Worst location I’ve ever visited. The Vet tech was amazing! The customer service in the front not so much!! I dropped off my dog at 8:30 am and was advised he would be ready at 11:00 am, I tried calling at 11:45 am however no one answered the phone. NO ONE EVER ANSWERS THE PHONE AT THIS LOCATION!! The lady in the front was real quick to yell out you $755, no one gave me an updates on the appointment, any recommendations, NOTHING! When I asked I was advise that the doctor was in multiple surgeries all day which leaves me asking was my dog properly and thoroughly assessed. Additionally in the discharge paperwork it stated my dog has roundworm, no one told me anything! I was not given a prescription! The doctor called me to tell me he needed additional medicine for his heart and almost 48 hours later we have no prescription! The lady in the back was however real fast to offer me another service that was “discounted” from $74 to $63. This place made me feel like they didn’t care about my pet, it was all about the add ons, and the customer service was severely lacking. I am so disappointed I will be canceling my plan. We pay about $75 a month!!! You need to do better by your clients!

Welcome to Banfield Pet Hospital
Banfield Pet Hospital, located at 2135 Jericho Turnpike, Garden City Park, NY 11040, USA, operates within the platform category of "Pet Hospital," providing veterinary services and potentially related goods for sale. It is part of a larger chain of veterinary hospitals. The provided information consists of two customer reviews detailing significantly negative experiences at this specific location. Therefore, an objective introduction must be carefully constructed based on these accounts, acknowledging the criticisms raised.
Neither of the provided reviews offers positive insights into the environment of this Banfield Pet Hospital location. One review mentions a positive interaction with a "Vet tech," suggesting the presence of examination rooms and staff dedicated to assisting the veterinarians. However, the overall sentiment regarding the facility and its operations is negative. The second review, referencing the period after Banfield took over from a previous entity ("Crawford"), implies that the issues are ongoing and systemic. There is no mention of cleanliness, comfort, or specific features of the physical space in a positive light. Instead, the focus is on operational deficiencies that impact the client experience, which indirectly reflects on the overall environment of service.
Based on the negative customer feedback, the services offered at this Banfield Pet Hospital location include veterinary care. The first review details an appointment for a dog, including drop-off, assessment (though the thoroughness is questioned), and discharge. The services rendered included at least a health assessment and potentially diagnostic tests, as an X-ray was mentioned. The diagnosis of roundworm was made, although not communicated directly. The need for additional heart medication was identified by the doctor via a phone call, but the prescription was reportedly delayed. The second review broadly refers to "veterinary services" without detailing specific treatments. It is reasonable to assume that standard veterinary services such as wellness exams, vaccinations, diagnostics, and treatment of illnesses are offered. However, the quality and delivery of these services are heavily criticized in the reviews.
The features of this Banfield Pet Hospital location, as perceived by the reviewing customers, are predominantly negative. A significant issue highlighted is the severely lacking customer service, particularly at the front desk, described as "not so much" and where one staff member was "real quick to yell out" the total bill without providing updates or recommendations. A major point of contention is the difficulty in contacting the hospital via phone, with one reviewer stating that "NO ONE EVER ANSWERS THE PHONE AT THIS LOCATION!!" This creates a significant barrier to communication and follow-up care. The lack of proactive communication regarding a pet's assessment, diagnosis (roundworm), and treatment plan is another critical feature identified. The delay in providing a necessary prescription for heart medication further underscores operational inefficiencies. While one staff member in the back was quick to offer an "add on" service, this was perceived negatively in light of the poor core service delivery, leading to a feeling that the focus was on upselling rather than patient care. The second review points to systemic operational failures, a lack of patient-centered care (citing the drop-off appointments only policy and the exclusion of support people during visits), and an inefficient online scheduling system. The consistent theme across multiple negative reviews (referenced as "numerous reviews below") suggests a persistent lack of effort to improve based on patient feedback.
Given the overwhelmingly negative experiences detailed in the provided reviews, there is no mention of any positive promotional information. Instead, the feedback suggests fundamental issues with service delivery and operations that would likely negate any potential promotional efforts. One reviewer explicitly stated their intention to cancel their monthly care plan due to the poor service received, highlighting the negative impact of these issues on customer retention.
