I had a wonderful experience at this Banfield hospital. Our senior dachshund Lulu has a lump on her rear paw, and I suspected it may have been infected after she injured it when going for a walk. I was able to schedule an appointment for the next day online, and the following morning, I was called and asked if I could bring her in sooner. Luckily, I able to drop her off in the morning and Dr. Tatum recommended a cytology to test the lump for abnormalities, but her bloodwork came back normal. They also did her comprehensive exam with was due, trimmed her nails, and gave her 2 vaccines. We have a virtual appointment in 5 days to discuss her cytology results, but overall, we've been very pleased with the responsiveness, attention, and care from Dr. Tatum and the vet tech, Rebeka. After I dropped her off, about 1 hr later, Rebeka called me with the vet's initial evaluation and recommendations. She was very kind and explained everything thoroughly, she also listened to my questions, noted them to relay to the vet, and she checked Lulu's prior medical records. About 3 hours later, she followed up with me to address my earlier questions, give me an update, and also to let me know when Lulu would be ready for pickup. Erin and Mercedes also helped me check-in and check-out, and Rebeka brought Lulu out and explained to me the home care routine for Lulu's lump. Overall, very happy with the team's service so far, and we even got a nice goodie bag on the way out. I would recommend this Banfield hospital! Thank you!

DONT BUY INTO THE BANEFIELD PROTECTION PLAN and don’t take your pet here if you want people to take care of your dog properly. They almost caused long-term neurological side effects for my dog and now refuse to let me cancel my plan with them without charging me for the “services they offered”, which was literally one check up and the visit that they did all the neurological damage to him. they wouldn’t let me in the office with him during his exam because of “timing” and they gave him a shot that 1. they didn’t tell me could have harmful neurological side effects on him 2. would have to be monthly at if it was something that worked at almost $200 a shot 3. acted as if it was the only option for him to be treated. to make matters worse, they were treating something that they just ~assumed~ was the issue and when I took him to a Modern Animal because he JUST KEPT getting worse, they said he didn’t need it and treated him for something else entirely!! plus Banefield was super unresponsive and only reached out after we reached out to them with questions and pretended to be helpful and sympathetic after my partner left a review and then never reached out again after our last interaction when they said they would “reach out with a solution”. absolute garbage that I’m still being charged $200 a month for a hospital I will never take my dogs to again and they won’t do anything to solve their issues.

Do NOT bring your pet here! You can see my last review on here from months ago, I’ve been using Banfield system for years now, but it isn’t worth it. They don’t communicate well at all, they wasted my day of work going back and forth after dropping off my cat for a spade, then refusing to do it because they didn’t keep track of her vaccines and wanted to do a vaccine day instead. This happened for my other cat to get neutered as well, exact same thing. The vet tech had horrible customer service skills, rapport def isn’t her strong hand and made me consider just walking out; however I didn’t do it, yet the outcome was the same as if I did anyway. I was recommend Fire House vet care. The wellness plans are horrible too, they won’t advise you when you should do them, only when you schedule for a service they will deny and say you need other services instead, not recommended, but they just will refuse. Replying to the response, I feel like the reply was an attempt to patronize me or the situation, it has less to do with the plans but instead it has to do with the horrible lack of communication from Banfield, the disgusting attitude of the vet tech which I had a meeting about before I left which was the first indicator I should’ve taken my baby and left, and I discussed that with the manager, and then finally the veterinarian trying to find an excuse to not complete the surgery that was scheduled in advance, And they didn’t even tell me until after I dropped off my baby (after the discussion with the mgr) and arrived to work, after not allowing her to eat per the surgery instructions that was relayed when they called the day before to verify the surgery appt, ..by the time we got back home it was like 14 hours since she ate! I wouldn’t be surprised if that vet didn’t know but cats shouldn’t go that long without food, and she’s a baby sphynx! Completely unacceptable!

I like taking my furry son to Banfield Balcones! They are awesome! The staff is always helpful and kind. I always recommend folks to take their little fur pets to them.

My daughter adopted a GSD with a very severe paw wound in August. The rescue was treating it and just released him to my daughter end of September. His paw has continued to heal but still an open wound it was, as I said, a very severe wound. We set up an appointment to establish care with a vet, to discuss the fact he had been on gabapentin for months and running out of it. We have two different wound cares rescue gave us both topical. First appointment was canceled on us. Was hard to get because everything is about drop off. We wanted to meet vet and establish care. So we got canceled on and reschedule for yesterday. He has been out of his gabapentin for the week we waited for new appointment. My daughter pays for office visit, heart worm test, 6mo heartworm prevention, a vaccine she opted for and the paw wound…… the vet never came in. Never met him. He never talked to my daughter. Tech asked if my daughter wanted oral or topical antibiotic for his paw. Asked if she wanted a $300 culture done. Declined. Is it infected? Why after months is this the discussion on treatment of his paw wound? Vet didn’t think it was something to talk about. Never came in to discuss it. No discharge, wound isn’t oozing, clean and still open wound but has healed a lot since initial injury but have a ways to go yet. $100 for small tube of antibiotic cream and weeks worth of dog Advil. No gabapentin. So after many months of this wound a $100 ointment and pills will fix it right up after a week? What’s the long game here? Can’t be bothered to have a discussion and treatment plan? My daughter paid $350 for this mess almost half her pay check of hard earned money and vet couldn’t even talk with her about her dogs paw injury she’s been trying to heal for months. Horrible service and I told my daughter let him go back for his booster in 3wks but don’t ever use that vet again. Someone comes in there willing to spend their hard earned money to establish care and their pet has a medical issue that has ongoing care and picked you to be that vet, at least met them and talk to them. Crazy practice.
