Please, if you love your dog so much do not take them to Banfield Pet Hospital. Last night on February 17, 2025 I had to put my dog down because he was misdiagnosed. I did lab works and they told be he didn't seem out of the ordinary. Turned out he had cancer and was anemia, it was too late. With the proper diagnosis he could have been in less pain and treated properly.

As a part of a large national chain of veterinary clinics operating within PetSmart stores, Banfield Pet Hospital aims to provide convenient and comprehensive pet healthcare services. Typically, Banfield clinics are situated inside PetSmart retail locations, offering a familiar and accessible environment for pet owners already visiting the store for supplies. The environment within a Banfield clinic usually includes a reception area for check-in and waiting, examination rooms for consultations and treatments, and potentially a small laboratory for basic diagnostic tests. Depending on the size and services offered, some locations might also have a surgical suite or a dedicated area for dental procedures.
The services generally offered at a Banfield Pet Hospital, including this Henderson location, typically encompass a range of veterinary care, such as:

Features often associated with Banfield Pet Hospitals include their convenient in-store location, their focus on wellness plans, and their standardized approach to veterinary care as part of a national network. This can offer some consistency in terms of record-keeping and access to a broad range of resources within the Banfield system.
However, it is crucial to consider the significant negative feedback provided in the customer reviews for this specific Banfield Pet Hospital in Henderson. One reviewer recounts a tragic experience where their dog was allegedly misdiagnosed, and despite lab work showing "nothing out of the ordinary," the dog was later found to have cancer and anemia, ultimately leading to the pet's passing. The reviewer strongly advises against taking pets to Banfield due to this experience.
Another highly critical review labels the Banfield hospital in this PetSmart as "THEE worst," alleging that the staff seems uncaring and primarily focused on making money. This reviewer claims to have spent a substantial amount ($700) with their pet's condition worsening, followed by pressure to return for more visits. They also report rude behavior from the staff and difficulty in obtaining their pet's medical records in writing, eventually having to contact another Banfield location to get the results. Furthermore, this reviewer alleges inaccuracies and misleading information in their pet's file and states they will never visit any Banfield again due to this negative experience.
Given these serious allegations of misdiagnosis, lack of care, and unprofessional behavior, local users should approach this specific Banfield Pet Hospital location with extreme caution. While Banfield is a national chain, these reviews suggest significant issues with the quality of care and customer service at this particular branch in Henderson.
Currently, no positive reviews or specific promotional information are provided for this location. Banfield as a national entity does often promote their Optimum Wellness Plans® and may have general offers for new clients. However, in light of the severe negative feedback concerning this specific hospital, any potential promotional benefits may be overshadowed by the reported poor quality of care and service.
For local users in Henderson seeking a "Pet Hospital," it is strongly recommended to thoroughly consider the negative experiences shared in these reviews. While convenience is a factor, the alleged misdiagnosis and lack of compassionate care reported by these pet owners raise serious concerns about the quality of veterinary services at this Banfield Pet Hospital location.
Before considering this Banfield Pet Hospital, local pet owners may want to:
- Seek out reviews from other sources to get a broader perspective on the experiences of pet owners with this specific location.
- Consider other "Pet Hospitals" in the Henderson area that have consistently positive reviews regarding the quality of medical care, communication, and staff compassion.
- If considering Banfield, perhaps inquire about the qualifications and experience of the veterinarians and staff at this particular clinic.
- Understand the details and limitations of Banfield's Optimum Wellness Plans® before enrolling.
- Ensure clear and transparent communication regarding diagnosis, treatment plans, and costs.
- Document all interactions and requests for medical records.
In conclusion, while Banfield Pet Hospital at this Henderson PetSmart location offers the convenience of being situated within a pet supply store, the provided customer reviews paint a concerning picture of potential misdiagnosis, a perceived lack of care, and unprofessional conduct. Local pet owners are strongly advised to exercise caution and carefully weigh these negative experiences against any potential benefits of choosing this particular "Pet Hospital." Prioritizing the health and well-being of your pet necessitates thorough research and consideration of all available options for veterinary care in the Henderson area.

Feb 18, 2025 · Adriana IgnacioNever go to the Banfield hospital in this PetSmart. They are THEE worst. They should at least SEEM like they care about your pet. They're there to only make money. Spent $700 only for my pet to get worse. Then they tried to upsell me and tell me to bring my pet back in just days after the visit. Again, just there for the money. Corporate Vets and the staff are rude as soon as they walk into the door to go to work. I asked for my pet's results in writing multiple times and they refused to email me a copy. I had to call another Banfield just to get the results. Upon reading the results and "little side notes" they put into the file, they wrote so much incorrect and misleading information. Never again will I attend ANY Banfield, just because of the experience at this particular one.

Dec 19, 2024 · Noemi ReyesCouldnt find my dogs prescription card for her required forever RX food. Her last prescription was written by a Banfield vet just a few months ago in 2024 and this place claims the last record is in 2018 lol. I even have receipts from buying recent prescription food and pictures of her prescription, but they keep claiming she was last seen in 2018 and therefore I need to PAY for her to be seen for another prescription. It's always about money with these people. Shame on you for holding a dog's prescription food hostage. Just because you can hold her food hostage doesn't mean you should. It's her FOOD ffs. She's 11 years old, she's been on prescription food for 9 years, and will be on it until the day she's gone. It's a lifetime commitment, and these greedy schleps LOVE a patient like my dog, so they can squeeze you for 2 appointments per year for every year you have left with your fur baby... And if you don't give in to their demands your choices are feeding them harmful food or letting them starve. I'm sure they'd love either scenario, hoping I'd then have to spend even more money cuz they're just sick wackos. It's all just a racket. Way better off going to a mom and pop owned vet, stay away from these corporate greed places.
Sep 28, 2024 · StephanieI saw the reviews and was scared to go but my dog was in very poor shape. I had gotten the dog from my sister who took very poor care of her. The dog (Ellie) was my mother’s and mine but my mother had stage 4 cancer and passed. While taking care of everything and getting moved back to Vegas my nice fell in love with her so I let her stay with them. 2 years later my sister can have Ellie where she was moving. I gladly wanted her back. I saw her for the first time and she had more than doubled her weight. 25lbs in perfect health and had to be at least 50lbs. Not having much money I decided to go back to what we use to do. Getting healthy food, going on walks at night. She started looking better but took a turn for the worst. She had gotten diabetes and dropped to 13lbs. I was selling my car and applying for loans anything I could. The Vet Dr. Dianna Guernick confirmed my worst and would be best to put her down. Beyond devastated I couldn’t even afford to do that that day. I had no choice and was having to bring her home in pain I’m sure when Dr. Guenick worked with me. I had to leave ASAP and didn’t ask for anything as memento like a paw print wishing I would have. I can’t thank this team enough. I am eternally grateful and could never repay the kindness done for Ellie and myself. Forgot to add this update Less than a week later I got a card signed by the staff. When I saw the print I couldn’t believe it. Ellie’s paw print. When I get another pet I’m 100% taking it to them for everything. I could never repay the kindness and helping me through a very difficult time.
