We've been taking our dog and 2 cats here for many years and all the nurses, doctors, and staff do an AMAZING job. But lately they've been severely understaffed. For example, on 8/31/24, we waiting over an hour to check in our pet for her appointment. Shout-out to Dio and Monica especially who did an amazing job to help us out throughout the day, despite needing to scramble, but everyone at this location needs more help to continue doing their great work.

Based on recent online customer reviews, this introduction aims to provide local users with an objective overview of the environment, services, features, and any concerns raised about the Banfield Pet Hospital in City of Industry.

Environment and Atmosphere

One long-term customer, who has been taking their dog and two cats to this location for many years, initially praised the nurses, doctors, and staff for doing an "AMAZING job." This suggests that when adequately staffed, the environment is likely positive and the care commendable. However, this same review also points out a significant recent issue of being "severely understaffed," leading to long wait times, such as an over one-hour wait just to check in for an appointment on a specific date (8/31/24). The reviewer specifically acknowledged the efforts of Dio and Monica who worked hard despite the challenges, indicating that individual staff members are still dedicated.

In contrast, another customer with over three years of experience at this Banfield location described the last two years as "incredibly frustrating" due to the "constant turnover of staff." This lack of consistency in doctors makes it difficult to build trust. The reviewer also detailed a concerning experience with a urinary test for their pet where they waited two weeks without feedback and, upon calling multiple times, were ultimately told that there wasn’t even a doctor available to review the results. This paints a picture of potential disorganization and communication issues that negatively impact the client experience.

Services Offered

As a Banfield Pet Hospital, this location likely offers a standard range of veterinary services. Based on the reviews, we can infer they provide:

  • Routine Check-ups: Implied by the long-term care mentioned.
  • Vaccinations: Part of general pet care.
  • Treatment for Illnesses: Evidenced by the urinary test mentioned.
  • Potentially other services: Such as dental care, parasite prevention, surgery, and their Optimum Wellness Plans (pet health insurance), although these are not directly mentioned in the provided reviews for this specific location.

However, the reviews highlight potential issues with the delivery and management of these services, particularly regarding communication and timely follow-up.

Key Features

Based on the customer feedback, potential key features and areas of concern include:

  • Potentially Dedicated Staff: The shout-out to Dio and Monica suggests that some staff members are committed to providing good service despite challenges.

However, significant concerns raised include:

  • Understaffing: Leading to long wait times.
  • High Staff Turnover: Resulting in a lack of consistent doctors and difficulty in building trust.
  • Poor Patient Management: Evidenced by the delayed test results and lack of doctor availability for review.
  • Lack of Communication: Leading to frustration and a loss of confidence from at least one customer.
Promotional Information

The provided reviews do not contain any information about specific promotional offers or discounts at the Banfield Pet Hospital in City of Industry. Banfield generally offers their Optimum Wellness Plans, which are a form of preventative care packages. Local users interested in learning about these plans or any other promotions should contact the hospital directly at (909) 594-8293 or visit the Banfield website for more information.

Customer Experiences

The two provided reviews paint a contrasting yet concerning picture of the current state of Banfield Pet Hospital in City of Industry:

One long-term customer initially praised the staff but highlighted severe understaffing issues causing significant delays.

The other customer expressed extreme dissatisfaction with the high staff turnover and poor patient management, specifically detailing a two-week wait for urinary test results with no communication and a lack of available doctors to review them. This led to a loss of confidence and the intention to seek veterinary care elsewhere.

Collectively, these reviews suggest that while some staff members are appreciated, the hospital is facing significant challenges related to staffing levels and organizational efficiency, which are negatively impacting the customer experience.

Conclusion

Banfield Pet Hospital in City of Industry, CA, is a "Pet Hospital" that has received mixed recent feedback. While some long-term customers have appreciated the care provided by the staff, there are significant concerns regarding understaffing, high staff turnover, and poor patient management, particularly in communication and timely follow-up on medical tests. Potential local users should be aware of these recent experiences, which indicate potential challenges in service delivery despite the dedication of some individual staff members. If you are considering this Banfield location for your pet's healthcare, it may be beneficial to inquire about their current staffing levels and patient management protocols.

I have been a client at Banfield Hospital for over three years, but the last two years have been incredibly frustrating. The constant turnover of staff means there's never a consistent doctor to build trust with. Recently, I did a urinary test for my pet and waited two weeks without any feedback. I called three times about the report. The first two times, I was told it wasn't ready, and when I called again, I was informed that there wasn’t even a doctor available to review it. This hospital has the worst patient management I’ve ever experienced. The level of disorganization is unacceptable, especially when it comes to the health of my pet. After such a long delay, I can't help but wonder if the report is even still usable. The entire experience has been a waste of my money, time, and patience. The lack of communication and care has made me lose all confidence in this hospital. I will definitely be looking for a more reliable place for my pet's healthcare.

"I had a bad experience at the Banfield hospital today. I checked into the appointment early, spent 20 minutes at the counter with the nurse trying to fill in information that could have been done more easily through email. She did not even know my dog's breed but tried to suggest dog food to me. Then she went on to talk about how a grain-free diet is related to enlarged hearts and advocated for the brand Science Hill. When I questioned the validity of her claim and suggested that a confounding variable (legume) might be responsible for the enlarged heart, she dismissed the statement. She later educated me about influenza, which I am well aware of. When I asked for a solution, she initially said there is none, but then contradicted herself by mentioning an influenza vaccine. I agreed to the vaccine and later found out there are boosters, meaning more money and visits than what I initially signed up for. In this incident, she withheld information I needed to know. After they took my dog, Bambi, they said they would call me when it was done. I waited for more than an hour and 35 minutes with no call. I went back to check, and she admitted they were done long ago and were just keeping my dog there to watch. I can watch and monitor the dog; I didn't pay you to play with my dog. When checking out the dog, she did not give me any feedback from the doctor. I had to call in and speak to three different people, be placed on hold for 15 minutes before I could speak to a doctor (not even the one who saw my pet) about the information I requested. Overall, I felt like the place is unprofessional and inefficient because of my experience with this nurse. She did not know how to read the room or do her job as a professional.

Used to love this place because of its conveniency, until I get disgusted today. They've been rise their price for pets health plan without reminders and permission. They just decided to take away more and more money from my bank account without even announcing. Then today, they charged me 95 something dollars for picked up my cat at 7pm, which is right before they are closing. They were saying they close at 6, and after that they charge 95 something dollars per hour. That's even more expensive than human! What place is this? And I'm pretty sure this rule was not exist earlier this year. And I always picked my pet after 6 on their exam day, never got charged until today! When I got home, I saw my cat’s fur were pulled out and stuck on the zipper! Worst experience ever!!!
