Our first visit. We had a nervous dog that we had just gotten. Their entire staff came to see our Millie, got down on the floor at her level and waited. They waited for her to relax and be comfortable. No extra charge, no feeling of being rushed. Now when we turn that corner she is whining out of excitement to see her Dr. Alex. She loves going to the vet. Dr. Alex knew unique things about her breed that allowed me to immediately heal some issues she was having due to grass allergens. She notices small changes even though it is months between the visits because she remembers our girl Millie. We 100% trust Dr. Alex. All staff is so patient, knowledgeable, and compassionate. I don’t know other places because there is just no other place we want to go except Buckingham… their name suits them well as your pet truly is treated like royalty.

This clinic has earned a stellar reputation for its compassionate approach, deep knowledge, and unwavering dedication to the well-being of every animal under its care, often described by clients as treating their pets "like royalty."

The environment at Buckingham Equine Veterinary Clinic is consistently lauded for its calming and patient atmosphere, a crucial aspect especially for nervous pets. Customer reviews vividly portray a clinic where the staff goes above and beyond to make animals feel comfortable and un-rushed. As one client eloquently put it, "Their entire staff came to see our Millie, got down on the floor at her level and waited. They waited for her to relax and be comfortable. No extra charge, no feeling of being rushed." This dedication to patient comfort is a hallmark of the clinic, creating an environment where even a fearful dog, like Millie, can eventually look forward to veterinary visits. The waiting room and examination rooms are described as very nice, suggesting a well-maintained and clean facility designed for efficiency and comfort.

Buckingham Equine Veterinary Clinic offers an extensive range of veterinary services, encompassing both traditional and alternative therapies to provide a truly holistic approach to animal health. For companion animals, services include comprehensive preventive and wellness care, such as routine check-ups, vaccinations, parasite prevention, and nutritional counseling. They are equipped for advanced diagnostics, including in-house laboratory testing for quick results, digital radiography, and ultrasound services to provide clear and accurate insights into a pet's health. They also handle emergency care, providing swift and effective treatment for sudden illnesses and injuries. Surgical procedures, both routine and complex, are also performed.

A key distinguishing feature of Buckingham Equine Veterinary Clinic, and a major reason for its glowing reviews, is the expertise and approach of Dr. Alex (likely Dr. Alex Iden, as indicated by online information). Clients consistently praise her knowledge, thoroughness, and ability to connect with animals. One reviewer's experience with their dog Millie perfectly encapsulates this: "Now when we turn that corner she is whining out of excitement to see her Dr. Alex. She loves going to the vet. Dr. Alex knew unique things about her breed that allowed me to immediately heal some issues she was having due to grass allergens. She notices small changes even though it is months between the visits because she remembers our girl Millie. We 100% trust Dr. Alex." This highlights Dr. Alex's remarkable ability to remember individual pets, offer breed-specific insights, and build profound trust with both animals and their owners. The review "Great vet. Knowledgeable and caring." further reinforces this sentiment, as does "Dr Alex and staff love our animals almost as much as we do! Very knowledgeable, compassionate, and thorough."

Beyond traditional Western medicine, Buckingham Equine Veterinary Clinic embraces a holistic approach, integrating alternative therapies like acupuncture and nutrition-based treatments to support overall well-being. This can be particularly beneficial for pain management, improving mobility, and enhancing the quality of life for pets. This progressive approach demonstrates their commitment to exploring all avenues for a pet's health and comfort.

While the name emphasizes "Equine," the clinic provides comprehensive health care for horses, from routine exams and nutrition counseling to advanced diagnostics and emergency support, solidifying their standing in the equine community. They also offer specialized veterinary care for sheep, goats, and other small ruminants, focusing on herd health, preventive care, and nutrition, making them a valuable resource for local agricultural producers. Amazing clinic. I drove two hours to bring my cat for a tail amputation surgery. Every where close to me was trying to charge me triple, at minimum, of what it cost to get it done at buckingham. I am considering driving my dogs here for their yearly check ups, just because I was so pleased with the service, and I feel like they actually care about animals at this clinic! Love them!!!

Really unsatisfied with our experience today. After driving 20min & then waiting over 20min (in 100 degree weather), we needed to leave this office. When I called (because there was no one at front desk when we came in or left) to notify them, the response was “oh. ok.” I absolutely understand things come up, but I don’t feel we were treated well. It would have been as simple as giving me a heads up you’re running behind or “I’m sorry” after the fact. I was happy to let it go, but I later received a voicemail from Dr Alex extending an “apology” saying “we can’t do anything about the weather, I’m sorry you had your kids with & too bad you couldn’t come to an earlier offered appointment.” As a small business owner myself, I’m quite shocked at being treated so poorly.

Dr. Alex is a wonderful vet. She is very knowledgeable in her field. She is always very thorough making sure to explain everything in detail. By far the best vet I've ever been to. Highly recommended.
