We walked in for the first time with two sick cats, and were given amazing time and attention from each person we met with. Very thorough, compassionate and attentive. Gave us options for treatments, very transparent about prices, and we even received a hand written thank you note from Dr. Keller a few days later! We have found our new animal hospital.

Dec 12, 2024 · Brian BeilkeETA 01/2025: I have not seen that vet since and it's been so much better. The last vet we saw was so good with my dog and listened to the issues going on. The office manager had called me and credited me from that previous visit and everyone we've seen since has been amazing. It's still expensive, but I do think that it was a one off with that vet, who it seems is one of the visiting vets. I can't remember his name, but I'd stay away from him. I'm glad I gave them a second chance! -- My newish rescue of a few months has been having some bad anxiety with getting her nails done. She's super sweet other than that and never had any problems behaviorally. The last time I took her to get groomed she was so freaked out that the groomer said they couldn't do her nails and suggested I take her to the vet. Took her to the vet last week to get her nails done, pup freaked out. They prescribed trazodone and said to come back next week (today) after giving it to her. Gave her her dosage as prescribed and took her in today. When I made my appointment for today, I asked if while she was getting her nails done I could ask a couple of questions about some allergy and behavioral issues and they said sure. They never mentioned it would be an exam--and apparently never wrote down that this would be for a nail trim at all either! I took her in and while talking to the vet tech mentioned I had a couple questions for separation anxiety, that my pup has accidents when I'm gone and will howl in her crate. I had a great conversation with the vet tech who suggested short term anti anxiety while having her get used to separation anxiety and to bring that up to the vet. Vet comes in, and puts my dog up on the table, looks her over. She's freaking out and he puts a muzzle on her which is fine. Then he just announces he's not going to do her nails. He suggests I have her get them done at a groomer and seemed surprised when I told him that they said no to doing her nails twice now. I asked for suggestions and if he could get her more anti anxiety meds. He said she is not a dog who needs drugs and suggested I just need to train her better. He kept cutting me off and speaking over me without listening. Then said to use CBD treats. Then I was charged $95. This was NOT an exam. This was supposed to be a nail trim, and I wanted to bring up a couple questions to see if that's a path to pursue. For a VET refusing to trim the nails of an anxious dog and then telling me to go to Petsmart after I have taken her in to a groomer TWICE and they said no is not only ridiculous, it's part of a vet's job. To get charged $95 for an "exam" where the guy blew me off and didn't even do anything is also something ridiculous. Its sad that this place is almost across the street from me but that I will be going elsewhere because it's clear they care more about money than animals. The two stars are for the vet techs and the receptionist people who are friendly.
Jan 24, 2025 · Schelly MurphyI’m going to differ from recent reviews. I too have been going to Bramer for over twenty years and my six cats and I loved Drs. Schoen and Swiatkowski. Only one of my cats is still alive and is currently 23 years old. Dr. Malin at Bramer saved her life this Thanksgiving and everyone at Bramer has been perfectly accommodating to her needs and my neuroses (and schedule) ever since. She is now on the correct medication for her condition and is thriving. The receptionists, Adrienne, Morgan and Nina are incredibly polite, efficient and kind ( far better than receptionists under the previous ownership). The techs are kind and capable. Dr.Jimenez followed up the next day with instructions after my cat’s bloodwork was done. And her medication was ready for pick up immediately. Although there may have been some inefficiency during the transition of ownership ( according recent reviews) things are operating normally now.
