Took my kitten here and left in tears at how badly we were treated. I wish I could give negative stars. First the vet tech (Charlotte) was extremely rude and dismissive. She rolled her eyes at everything I said and asked “so what’s the concern” (my kitten was in a full splint…) as if she didn’t even bother to look at his chart. The vet came in and was dismissive and didn’t event want to change the splint or get x-rays. They said to get new x-rays of his paw with sedation (which is what the emergency vet suggested) it would cost $650 and they wouldn’t do it until the morning. When I asked them to replace his splint since his original splint got wet they were hesitant but agreed. They didn’t medicate my kitten at all and I could hear him screaming in the back as the vet techs laughed. When they brought him back to me they had given him a splint the size of his body that was taped to his fur (pictured) and came off not 2 minutes after they brought him back to me. On top of all of this the facility is filthy with hair all over the floor (pictured). Please do not come here it’s not worth it to receive subpar care and hear your baby crying in the back.

Welcome to Banfield Pet Hospital

Welcome to Banfield Pet Hospital, located at 265 Eastchester Dr #130, High Point, NC 27262, USA. As part of the Pet Hospital category, Banfield aims to provide a variety of veterinary services for your beloved pets. You can reach them at their phone number, (336) 884-4035, or via mobile at +1 336-884-4035, to inquire about their offerings or schedule an appointment.

Based on the customer reviews, the environment and the quality of service at this Banfield Pet Hospital location appear to have contrasting experiences. One reviewer described the facility as "filthy with hair all over the floor," which suggests potential concerns regarding cleanliness. This same reviewer also detailed an upsetting experience involving a seemingly rude and dismissive vet tech, a vet who was reluctant to provide necessary care (like changing a wet splint or ordering X-rays without significant upfront cost), and a distressing situation where their kitten was allegedly heard screaming without medication during splint replacement, followed by the application of an ill-fitting splint. This paints a picture of a potentially negative environment and subpar care in this instance.

Conversely, another long-term customer (nearly 10 years) described the facility as "tidy and welcoming" and praised the staff for being "always helpful and polite" and genuinely invested in their patients' care. This suggests that experiences can vary significantly at this location.

As a part of a larger network of pet hospitals, Banfield Pet Hospital in High Point likely offers a range of services typically found in a comprehensive veterinary practice. These often include:

  • Routine wellness exams and vaccinations tailored to your pet's life stage and needs.
  • Dental care services, including professional cleanings to maintain your pet's oral health.
  • Surgical procedures, which can range from routine spays and neuters to other necessary surgeries.
  • Diagnostic services, potentially including laboratory work and imaging (though one review mentioned a significant cost for sedation and X-rays).
  • Treatment for illnesses and injuries.
  • Preventative care, including parasite control.

One of the notable features often associated with Banfield is their Optimum Wellness Plan. As mentioned by the positive reviewer, this plan can make services more competitively priced and potentially "practically pays for itself twice over" by including various in-plan benefits. This suggests that Banfield aims to make consistent pet care more accessible through these wellness plans.

However, the stark contrast in the provided reviews highlights a critical aspect for potential customers: the quality of care and the environment can be perceived very differently by different individuals. The negative review raises serious concerns about staff attitude, the level of care provided in specific situations (especially regarding pain management and appropriate treatment), and the cleanliness of the facility. On the other hand, the positive review emphasizes helpful and polite staff, a tidy facility, and the financial benefits of the Optimum Wellness Plan.

Regarding promotional information, the positive review indirectly mentions the Optimum Wellness Plan as a way to make services more affordable, suggesting this is a key offering that could be considered a form of promotional value for ongoing pet care. However, no specific limited-time promotions or discounts are mentioned in the provided text.

In summary, Banfield Pet Hospital in High Point, NC, operating under the Pet Hospital platform, offers a range of veterinary services and features the Optimum Wellness Plan. However, the customer reviews present a mixed picture. While one long-term customer praises the helpful staff, tidy facility, and the value of the wellness plan, another recent customer reported a very negative experience characterized by rude staff, reluctance to provide necessary care, alleged mistreatment of their pet, and concerns about the facility's cleanliness. Potential customers should be aware of these differing perspectives when considering this clinic for their pet's care.

Given the conflicting feedback, it would be prudent for local users to consider these experiences when making a decision. If you are interested in a wellness plan for routine care, Banfield might be an option to explore further by contacting them at (336) 884-4035 to understand the specifics of their plans and current offerings. However, it would also be wise to weigh this against the negative experience reported, particularly concerning the level of immediate care and the facility's condition as perceived by that customer.

