Good place to go for dogs especially. The one in Hilliard is also connected to a pets mart where you can get on a monthly fee wellness plan that covers quite a bit. Never had any issues with the staff or confusion.

Welcome to Banfield Pet Hospital
Welcome to Banfield Pet Hospital, conveniently located at 5336 Westpointe Plaza Drive, Columbus, OH 43228, USA. As a part of the well-known Pet Hospital category, Banfield aims to provide accessible and comprehensive veterinary care for your beloved pets. Our Columbus location is dedicated to offering a range of services to support the health and well-being of your animal companions.
Banfield Pet Hospital often operates within or in close proximity to PetSmart locations, which can offer added convenience for pet owners who wish to combine veterinary visits with their pet supply needs. One reviewer mentioned the connection to a PetSmart in Hilliard, where a monthly fee wellness plan is available. While the environment of the clinic itself isn't explicitly detailed in the provided reviews, Banfield Pet Hospitals generally strive to offer a clean and professional setting for examinations and consultations. As a national chain, Banfield aims for a consistent standard of care across its locations.
Based on the information available, Banfield Pet Hospital in Columbus offers a variety of veterinary services. One reviewer specifically mentioned taking their cat for a routine dental exam and being enrolled in the Optimal Wellness Plan (OWP). This suggests that dental care and wellness plans are among the services offered. Wellness plans, as indicated in one review, can cover a range of preventative care services for a monthly fee, potentially including routine check-ups and vaccinations. The positive review from a dog owner suggests that canine care is a significant part of their practice. Microchipping is another service that was mentioned, although in the context of a negative experience regarding its administration.
A notable feature often associated with Banfield Pet Hospitals is their Optimal Wellness Plans. These plans are designed to make routine veterinary care more affordable through a monthly fee structure that covers certain services. As mentioned by one reviewer, these plans can include a significant amount of preventative care. It's advisable to inquire directly with the Banfield Pet Hospital in Columbus for detailed information on the specific services covered under their wellness plans and any associated costs.
However, it is important to acknowledge the mixed feedback received from customers. One reviewer shared a positive experience, highlighting the suitability of Banfield for dogs and the benefits of the wellness plan. In contrast, another reviewer detailed a significantly negative experience concerning a routine dental exam for their cat. This experience included alleged communication issues, failure to administer a requested microchip during the initial visit, and a reported injury to the cat's leg following catheterization. The reviewer expressed serious concerns about the level of care and monitoring their pet received.
This negative review raises important considerations for pet owners. It describes a situation where the pet allegedly experienced distress, leading to the removal of a catheter and subsequent swelling and discomfort. The reviewer also reported a lack of communication regarding the pet's readiness for pick-up and the administration of the microchip. While this is a single account, it is crucial for potential clients to be aware of all available feedback when making decisions about their pet's healthcare provider.
Currently, no specific promotional information for the Banfield Pet Hospital in Columbus was provided in the reviews. It is common for veterinary clinics, especially larger chains like Banfield, to offer introductory specials for new clients or promotions related to specific services or wellness plan enrollments. To learn about any current promotions or special offers at the Columbus location, it is recommended to contact them directly at (614) 777-5657 or +1 614-777-5657 or visit their website, if available.
Choosing the right Pet Hospital for your animal companion is a significant decision that requires careful consideration. Banfield Pet Hospital, with its established presence and wellness plan options, may appeal to some pet owners seeking a structured approach to preventative care. However, it is essential to weigh the positive aspects against the negative experiences shared by other clients. Reading multiple reviews and potentially visiting the clinic or speaking with their staff directly can provide a more comprehensive understanding of the care they provide.
In conclusion, Banfield Pet Hospital at 5336 Westpointe Plaza Drive in Columbus, OH, offers a range of veterinary services, including wellness plans, and may be a convenient option for pet owners, particularly those who also utilize PetSmart for their pet supply needs. While some customers have reported positive experiences, it is important to be aware of the negative feedback shared by others regarding communication, procedure administration, and the level of care provided. We encourage potential clients to conduct thorough research and consider all available information when choosing a veterinary care provider for their pets. Contacting the clinic directly for more information about their services and current promotions is also recommended.

Mar 15, 2025 · Colin McCrearyWe took my cat, Mango, into this location for a routine dental exam yesterday. His second visit here as we recently changed from his other vet and he’s now on the OWP with Banfield. I get no call saying he’s ready for pick up, neither does my husband. After they close at 6, I get a lady calling and asking why I never showed and I tell her I had assumed they had emergencies and Mango was delayed or would need rescheduled and I was waiting for their call. The lady was adamant they had called me multiple times and left me voicemails which my call record can confirm. They hadn’t called my husband either. By the time we get in, I asked if they’d found time to get Mango microchipped and they said they hadn’t known it was needed. I told the vet at intake that morning it was. We waited another handful of minutes after they’d closed just to have them come out and say he was too stressed for the chip. Which, if done during regular hours and as I’d asked wouldn’t have been a problem. The REAL issue is the injury they did to my animal. I’m told he behaved poorly, was hissing and biting (never a problem at his other vet) and ripped out his catheter. They had to hold him down and forcibly wrap his leg to prevent bleeding. They never mentioned how long he was left there, unmonitored or anything but since we didn’t get a call he was ready until AFTER they’d closed I assumed he was bandaged too tightly for many hours. The vet who eventually came to talk to us was stuttering, nervous, not looking me in the eye that much and relaying this story to me. She warned me how swollen his leg would be but nothing could’ve prepared me to get home and see it out of the carrier. I wasn’t offered any compensation for his suffering or damage. I had to ASK for them to waive the cost of the gabapentin (about $15) they say he’ll need for follow-up visits but unless otherwise necessary I would rather die than put my pets’ lives in the hands of this horrendous, negligent team. His leg and foot are almost entirely twice the size of his other feet and the swelling hasn’t gone down in the 24+ hours since we brought him home. He hates that foot and leg being touched. These people treated my cat horrendously and I would not bring my animals to this location if I were you!!!!
Mar 16, 2025 · Kaitlyn MooreMy partner’s card on file expired and instead of communicating with us in any way that there was an outstanding balance besides calling from a spam number, Banfield sent the full balance of months to a creditor who formally put it on my credit report with less than a year of trying to collect (we had no idea). Keep in mind, we did not use the services at all during this time. No voicemails, no emails or texts about this balance even though we were opted into both. No transparency at all. This is second worse to when the vets wheeled out a euthanized dog in front of the whole waiting room. This place is predatory, beware.
Mar 11, 2025 · Rachael HoltI originally had an appointment for Thursday for my new kitten. I get a call on Wednesday asking to cancel and reschedule because “that appointment doesn’t work well with their schedule” okay I rescheduled to Sunday after the receptionist told me they were free all day. Sunday rolls around and I get a call an hour before our appointment saying the vet is out with a migraine. It is extremely frustrating when all I’m trying to do is set up an appointment and every single time I get rescheduled. Then she said “does he need to be seen right now??” I honestly don’t understand why she would ask seeing as they can’t help anyways. I would NOT recommend this location to anyone who values their time.
Mar 23, 2025 · allyson yeagerEvery person here, from doctor to vet tech, is absolutely amazing! Everyone is always so friendly when we come in, and they are so nice and caring to our fur babies. After getting our first cat and bringing him here, we knew we would always come back!
