We recently transitioned to South Ridge Banfield in Kannapolis, and it truly feels like a dedicated veterinary hospital. The standalone location makes drop-offs and pick-ups much more convenient and less stressful for our dogs when compared to locations inside PetSmart. The staff and doctors consistently prioritize the health and well-being of our pets. I highly recommend them, especially for new puppies—consider the monthly plan for long-term savings and overall health. "10/10."- Indy and Storm

Welcome to Banfield Pet Hospital
Welcome to Banfield Pet Hospital, a well-established veterinary care provider located at 1920 S Ridge Ave in Kannapolis, NC. Operating firmly within the Pet Hospital category, Banfield offers a wide range of medical services and potentially provides related goods to support the health and well-being of your animal companions. Based on the recent customer reviews, Banfield Pet Hospital in Kannapolis appears to be evolving to offer more convenient and dedicated care for local pet owners.
One recent customer highlights the positive transition to the South Ridge Banfield location in Kannapolis, emphasizing that it "truly feels like a dedicated veterinary hospital." This suggests that the standalone facility offers an environment more conducive to pet care compared to locations situated within retail spaces like PetSmart. A significant advantage noted is the increased convenience and reduced stress for pets during drop-offs and pick-ups at this standalone location. The reviewer consistently praises the staff and doctors for prioritizing the health and well-being of their pets, instilling confidence in their level of care. For owners of new puppies, the reviewer strongly recommends considering Banfield's monthly wellness plan, suggesting it offers long-term savings and supports the overall health of growing pets. This positive experience culminates in a "10/10" rating from pet owners Indy and Storm, indicating exceptional satisfaction.
Another customer shares a more mixed experience. They acknowledge that Banfield "always does such a great job" and mention their wife's belief in the wellness plan for their Chihuahua, suggesting perceived value in their preventative care offerings. However, the review details a concerning incident involving their Chihuahua being brought in for a head bump. The reviewer, who doesn't typically accompany their pets to appointments, felt compelled to do so this time, likely due to a recent emotional experience with the loss of another pet to cancer. The narrative of the day's events raises some concerns about communication and the individual needs of the pet. Despite being informed that their dog would be at the hospital for "the better part of the day" for tests, the owners were not contacted by the clinic. Upon calling at 4:45 PM, they were simply told their dog was "fine" and had been "vibing all day" with the staff. The reviewer strongly disputes this assessment, stating that their dog requires specific comfort measures (warm blanket and heating pad) when his primary caregiver (his "Mama") is not present. While the reviewer acknowledges that the bump thankfully subsided and there was ultimately nothing serious to worry about, they express dissatisfaction with the lack of communication and perceived insensitivity to their pet's individual needs, labeling it "BOOOOO! BAD BUSINESS!" This review, while ending with a positive health outcome, highlights a potential area for improvement in client communication and personalized pet comfort during extended stays.
Considering both reviews, Banfield Pet Hospital in Kannapolis appears to offer several key features and potential benefits: a dedicated standalone facility providing a potentially less stressful environment for pets; a focus on the health and well-being of animals, as highlighted by the positive experiences with routine care and wellness plans; recommendations for proactive care, such as wellness plans for puppies, suggesting a focus on preventative medicine; and generally positive experiences with staff and doctors. However, the second review raises a point about the importance of clear and timely communication with pet owners, especially during extended stays for testing or procedures, and the need to be attentive to the individual comfort and emotional needs of each animal.
While the reviews do not explicitly detail the full range of services offered at the Kannapolis Banfield Pet Hospital, we can infer that they provide routine check-ups, vaccinations, diagnostic testing (as mentioned in the context of the head bump), and potentially surgical procedures (given the reference to a "dedicated veterinary hospital"). The mention of a "wellness plan" suggests they offer bundled preventative care packages that may include regular examinations, vaccinations, parasite prevention, and potentially other services at a discounted monthly rate, as recommended for new puppies for long-term savings. It is also likely that they dispense prescription medications and potentially offer other pet-related goods.
No specific promotional information is mentioned in the provided reviews. However, the recommendation of the monthly wellness plan for new puppies implies a potential cost-saving strategy for long-term care. To learn about any current promotions or special offers, it would be best to contact the hospital directly.