My family has been taking our cats and dogs to this location for almost 10 years. Staff are always helpful and polite, and really invested into getting to know and care for their patients. Facility is tidy and welcoming. Services are priced competitively; even better with an Optimum Wellness Plan (practically pays for itself twice over after all in-plan benefits are fully taken advantage of). 10/10 recommend this Banfield location.

I am writing this review specifically for Dr Lee. Most of the veterinarians I have seen have been good but Dr. Lee has been the best by far. She takes time to listen and explains situations very well and detailed. We are facing some difficult decisions with our dog and she has been so understanding and is assisting every step of the way with information and decision making. Very appreciative!

This Banfield location is the WORST!! Needed my dog to be seen as soon as possible so I made an appointment on the app for that afternoon. I get there and there was nobody upfront so I had to wait about 5 min, then when I tell them I was there for a appointment the guy proceeds to tell me the Dr has left for the day…I asked why was I able to make an appointment if she has already left? I then proceed to ask if I could still be seen. He proceeds to look at me like I was at fault and said as I was going to say, I was going to see if the other Dr can see you. He proceeds to go to the back and a second later a lady comes out and says the other Dr can’t see you…again, I asked why did it allow me to make an appointment and I drive all the way here and can’t be seen?! She said she has no control over that and walks away. No I’m sorry for the inconvenience, nothing! They were both SO RUDE! Luckily I was able to get my dog in to be seen at his regular location and that were shocked at how I was treated. I will NEVER go back to the High Point location, from the other reviews the rudeness hasn’t been addressed.

I brought my dog here for his comprehensive exam and the behavior of Dr. Anderson was absolutely disgusting. After having a bad experience at a previous Banfield location, my dog is now fear-reactive to the vet. He was wearing a muzzle and was exhibiting aggressive behavior towards the vet assistant and Dr. Anderson when they tried to give him the exam. I understand that Dr. Anderson was not comfortable giving my dog his exam because of his behavior, but the way that she communicated that to me was aggressive, and the most unacceptable behavior that I have ever seen from a veterinarian. She did not even greet me when she entered the room, instead she began shouting “WHY IS THIS DOG NOT ON MEDICATION? THIS DOG NEEDS TO BE ON MEDICATION!!!”. Her body language was also aggressive, and I can assure you that did not help the fear that my dog was already feeling. The tone of voice that she was using, and the fact that she was yelling in front of my dog while he was stressed also did not help the situation. She then proceeds to say “HAS HE BEEN TRAINED? HAS ANYONE TRAINED THIS DOG?” In, once again, a very aggressive voice. My dog has been trained so I say “He has been and is trained.” And she ROLLS HER EYES and says “BY WHO??”. I was very uncomfortable with this interaction at this point and also angry so I say, “By ME!” Considering it appears that she does not understand how fear reactivity works, I tell her that it is difficult to work on desensitization with a fearful Shepherd. Just because a dog is fearful, does not mean that it is not trained, and the behavior that she was exhibiting in front of my dog was making him more upset. Anyone who trains their dog would understand that. When she leaves the room, the vet assistant apologized for Dr. Anderson’s behavior. I tell her that it is unacceptable for not only me as a customer, but for the staff as well. Based on the short conversation I had with the vet assistant it seems that this is a reoccurring thing, and it is common for Dr. Anderson to behave this way, and speak to the staff with an attitude and in an aggressive manner. When I asked the vet assistant if I could have my dog’s prescription filled at an outside pharmacy, she goes to ask Dr. Anderson and I hear her say “NO SHE CAN NOT!!”. I can tell that the vet assistant is upset by Dr. Anderson’s behavior when she comes back into the room, and thankfully, she gets another vet to write the prescription for me. I was in tears when I left because of how unacceptable and disgusting this experience has been because of Dr. Anderson’s behavior towards me and my dog. Regardless of the circumstances, you should never speak to someone that way. It does not matter how frustrated you are. Dr. Anderson’s behavior was unprofessional and just plain rude. The only reason I am giving two stars is because of the kindness that the receptionist and vet assistant showed me and my dog while we were there. After they apologized once again for Dr. Anderson’s behavior, I apologized to them because they have to work with someone who behaves in such an unacceptable and unprofessional manner. It frustrates me even more to know that I am not the only one to have been treated by that veterinarian so rudely. I apologize for the lengthy review but this needed to be said so it will hopefully be dealt with for the sake of the staff and other customers.