For local users in Garden City Park, NY, considering Banfield Pet Hospital at 2135 Jericho Turnpike, it is crucial to be aware of the significant concerns raised in the recent customer reviews. These reviews highlight severe deficiencies in customer service, communication, and operational efficiency. The difficulty in contacting the hospital by phone, the lack of updates on pet appointments, the failure to communicate diagnoses and treatment plans effectively, and delays in prescription fulfillment are major issues reported by customers. Additionally, there is a concerning perception of a focus on upselling rather than prioritizing patient care and clear communication. The second review indicates that these problems may be systemic and long-standing, with a lack of apparent improvement despite repeated negative feedback. Potential clients should weigh these serious concerns heavily when considering this Banfield Pet Hospital location for their pet's care and may want to explore alternative veterinary service providers in the area that demonstrate a higher standard of customer service and operational reliability.
In conclusion, the available customer reviews paint a concerning picture of the Banfield Pet Hospital located at 2135 Jericho Turnpike in Garden City Park, NY. While it functions as a "Pet Hospital" offering veterinary services, the reported severe lack of customer service, communication breakdowns, operational inefficiencies, and perceived prioritization of add-on services over core patient care raise significant red flags. Local users should carefully consider these negative experiences before entrusting their pets to this facility and may want to seek out alternatives with more positive and reliable service records.

Apr 05, 2025 · Natasha RodriguezEver since banfield took over for Crawford years ago we have consistently had negative experiences. You are lucky if you can even get through to them over the phone. They need a total overhaul of their operations. It is an operational disaster. You can tell by the numerous reviews below that no effort has been made to create change based off the theme in their patients comments. Such a shame. There is 0 service. And drop off appts only? Really? Covid times are over. If you want to be patient centered , allow pets their support people during their visits. Or in fact a good starting point would be to have a full time person to answer your phones. And then perhaps next you can figure out why your online scheduling system is not more efficient. We have transferred our care after giving this place too many chances. They are committed to bare minimum service and not listening to the voice of their patients. Spare this review a reply pls. Listen to all the negative reviews. They are facts. Fix your operations.
Apr 04, 2025 · Kerry DonohueWe’ve had several issues with the Banfield at Crawford in the past, but this time I think we’ve had enough. It seems that the scheduling system in the Banfield app and the clinic’s system do not align. We made an appointment over the phone, but when we arrived to the clinic, they said they didn’t have our dog scheduled and that his appointment was on a completely different day that we didn’t agree to. His scheduled appointment also didn’t appear on the app. We explained the situation and luckily they took our dog for a regular checkup. However, we had to wait nearly 5 HOURS for our dog to be done with his regular checkup, no vaccines or anything. We never had a problem with the staff but it seems that they are extremely short staffed. On top of that, no one answers the phone. This has been a recurring problem. I hope they fix it soon because they will lose more and more clients at this rate.
Dec 14, 2024 · Sharm ZNEVER AGAIN in my life would I spend another damn dime with this place if I could give them zero stars I would. Took my baby to get his teeth cleaned and a tooth extraction and they gave me back my dog wit dirty teeth an the tooth that needed to be extracted still in his mouth. An to top off upon looking at my dog I found a second that needed to be pulled. SMFH. $700 for what my babies teeth is still blasted dirty and not very clean as they should be when cleaned. Even tho some of the staff was understanding they still did NOT address the negligence.DR. Suzanne Yiseral needs to be held accountable for her stupidity and she got the nerve to call herself a vet that cares. They didn’t even offer me a refund seeing is that I have to take my dog to get a proper cleaning else where.
Jul 25, 2023 · CJ JexI have used Banfield in three states, and New York Banfield has been the most disappointing experience. The medical staff and personnel are great, but they are super busy and do not answer the phones. Unless you live near the facility or have the time to walk in to speak with a receptionist, you will most likely be S.O.L. If you have an older pet with existing issues, despite having the optimum wellness plan, they will cancel several appointments without providing alternative options. Unfortunately, this is a reoccurring issue...hence the 2 stars 🤷🏾♀️
