Love taking my Rosie to Banfield Lakeland. She was really sick with her allergies. Call and got an appointment the next day. The doctor and assistant explained to me that she needed her allergy shots and antibiotics due to a bacterial infection. This plan worked well and she’s doing great. Highly recommend this place for your fur babies.

Based on feedback from pet owners, Banfield Pet Hospital in Lakeland appears to offer a range of services to address various pet health needs. One customer shared a positive experience, highlighting the prompt appointment scheduling and effective treatment for their dog Rosie's allergies and a subsequent bacterial infection. The doctor and assistant are commended for their clear explanations of the treatment plan, which included allergy shots and antibiotics, ultimately leading to Rosie's recovery. This positive review suggests that Banfield Pet Hospital is capable of diagnosing and treating common pet ailments effectively.
However, another customer's experience presents a mixed view. While they found the facilities to be clean and spacious and appreciated the sweet and attentive secretaries, they reported a negative interaction with one of the nurses. Furthermore, they expressed significant concern regarding the follow-up care for their dog's paw lesion. Despite undergoing an X-ray, the customer reported a lack of communication regarding the radiologist's findings and the appropriate treatment plan. Repeated calls over a week allegedly resulted in being told that messages were left for the doctor to call back, which seemingly did not occur. This lack of communication and unresolved diagnostic issue raises concerns about the consistency of patient care and follow-up procedures at this location. The customer's continued discomfort of their pet and reliance solely on pain medication without a clear diagnosis underscores the importance of timely and effective communication in veterinary care.
As a pet hospital, Banfield likely offers a range of diagnostic services, as indicated by the mention of X-rays. These services are crucial for identifying underlying health issues in pets that may not be apparent through physical examination alone. The availability of diagnostic tools suggests a commitment to thorough assessment of pet health concerns.
The mention of allergy shots and antibiotics indicates that Banfield Pet Hospital provides medical treatments for common pet conditions. Allergies are a frequent issue in pets, and the ability to administer appropriate therapies like allergy shots is essential. Similarly, the use of antibiotics suggests the capacity to treat bacterial infections, which can be serious if left unaddressed.
Pain management is also mentioned in the feedback, indicating that Banfield Pet Hospital addresses the comfort of their animal patients. While pain medication can provide temporary relief, it is crucial to identify and treat the underlying cause of the pain, as highlighted in the concerning review.
In terms of the environment, one customer described the facilities as clean and spacious, which are important factors in ensuring a comfortable and hygienic experience for both pets and their owners. A clean environment helps to minimize the risk of infection and promotes a sense of well-being.
The positive feedback regarding the secretaries being sweet and attentive suggests that the administrative staff at Banfield Pet Hospital are focused on providing good customer service. A welcoming and helpful front desk can significantly contribute to a positive overall experience for pet owners.
In summary, Banfield Pet Hospital in Lakeland, TN, appears to be a facility equipped to handle various pet health needs, from routine care to the treatment of specific conditions like allergies and infections, and offers diagnostic services such as X-rays. While some customers have had positive experiences with the medical care and administrative staff, there are also reports of concerning issues related to communication and follow-up, which potential clients should be aware of. It is always advisable for pet owners to communicate clearly with their veterinary care providers and ensure they receive timely updates and comprehensive treatment plans for their beloved animals.
For local users seeking a pet hospital in Lakeland, TN, Banfield Pet Hospital offers a convenient location and a range of services. However, it is recommended to consider the mixed feedback regarding communication and follow-up when making your decision. Direct communication with the hospital regarding their procedures and ensuring a clear understanding of your pet's diagnosis and treatment plan is always advisable.

Apr 09, 2025 · K Tthe facilities are clean and spacious, the secretaries are very sweet and attentive, the doctor was good at talking to me about my pet but one of the nurses had a very bad attitude, like she hated working. my dog had a lesion on his paw and they x-rayed it i was supposed to be called by the time the radiologist confirmed what he would have. I called for a week to be told that my dog has, they told me that they left messages for the doctor to call me, my dog continues to have discomfort and only has pain medication but no improvement. I still don't know what he has or if I should take him to another specialist for his problem because they never call me back!!!!!
Jun 06, 2023 · Sussan Annais TerrellDid my FAVN for an overseas move and the USDA physical was kicked back so we redid everything (partially reimbursed by Banfield) but now that I am trying to coordinate my pets move. I consistently get the run around. Well call you back for the third time with no call back. I’ve already delayed travel 2 months because of the lack of communication from the staff. I called again today and was told they’ll call back (need a manager). I was told three days ago that someone (office manager) was going to call and that a note was put in. I am +15 hours ahead in time zones.
