The environment at Brookside Animal Hospital is designed to be both professional and comforting for pets and their owners. While specific visual details may vary, a modern veterinary hospital like Brookside, which moved into a new facility in 2008 to accommodate growth, would prioritize cleanliness, organization, and a calming atmosphere. This typically includes a well-lit and tidy reception area, comfortable seating, and potentially separate waiting areas to minimize stress for different species. Examination rooms are equipped with up-to-date diagnostic and treatment tools, ensuring efficient and accurate care. The commitment to a fear-free environment, as suggested by best practices in veterinary care, means staff are trained to reduce fear, anxiety, and stress during visits, contributing to a more positive experience for the pets. The facility’s long history and growth speak to a well-maintained and professional setting, reflecting their dedication to quality care.
Brookside Animal Hospital offers a comprehensive range of veterinary services, addressing the full spectrum of pet health needs. Their core services include general wellness and preventive care, which are crucial for maintaining long-term health. These encompass annual wellness exams to evaluate overall health and detect problems early, tailored vaccination programs to protect against common diseases, and year-round parasite control for fleas, ticks, and heartworms. Nutritional counseling is also a key offering, guiding pet owners on appropriate diets to support their pet's health, weight, and fight against disease. Microchipping services are available for permanent identification, greatly increasing the chances of reuniting lost pets with their families.
Beyond routine care, Brookside Animal Hospital is well-equipped for diagnostic and surgical needs. Their diagnostic capabilities include in-house laboratory services for quick and accurate blood work, urinalysis, and fecal analysis. They utilize radiography (X-rays) for identifying various illnesses or injuries, and diagnostic ultrasounds for detailed evaluation of internal organs, heart conditions, cysts, and tumors. Electrocardiography (EKG) is also used to measure and evaluate the electrical activity of the heart. For surgical needs, they perform both routine procedures such as spaying and neutering, as well as a variety of soft tissue surgeries. While they partner with WestVet Animal Emergency Center in Sunset for after-hours emergency care, they are capable of handling urgent situations during their operational hours. For specialized care, they have traveling specialists who provide advanced services like additional ultrasounds, endoscopy, and complex surgeries on an as-needed basis.
Dental care is another vital service at Brookside Animal Hospital, recognizing its importance to a pet's overall health. They offer both anesthetic and non-anesthetic dental cleanings. Anesthetic dental procedures allow for thorough cleaning and examination, including digital dental radiography for detailed assessments of oral health, while non-anesthetic options are available for eligible pets after a consultation. Furthermore, they offer laser therapy, a surgery-free, drug-free, non-invasive treatment that reduces pain and inflammation and speeds the healing process for post-surgical pain and various acute and chronic conditions. End-of-life care is handled with profound compassion, offering euthanasia services, hospice care to maximize comfort for pets with terminal conditions, and cremation services to help owners memorialize their beloved companions.

Mar 21, 2025 · Melissa BenderI have used Brookside for years, when it came time that my beloved companion was at the end of his life. Dr. Henderson came to my house for his last moments to reduce the stress as much as possible. His ashes were given to me in a beautiful lock box. When I was finally ready for a new pup. Dr. Henderson has been amazing, helping me with the fact that my little black dog I thought I had was not going to be so little. 80lbs later she is still great! I would highly recommend her.
Aug 23, 2024 · Celeste JensenBy far the worst place I have EVER taken my animals. The receptionists are rude and condesending. The blonde girl acts like she owns the place, the pricing is very expensive and they just let cats wonder around the place which make any dog in the waiting area anxious and bark which is not something you should have. I almost let my dog loose so they all could freak out on a cat getting chased. I will never return and if you love your pets at all, keep them away. Trust me, this place is the worst.
May 05, 2025 · Brody DezemberBrookside is always been a fantastic vet for all of our dogs. They've also been very helpful in emergency situations and meeting our dogs special dietary requirements. Surprisingly, they have a very good price on some of the specialty foods. I would recommend this vet for your pet needs but also consider checking their pricing on specialty foods if needed.
Dec 23, 2024 · Eric DurkeeDr. Jensen as well as the staff at the front desk were the most caring, professional team who listened very well to our issues our dog "Riley" was having. More importantly they developed such a great rapport with Riley, that all of the extra visits the following week were somewhat of a joy for him. Riley is doing much better now. It's like we got our spunky guy back.
