They were able to get my cat in same day due to potential urgent issue he was having. Dr Reynders is amazing. Any interaction I have with her shows me she actually cares about your pet and not the money in your pocket (which has not always been my experience with a past vet I dealt with in the past in elma) she is very knowledgeable. The Staff is very friendly and helpful. Literally can't ask for more. Friendly ppl who actually care and know what they are doing as well as reasonably priced! Thank you!

The designation of "Pet Hospital" for Buffalo City Vet aptly describes the breadth and depth of its services. Unlike smaller clinics that may focus solely on basic preventative care, a pet hospital is equipped to handle a full spectrum of medical needs. This includes advanced diagnostics, surgical interventions, and ongoing management of chronic conditions, in addition to routine wellness care. Buffalo City Vet embodies this comprehensive approach, providing a pivotal resource for pet owners in Buffalo, NY, by ensuring accessible and high-quality veterinary care for various situations.
While explicit details about the physical aesthetic of Buffalo City Vet are not provided in the reviews, the consistent emphasis on the staff's demeanor paints a vivid picture of a welcoming and supportive environment. The phrases "Friendly ppl who actually care" and "The Staff is very friendly and helpful" indicate that clients experience a warm and approachable atmosphere. This friendly disposition is crucial in a veterinary setting, as it helps to alleviate anxiety for both pets and their owners during what can often be stressful visits. An environment where staff are perceived as genuinely caring also suggests an organized and clean facility, which is fundamental to a pet hospital's operation and contributes to the overall comfort and trust of the clients.
Buffalo City Vet is clearly equipped to handle a range of veterinary needs, from urgent issues to ongoing care, as highlighted by customer experiences. Based on the reviews and its classification as a "Pet Hospital," their services likely include, but are not limited to:
-
Urgent and Same-Day Appointments: A significant feature highlighted by a client is their ability to "get my cat in same day due to potential urgent issue." This demonstrates a commitment to responsiveness and ensuring pets receive prompt attention when needed, which is a critical aspect of a full-service pet hospital.
-
General Wellness and Preventative Care: This forms the foundation of long-term pet health. Services would encompass routine physical examinations, which are vital for monitoring overall health and detecting potential issues early. They would also offer tailored vaccination programs to protect pets against common and serious diseases (e.g., rabies, feline distemper, canine parvovirus), comprehensive parasite control (including heartworm prevention, flea and tick control), and nutritional counseling to support optimal health and weight.
-
Diagnosis and Treatment of Illnesses & Injuries: As evidenced by the treatment of an Upper Respiratory Infection and a "potential urgent issue," the clinic provides thorough diagnostic assessments to identify health problems accurately. This would involve a range of diagnostic tools, such as physical exams, and likely in-house laboratory tests (blood work, urinalysis, fecal analysis) and potentially imaging services like X-rays, to formulate effective treatment plans.
-
Surgical Services: While specific surgical procedures aren't detailed, a "Pet Hospital" designation implies the capability to perform various operations. This typically includes routine surgeries like spaying and neutering, as well as soft tissue surgeries (e.g., mass removals, foreign body extractions) and potentially some minor orthopedic procedures. Any surgical intervention would be conducted with appropriate anesthesia monitoring and pain management protocols.
-
Dental Care: Professional dental cleanings under anesthesia, tooth extractions, and comprehensive oral health assessments are crucial services offered by most pet hospitals to prevent and treat periodontal disease, which can impact overall health.
-
Pharmacy Services: An in-house pharmacy would provide convenient access to prescribed medications for pets.
-
Specialized Care (or Referral): While not explicitly stated, veterinarians like Dr. Reynders being "very knowledgeable" implies an ability to manage complex cases or guide owners to appropriate specialists when necessary.
The most compelling features of Buffalo City Vet, consistently highlighted by its clients, are the core values demonstrated by its team. The staff, including veterinarians like Dr. Reynders and Dr. Reiner, are praised for their genuine concern and expertise. The phrase "she actually cares about your pet and not the money in your pocket" is a powerful testament to the clinic's ethical approach and client-first philosophy. This contrasts sharply with negative experiences clients may have had elsewhere, making Buffalo City Vet a refreshing and trustworthy option.
The veterinarians, specifically Dr. Reynders, are described as "very knowledgeable." This indicates a high level of medical expertise and diagnostic skill, ensuring that pets receive accurate assessments and effective treatment plans. Combined with the friendly and helpful staff, this creates a holistic environment of competent and compassionate care.
Another significant feature repeatedly mentioned is that the services are "reasonably priced." In a landscape where veterinary costs can be a major concern for pet owners, Buffalo City Vet's commitment to affordability, without compromising on quality, is a huge advantage. This balance of excellent care and reasonable pricing makes high-quality veterinary services accessible to a broader range of pet owners, further solidifying their positive reputation.
The team's ability to treat pets "with great care" and achieve positive outcomes, as seen with the cat recovering from an Upper Respiratory Infection, reinforces their effectiveness and dedication. The gratitude expressed by clients through "Cheers to the great team they have at Buffalo City Vet!" underscores the profound impact they have on pet owners' lives.
While the provided information does not detail specific ongoing promotional offers, the glowing testimonials themselves serve as powerful word-of-mouth promotion for Buffalo City Vet. The emphasis on "friendly ppl who actually care and know what they are doing as well as reasonably priced!" is a strong selling point that naturally attracts new clients.
Like other client-focused pet hospitals, Buffalo City Vet would likely engage in various forms of client support and outreach, which may include:
-
Transparent Pricing: While reviews state reasonable pricing, the clinic likely provides clear estimates for services to help owners understand costs upfront.
-
Pet Insurance Guidance: Assisting clients with understanding and utilizing their pet insurance policies to manage healthcare costs.
-
Payment Plans/Financing: While not specified, many veterinary hospitals partner with third-party financing options (e.g., CareCredit) to help clients manage significant medical expenses.
-
Educational Content: Providing valuable information on pet health topics, preventative care, and common illnesses through their website, social media, or in-clinic materials. This empowers pet owners to make informed decisions about their pets' well-being.
-
Reminder Services: Sending out reminders for vaccinations, annual check-ups, and preventative medication refills to ensure continuity of care.
For the most current information regarding their specific services, pricing, and any current promotions or payment assistance programs, prospective clients are encouraged to contact Buffalo City Vet directly at the provided phone numbers. Feb 12, 2025 路 Janie McKenrickI was thrilled to find out Dr Marylisa Reynders opened a new clinic with Dr Josh. I scheduled an appt for a 2nd opinion on my sweet kitty Lorelei who was diagnosed with a mass in her abdomen. Knowing Dr Reynders from the rescue world 10 years prior, I saw her compassion for both animal & human. She put me at peace going forward with my baby girl & gave us the best medicine..her time!鉂わ笍
Jun 28, 2024 路 Bonny Rzeszutek***when I tell you Dr. Reynders is without a doubt the best go see her *** Dr. Reynders is the most amazing vet I have ever had. I have followed her to every vet location she has work with for years. I don鈥檛 trust anyone else with my fur babies but her. I am so happy she has open her own business as her great care and detail to treatment is unmatched. I had been searching for a vet like her for years and I was thankful enough to have found her 10 years ago. I bring all my pets to her and have referred people to her on countless occasions. Not only is her business LGBTQIA+ friendly which for me is so important because it shows that great care for pet and compassion for their owner is so important to her as well. Please if you take anything from this review please see her at this location 243 S. Elmwood ave for all your pets need she is brilliant and thorough with treatment plans for your pet. #womenownveterinary# compassion #lgbtqia+friendly #affordablecare
