Negative stars should be a standard considering this interaction. I came in with my service dog in training for an ear infection and rabies update, and they treated me like a dig abuser because I present with autism and ptsd. After they called me the next morning before they were even open I was struck by the way they treated me so I called back to invite them to view Hugo's social media pages so they can see for themselves the wonderful life I provide my dog. They left me on hold for 20 minutes, and when they picked up again, they promptly put me back on hold. Terrible public relations from this group. Take your pet somewhere else. These people should be ashamed of how they treat the rest of us, considering the exorbitant prices they charge. I'm literally eating food shelf food this month so I can take care of my dog. At least treat me like a human being. Very rude.

If I could give no stars - I would. They constantly have some issues with the appointments/doctors and then make the clients feel stupid for their mistakes. Last time I booked an in room comprehensive exam with a doctor few weeks in advance. When arrived, they told me the exam is gonna happen in a back room, it will be conducted by a technician, not a doctor. And btw they just removed my appointment from the account. Want to have proper in room visit? Sure, come on Friday (today was Monday). To remind you, I already had an appointment scheduled. I wanted to be done with all of that and agreed to wait in the lobby for my dog to be taken care of in a back room. Then I also told them three times that I brought a stool sample. They told me that it is great, yet never took it from me until they brought the doggo back. I told them that the sample is still here and they answered "oh, that's why we couldn't get anything from him [my dog]". Ironically, they have a banner asking owners to bring the samples so that the personnel would not have to perform invasive actions on the dogs. Yet they still did that to my puppy. Confronting them is mostly waste of time and energy, we've tried. So their service is constantly disgusting, the attitude is condescending, no apologies for their faults. The only chance for a good service is to have an in room appointment with Dr. Fergusson, she cares. Maybe they are overloaded by amount of work. Maybe people here don't earn enough money to care. But I am tired cutting them slack time after time after time, I have my own bills to pay, I have my work to do rather than spending two-three extra trips to a place like this where neither my dog not I are feeling welcome for only about $100 a month on a wellness plan.

If I could do negative stars, I would. Please do not take your pet to this location. To say they’ve gone downhill would be an understatement. Believe me when I tell you, do not go to this location. I started bringing one of my dogs to this location 12 years ago, and have been bringing my family animals to this banfield for numerous years prior to that, so to write this review, means I’m truly disgusted at the treatment I received. My dog was experiencing bloody diarrhea, banfield was closed so I rushed him to the emergency animal hospital. They advised I return back to banfield if things don’t improve. I called Reston banfield the next morning, and they told me I could do a drop off appointment for my dog to be seen further. For the record, my dog has been seen at the Reston location before, we prefer a different location as our primary, but he has visited Reston on a number of occasions due to availability. Once I got there, I was told my dog was too anxious to be a drop off, he didn’t want to go into the kennel, and asked if I could do an in room appointment. I agreed and was flexible to this. We waited a very long time in room, at least an hour, and then were told the vets were too busy to see us, could we come back later. I agreed, went to work, called back a few hours later to check if we should come back in which I was told yes. Took off work AGAIN to bring my dog back. I arrived quickly over to the Reston location, to which I was reprimanded by the front staff, saying I should have come back an hour and half earlier. ???? A specific time was never communicated to me, they made ME wait in office, then told me they didn’t have time for me and sent me back home with no treatments being done and I also called to check if I should return and was given the green light so I’m not sure why I was received with this type of attitude. I once again waited some time, and was finally seen. The vet I saw should be fired, she does not care about the well being of animals. She acted as if I was an inconvenience to her, she was snappy, rude, and denied medically necessary care to my dog. She claimed he was too big to do necessary tests and likely wouldn’t sit still. Once again, ???? Aren’t you a vet? Shouldn’t you have experience in large breed dogs? He’s a Great Dane lab puppy, not a horse. Yes he was anxious and in pain, but this isn’t a reason to deny him care. And I’ve never once heard this type of excuse from a vet. And no vet has EVER said he has behavioral problems. She offered no actionable solutions, ran only one test that was negative, was condescending, patronizing and apathetic when I asked “what could be causing this?” “How should I fix it? He is having bloody diarrhea multiple times a day, I’m concerned, he’s in pain, I’m a nervous wreck and not sleeping”. She truly said “I don’t know” with no further advice or next steps. I advocated for my dog to at the very least to get fluids which she begrudgingly agreed to, but again wanted to forgo due to his size.. which is insane to me. Next day I was able to get him in to see his primary vet at a different banfield location. Turns out he has a bacterial infection, and had to be put on multiple medications to fix. So the fact Reston did nothing, tested for little to nothing, provided no actionable medical guidelines or advice, gaslit me and dismissed me while insinuating I was over reacting regarding his symptoms, answered none of my questions, sent him home with no medications or even relief is truly neglectful. Reston turned their backs on a very sick puppy and enraged this dog momma. Please take it from me, if you love your animals, run far, far away from this sh*t show of a practice.

I liked this particular Banfield better than any previous one. The front staff was super friendly & my apps time was exact. Which I made online 30 minutes prior. The vet tech was so pleasant & gave my puppy a toy to chew on. The veterinarian was kind & compassionate. The downside - I feel no one explained the mi or details well enough. The insurance packet is limited on details of what they cover. Also, I didnt realize the county dog tag wasn't included in the price which was $244 for vaccinations. Super Expensive.

Do yourself a favor and go to Banfield in Fox Mill Shopping Center or the one on Elden street, or anywhere else. Don't be someone who reads this, goes here anyways, and then regrets not heeding this advice when you have a terrible experience (an inevitability here). The lack of basic customer service and ostensible care for pets and their owners is very strange and confusing.
