This place is amazing at the details that they provide and the attention that they give to your pet and the compassion for they show in regard to your worried feelings for your fur baby and their well-being. Quick to answer phones, easy to set an appointment and was able to get my dog seen less than one week of making the appointment which rarely ever happens anymore. I will definitely be going back and I highly recommend this as a go to for any medical concerns you may have for your pet!!! I love the staff đ

Welcome to Banfield Pet Hospital
Looking for a pet hospital in Layton, UT? Banfield Pet Hospital, located at 1290 N Main St, offers veterinary services to the local community. They can be reached at (801) 547-5090 or +1 801-547-5090.
According to one customer, Banfield Pet Hospital excels in providing detailed care and attention to pets, coupled with compassion for pet owners' concerns. They are also noted for their responsiveness to phone calls and efficient appointment scheduling, with one instance of a dog being seen within a week. This positive experience highlights a caring staff and relatively quick access to veterinary care for pet medical needs.
However, another customer reported a less satisfactory experience regarding appointment scheduling and communication. Initially, an appointment for a rabies vaccination was scheduled a week out. Subsequently, the appointment was changed, requiring a morning drop-off for an exam prior to the vaccination, which was not communicated at the time of the initial booking. This lack of clear communication and the resulting delay in obtaining a necessary vaccination led the customer to seek services elsewhere. This review suggests that while the staff may be caring, there might be inconsistencies in communication or scheduling procedures, particularly for specific services for new patients.
Overall, Banfield Pet Hospital in Layton, UT, appears to be a pet hospital that generally provides detailed and compassionate care with relatively prompt appointment availability. However, it's advisable for new clients to ensure clear communication regarding appointment procedures and any prerequisites for specific services to avoid potential scheduling conflicts or misunderstandings. Local users seeking comprehensive pet care may find Banfield to be a viable option, but clear communication regarding their pet's specific needs and the clinic's procedures is recommended.

Nov 21, 2024 · Kimberley ChristieI called Banfield after finding out my petâs rabies vaccine had expired and she needed her vaccination to get her groomed. I called to make the appointment and they scheduled her for an afternoon appointment a week later. I then received a phone call the day prior to her appointment saying that I would have to reschedule since she had not previously been seen before and I needed to drop her off in the morning and the doctor would do an exam and then let me know when I could pick her up?? Huh I just need a rabies vaccine? I told the receptionist I wish she would have told me or called me sooner since I have to wait 48 hours after her rabies shot to get her groomed. She said she didnât have any appointments until sometime in April. I will be going somewhere else.
Mar 18, 2025 · StephanieI recently visited this location with my 8yr old female Labrador Retriever due to a large lump on one of her breasts. My partner and I knew it was likely cancerous due to the mass of the lump. She also was struggling to jump on our bed suddenly and we wanted to get that checked as well. When we arrived we were greeted with very kind, polite, and respectful receptionists. The nurses were also very friendly. My dog and I were taken into a room and discussed the issues we were having with a nurse. She let me know I could leave my dog there to be examined and the doctor would call me with their diagnosis of the exam. I then left and approximately 30 min later I received a phone call from the doctor, Dr. Marrin. He said she was ready and that they didnât notice any physical issues when checking her for joint issues. I then had to ask about her lump rather than him telling me. He then blankly said âYeah itâs cancer.â I then had to pry and say âOkay?? So will she need surgery?â His response, âYeah.â Again I had to pry âHow much will that cost?â He then in a flustered tone said, âI donât know, Iâll have them write up an estimate.â That was the end of the phone call. I was baffled that he just told me that kind of earth shattering news over the phone in such a cold way. As I drove to pick up my dog I thought of more questions that I shouldnât have to ask like, âhow bad is it?â âwhat kind of cancer is it?â âwhat happens now??â âis my dog gonna die???â When I arrived I informed the receptionist that the doctor told me she had cancer and I would like more details and the estimate for the surgery. The receptionist and nurse standing nearby looked shocked because the doctor hadnât spoken to them about the matter at all. They had to physically bring him out to me and I had to ask all of the questions I could think of (how am I supposed to know what to ask?). I asked if I needed to get my dog spayed and he said âThereâs not really a point.â Come to find out from another vet at Animal Care in Clearfield (highly recommend btw) that the point of spaying her now would be to prevent cancer from coming back. While answering my questions he seemed to huff and puff like he didnât want to be there and didnât care about the gravity of the situation. I felt extremely uncomfortable even considering this man to do surgery on my dog. We sought out a second opinion with Animal Care in Clearfield. They offered to remove the tumor, do a biopsy, and spay her for almost $700 less than Banfield who estimated for only tumor removal and biopsy. I loved the staff here but if you want a vet that cares, do not go here.
Jan 28, 2025 · Indigo TaylorI made an appointment online, where I was given the option of vaccination or medical visit. I chose vaccination and was charged for a vaccine and a OFFICE VISIT. When I claimed, I was told that every vaccination has to pay for a that. I felt cheated. Apart from everything, when I got to leave my pet, not even the good morning gave me. In the end, OFFICE VISIT are just a piece of paper and cost twice the price of vaccination. This is really an offence, because I clearly expressed that I was only going for a vaccine and no body explain nothing.
Feb 10, 2025 · Ana SteinbachAll the employees were so knowledgeable, understanding & compassionate. They helped ease the burden of losing our pet on the same day they were attending to my daughter & son-in-law 2 dogs. It was a family affair at Banfield that day & they've gained a new client in me, I will take any future pets I own to these warm, delightful, educated & compassionate people.