For local users in Kannapolis, NC, seeking a dedicated veterinary hospital, the South Ridge Banfield location appears to offer a more convenient and potentially less stressful environment for their pets compared to in-store locations. The positive feedback regarding the staff's prioritization of pet health and the recommendation of wellness plans for preventative care are points to consider. However, it is also important for pet owners to communicate clearly with the clinic about their pet's specific needs and expectations, particularly regarding communication during the pet's stay at the hospital.
To obtain a comprehensive understanding of the services offered at the Banfield Pet Hospital in Kannapolis, including specific details about their wellness plans, appointment procedures, diagnostic capabilities, surgical services, and any retail products they may sell, it is recommended to contact them directly at (704) 933-1414 or +1 704-933-1414. Their address is 1920 S Ridge Ave, Kannapolis, NC 28083, USA. Direct communication will allow you to inquire about their environment, the full scope of their services, their operating hours, and any current promotions or specific protocols they have in place to ensure both the medical and emotional well-being of your pets during their visits.
In conclusion, Banfield Pet Hospital in Kannapolis, NC, offers a dedicated veterinary hospital setting with a focus on pet health and well-being. Their wellness plans, particularly for young pets, may offer long-term value. While generally receiving positive feedback, it is advisable for pet owners to maintain open communication with the clinic to ensure their pet's individual needs and comfort are fully addressed during their care.

Dec 11, 2024 · CJ WoliverThis place always does such a great job. My wife believes in their wellness plan, for our lil Chihuahua, it seems to make sense. We did, however, recently take him in for a lil bump on his lil head. And, I usually don't personally go in with the 2 of them, but, this time I felt an investment. (Mainly because we just lost our youngest wolf dog to a sarcoma/bone cancer fight). And his head started out with a small bump. Very similar to the bump on the lil ones head). We had an appointment. When we dropped him off, we were told he would be there for the better part of the day, so no worries... Run the tests needed. They had him ALL DAY. Didn't call us. We called them at 4:45. They said he was "fine"? He'd been"vibing all day" with staff? NOPE!! Imma be the first one to tell ya.... If his Mama ain't there to keep him snuggled in, UNDER A WARM BLANKET, WITH A HEATING PAD,... HE IS NOT"FINE"! luckily, this is Mama's say, and I didn't have to raise a stink. AND,... LUCKILY... The bump went down and there was nothing to worry about. But?. BOOOOO! BAD BUSINESS!
Dec 21, 2024 · Robert CraverThe waiting area was large and inviting; the ladies at the desk so kind and helpful; the veterinary assistant was thorough in covering all details and plans for Misty’s exam. When she was ready the Vet called and gave me the results of tests and the exam. I am so happy with the visit and care Misty received.
Dec 19, 2024 · Jennifer PearceOur dog Frankie is not in love with humans but the staff at Banfield have turned every visit into a positive one. They are all friendly and caring. I recommend every pet owner to go there.
Dec 27, 2024 · Felicity WrayMultiple instances of my senior dog coming home with bleeding nails, was told he was scratching on the floor. Then they stopped having a groomer. History of charging for services but "forgetting" to perform them. Horrible bedside manner for cancer-related conversations. Negligent in after-care instructions post-operation. Failed to send masses for biopsy and refused care until I paid extra for them to fix the surgical sites that they prematurely removed (ripped) unhealed scabs off. He had a thumb-sized hole in his abdomen and they were nonchalant about it. Gave no antibiotics or pain medications and handed me a bloody leash from a previous patient. Each incision site burst back open and required staples after the shoddy suture removal. Was told my dog probably made it do that and that "whoever did the surgery" (it was this office) just "didn't do the sutures the way I would have, personally." When I asked whether the staples were painful for him to receive, whether he could feel it, they shrugged and said "He let us do it." Some sweet vet techs and staff at the front desk but hopefully they can find somewhere that will be better for them before this place shuts down. The doctors only care about money. Lack of bloodborne pathogen protocol. Not a safe place for your pets. I went for nearly 3 years and gave them many chances and trusted them despite the numerous less than superb experiences. Am now seeking legal counsel and have reported them to Banfield corporate. I've talked to many who are native to Kannapolis who politely mentioned when I moved here that this place is not the best and used to be a different animal care facility, which they seemed to appreciate much more than Banfield. I wish I would have listened. Hopefully my and other reviews of dogs who have died due to their negligence or missed diagnoses will be enough to warn others for the future. If you have had a less than superb experience here, please help other animals and pet parents by leaving an honest review too. You could save their life.
