Bushwick Veterinary Center

I'm a first time dog owner and was looking for a neighborhood vet. There were all sorts of options in North Brooklyn, but Bushwick Vet was highly recommended by other pet owners and I see why. Setting up my appointment was easy. The folks at the front desk were proactive in confirming dates and requesting documents. Once I got there with my pup, the place was clean and nice. The vet staff were knowledgeable and expertly handled my pup during her examination. The follow up was great too. It turned out my pup had a parasite and needed some medication. The staff answered all my questions and made treatment super simple. Overall, if you're looking for a long-term vet for your pet, this is a great place to do so. 5 stars!

If I can give them 10stars of course... I will!! I'm so impressed with this place! The vets are incredibly skilled and efficient. They quickly diagnosed my pet's condition and provided excellent treatment. The staff is friendly and the clinic is always clean and organized.

I took my dog, Fang, here since he was a puppy. When Dr. T was the only vet, he was thorough and always kind to Fang. Once additional doctors came in, the level of care drastically changed. Last year, we took Fang to the Bushwick Vet over bladder issues he was having multiple times with no answers and more tests needing to be done (sometimes just repeating the same tests for whatever reason with the same results that told us nothing). There was no communication between the vets on best course of actions and one of the doctors just kept dismissing our concerns. Fang ended up having a rare prostate cancer and it was too late by the time he was diagnosed by a doctor we saw in Park Slope. I’m not one to ask “what if”, but I do believe if they had communicated with each otherand not just performing the same tests on him/dismissing him, we may have had a fighting chance. Once we got confirmation of his cancer and called to let Bushwick Vet know + ask for advice, they hadn’t called us back or checked in with us at all. Fang sadly passed away in September and the vet he’s seen since he was a puppy truly let us down. *Editing to say that the front desk staff has always been kind and helpful. I don’t think it should fall on them on how much this vet center let us down.

Very very happy with how the staff were with my Nova. Nova is a husky that gets very nervous at vet offices, and she hates strangers touching her. They worked really patiently with her and she ended up liking them a lot from what I could tell. The staff were also very upfront with all of the costs, and didnt pressure me at all. Definitely coming back!

We brought my cat in urgently last week and the staff and vet could not have been more kind. My cat is still mad about the collar, but it’s helping. :-)
