I'd give a 10 star review if it was possible. My Milo has been coming here over a year. He's 14 with arthritis, gets physical therapy, underwater treadmill, and acupuncture. It's greatly reducing his pain and extending his life. The pic is only from 3 days ago. Wow. All of the employees are wonderful. He loves to go to BARC. I'm so grateful to have found this place. ❤❤❤

Feb 12, 2020 · Jamie BurtonThe people here are so tuned into the animals. My boy fell asleep during treatment. The greeting you get when you walk in the door is so warm. The vet tech ...he is so kind to the dogs. The doctors are so understanding and they explain every step of the treatment. Laser, Acupuncture, Full Measures on the consultation! No skipping to save money and no BS.....I was recommended to another Dog Rehabilitation in Orange County and I regret that I bothered with them. This establishment and the staff here washed away that last experience at the place in OC and I now have hope again for Chase to recover faster! B.A.R.C gave me.homework to do at home and hands on instructions on how to massage Chase and stretch and ice him every night! LOVE THEM!!!
Aug 21, 2019 · Danielle LambertWe have been taking our 6 year old Dachshund Oliver to BARC for a little over a year now. He was diagnosed with IVDD and had horrible bouts of pain that would reoccur every few months. Some of these episodes were extremely traumatic for us as they basically arose out of nowhere and really left us in a state of shock with no idea on what to do for our baby. I had heard from some other vets that acupuncture was very helpful for dachshunds with similar issues, that was how I initially discovered BARC as they offered this treatment. At our first appointment we discussed all of Oliver's daily habits, activity level, eating habits/diet, pain levels, movement et cetera. The one glaring characteristic was his eating habits, he would regularly skip meals, sometimes only eating a few bites of the dry food we were feeding him. We fed him ziwi peak dry food and many other dry food brands all to similar results, he just showed little interest in the food. His activity level was high, very playful, he moved well he just always had this eating habit of skipping meals and showing no interest in food. Dr. Voulgaris first advised we change his diet to Just Food For Dogs and try weekly acupuncture for pain. The change to JFFD made an IMMEDIATE difference. Oliver was now all of a sudden super food driven, he would finish every single meal, never skipping a meal. He still has never skipped a meal or not finished a meal to this day. This was such a stark change from his past eating habits. Oliver is a pretty nervous and shy dog so we were doubtful he would tolerate acupuncture but he handled it fine, first with us present, then later without us. We could not be happier with BARC, they have seriously changed our lives and helped Oliver regain a pain free life.
Dec 27, 2021 · Jake HurwitzI take my senior (17.5yo) dog here every week, bc she deserves to be as comfortable as possible with whatever remaining time we have with her. The staffs here are wonderful and has taken good care of her. With all the sessions and supplements that were recommended after evaluations, I have noticed improvements. Not like "she has puppy energy again", but more peaceful, calm, regaining of some appetite, longer awake periods, and a little more mobility. Mind you, she still sleeps more than she walks, but my goal is to make sure she has quality life, and BARC is a regular part of it. PS. (A bit obvious, but I'm going to mention it anyway) I recommend that you research and make sure that you are able to afford their service. And if you decided to go regularly, I recommended getting the (10 session) package deal. It's not cheap, but amount is less than if you pay for 10 sessions one at a time.
Oct 08, 2021 · JYOur beloved boy Briggs (12 year old, 80 lb Labrador Retriever) had two surgeries for herniated disks. Two in his neck and two in his lower back. Beach Animal Rehabilitation Center (BARC) was recommended to us by his back surgeon, Dr. Wayne Berry from Southern California Veterinary Hospital. You couldn't ask for a better group of people to help with the rehabilitation of your pet. Everyone there is wonderful and treat you and your pet like family. Briggs worked with everyone there. He had acupuncture, laser therapy, physical therapy and water therapy. They are all top of their game at BARC. We have since recommended them to several friends, coworkers and dog rescues. If you are looking for top quality care by people who will love your pet as their own, this is the place to go. I just cannot say enough good things about them.
