead of operating immediately, since the puppy wasn’t in distress, she decided to see if the obstruction would move on its own. She gave her barium mixed with food. Nine hours later she expelled a 13 inch toy! I was so grateful that Drs. MaryBeth and Jeff both took the route of least resistance first and didn’t think surgery was the only option!!! I have been a client for over 20 years and trust their judgement completely.

We just moved to this area acouple months ago and ofcourse one of our dogs wasn't feeling well and I had to find a veterinarian close by. I called on a Saturday and told the receptionist the issue and she told me to bring my dog in for 10am. When I got there the office was super clean. Everyone that worked there was so friendly! We saw Dr. Martin and I can't say enough nice things about her. She is so compassionate and funny and puts you & your pet at ease. I am so thankful for her help! We found our new veterinarian!!! Thank you so much Dr.Martin and all the wonderful women that work there. You made a stressful visit extremely pleasant!👍❤❤ Karen &Gigi🐺
