This is a long story if you're interested if not I would recommend BVEH everyday of the week based on the care we received. On March 25th we bought a 13 year old belgian mare from a killpen in Oklahoma, in April she arrived to us and went into qt. Mouse as we've named her traveled from an Amish home in Ohio and entered the auction ring before landing in Oklahoma and into our home. We took 3 trips to Belton in this time for routine care and trying to make Mouse comfortable and healthy. Fast forward to May 5th Mouse started showing signs of colic, Belton doesn't handle emergencies and that is how we found BVEH. After a short call with Dr. Remi we rushed to get Mouse to the hospital and she went in for emergency surgery. Upon our arrival at BVEH the staff hurried to work on Mouse and get to the root of the problem. This entire very stressful time the staff communicated with me about what they were doing, what they were seeing, and what our options were and kept me informed honestly. We arrived at 830pm and Dr Remi took her right in for surgery. At 445am Dr Remi called me and Mouse was out of surgery and standing. Mouse had been fed corn at the feed lot we bought her from and it caused an impaction. Mouse went into their ICU wing and for 8 days they gave her round the clock care, allowed us to visit daily, informed us every step of the way on her progress and declines. I am so grateful to have found them and have them care for our horse. We are forever greatful for the care and attention they gave to our newest friend and we can not wait to share her healing journey with them now that she is home. We can not say enough wonderful things about Dr. Remi, but I have a feeling everyone of their Dr's are great.

Based on the experiences shared by real customers, the environment at Brazos Valley Equine Hospitals is one of efficiency, expertise, and compassionate care, particularly in emergency situations. The detailed account of a mare named Mouse highlights the hospital's ability to handle critical cases with urgency and professionalism. Upon arrival, the staff "hurried to work" to address the emergency, indicating a well-organized and responsive environment equipped to handle immediate needs. The presence of an "ICU wing" further suggests a facility designed to provide intensive, round-the-clock care for horses requiring critical support. The fact that the owners were allowed to visit daily and were kept informed every step of the way points to a transparent and supportive environment for both the horse and the owner during stressful times.

The services offered at Brazos Valley Equine Hospitals are clearly comprehensive, catering to a wide range of equine health needs. The experience with Mouse demonstrates their capacity for emergency surgery, specifically to address a severe impaction. The availability of an ICU wing indicates their ability to provide intensive post-operative care and manage critical conditions over an extended period. The initial trips to Belton (presumably another clinic) for "routine care and trying to make Mouse comfortable and healthy" suggest that BVEH also handles general equine wellness and preventative care, although the focus in the review is on emergency and critical care.

The second review mentioning getting "right to the root of the problem" and securing a same-day appointment on a holiday implies efficient diagnostic capabilities and a commitment to timely service, even for non-emergency situations. This suggests that BVEH is equipped to handle both urgent and routine equine health concerns effectively.

A significant feature of Brazos Valley Equine Hospitals, as emphasized in the reviews, is the exceptional service and the expertise of their veterinary professionals. Dr. Remi is specifically mentioned and highly praised for their handling of Mouse's emergency surgery and subsequent care. The reviewer felt confident in Dr. Remi's abilities from the initial phone call through the entire process, highlighting clear communication, honesty, and a sense of urgency. The sentiment that "I have a feeling everyone of their Dr's are great" suggests a high standard of veterinary care across the entire team.

The "Excellent service" mentioned in the second review further reinforces the positive aspects of BVEH's approach to equine care. The ability to diagnose the issue quickly and provide timely intervention, even on a holiday, underscores their commitment to responsiveness and effective treatment. This suggests that BVEH prioritizes getting to the core of the problem efficiently, minimizing stress and maximizing positive outcomes for the horses they treat.

The detailed account of Mouse's care also highlights the importance of communication and support for the owners. During a very stressful time, the staff at BVEH consistently communicated what they were doing, their findings, and the available options, keeping the owner informed and involved in the decision-making process. This level of transparency and support is a crucial feature that builds trust and provides reassurance to owners during challenging medical situations.
