As new customer I wasn’t really crazy about them taking my dog back to do stuff with her while I just sat in the waiting room, I then call because my dog which is on 15 weeks old fell of the porch and after 2 hours couldn’t put weight on her front paw. Call them and tell them what happened to get a response “we don’t see anyone after 12 on Tuesday and I can get you in at 3:30 tomorrow.”! At this point I remember Allen reviews in here. I take my puppy to another vet 5 minutes from me in the other direction within 10 minutes of of calling “Burgaw animal Hospital”. Thankfully I did this since my puppy has some broken bones. Burgaw animal hospital has seen the last of me and my money.

Welcome to Burgaw Veterinary Hospital
This introduction addresses Burgaw Veterinary Hospital, a pet hospital located at 1255 US-117, Burgaw, NC 28425, USA. They can be contacted at (910) 259-8686 or their mobile number +1 910-259-8686. Operating as a "Pet Hospital," Burgaw Veterinary Hospital likely provides a range of medical and preventative care for animals in the Burgaw, NC, area.
Information regarding the specific environment of Burgaw Veterinary Hospital is somewhat limited in the provided reviews. One positive review mentions feeling "at home immediately" upon visiting the facility, suggesting a welcoming and comfortable atmosphere. However, the other review, detailing a negative initial experience, does not provide any insight into the clinic's ambiance or physical layout. Therefore, a comprehensive description of the clinic's environment cannot be definitively constructed based solely on this information, although one account suggests a positive initial impression.
The services offered at Burgaw Veterinary Hospital likely encompass general veterinary care for pets. The positive review from a new resident seeking a vet for their "furbaby" implies that the hospital offers routine check-ups and general wellness care. However, a significant concern regarding emergency care is raised in the negative review. When a 15-week-old puppy fell off a porch and could not put weight on its paw, a call to Burgaw Veterinary Hospital allegedly resulted in a refusal to see the puppy until the following day due to their policy of not seeing appointments after 12 pm on Tuesdays. This perceived lack of immediate care for a potentially urgent situation led the owner to seek treatment at another veterinary clinic, where the puppy was diagnosed with broken bones. This incident raises questions about the hospital's availability for urgent or emergency cases during certain hours.
Several features of Burgaw Veterinary Hospital emerge from the customer reviews, presenting a stark contrast in experiences. One positive feature, as noted by a new client, is the welcoming and comfortable atmosphere that made them feel "at home immediately." Additionally, this reviewer felt their pet was treated with "such care," indicating a compassionate and attentive staff. This positive initial experience suggests that the hospital can create a favorable impression and provide caring service.
However, a significant negative feature highlighted in the other review concerns the hospital's policies regarding patient interaction during initial consultations and their availability for urgent care situations. The reviewer expressed discomfort with their dog being taken to the back for procedures while they waited in the waiting room, indicating a potential lack of transparency or a practice that does not align with all owners' preferences for being present during their pet's examination. More critically, the alleged refusal to see a puppy with a potential injury for over 24 hours due to their appointment policy raises serious concerns about their responsiveness to urgent medical needs, at least during certain times. This could be a significant factor for local users to consider, especially those with young or potentially vulnerable pets.
No specific promotional information or special offers for local users are mentioned in the provided reviews. Therefore, it is not possible to include any details about current promotions or discounts that Burgaw Veterinary Hospital might be offering.
Given the drastically different experiences shared in the reviews, local users in Burgaw, NC, considering Burgaw Veterinary Hospital should carefully weigh the positive feedback regarding a welcoming environment and caring treatment against the serious concerns raised about emergency care availability and the practice of taking pets to the back for procedures without the owner present during initial consultations. The stark contrast suggests that individual experiences may vary, and it would be prudent for potential clients to inquire about the hospital's policies on urgent care, appointment procedures, and owner involvement in examinations before making a decision about their pet's healthcare.
In conclusion, Burgaw Veterinary Hospital in Burgaw, NC, appears to offer a welcoming environment and caring staff, as indicated by one new client's positive experience. However, a concerning account from another new customer details a perceived lack of urgency in addressing a potentially serious injury and discomfort with the initial consultation process. This significant discrepancy in feedback suggests that while some pet owners may have positive experiences, others may encounter issues with the hospital's policies and responsiveness, particularly regarding urgent care. Local users are advised to consider both perspectives and seek further clarification on the hospital's practices before entrusting them with their pet's health.

Apr 14, 2025 · denise arthurDo not go by online reviews. This is NOT the bad Burgaw vet. Dr. Baker is awesome and sweet and loves animals. My precious dog got hurt and they went above and beyond to help her. She could not be saved but they did try their hardest to find a way to do so. Even consulting with other vets to try to find a resolution for April. Thank you Dr. Baker for everything you did for our baby girl. Definitely will bring my other animals here. And thank you to Jesse the tech who fell in love with our April and helped her and me as well.
