UPDATE: Today my family received a sympathy card from Banfield after having to have our dog Oso put to sleep on June 1st 2024. As soon as we opened it, we all started crying. It was so special and thoughtful of them to do that. It even had his paw print. It was his last gift to us. Thank you so much for doing it. I'm going to buy a frame for it and hang it on my wall. Thank you, thank you, thank you! :) Very kind, compassionate, and knowledgeable people. The best place to take our pet. I highly recommend!

To say this Banfield and many of its locations have disappointed my pet and I is an understatement. This location in particular has lost all of my trust to the point where after 3 years as a loyal customer, I will be looking for another vet clinic. Today, my dog came into this location with the only symptom, bloody diarrhea. Initially, I reached out to the vet chat yesterday to discuss this diarrhea where that person said I shouldn’t be too worried as she has no other symptoms of illness. They recommended I put her on a rice and chicken diet with lots of water. Later that day, I get a call from this Banfield location saying they saw this vet chat and were concerned for my dog and that I should bring her in the next day for an appointment. I thought nothing of it and that they would do a routine checkup given she was showing no other signs of illness. Once I arrive, they explain they want to do the following tests: giardia, pancreatitis, and stool sample along with my request of a nail trimming and anal gland cleaning. I agreed to all of this and left my pet with them. Later on, I get a call from the vet doctor, Dr. Hassanzadeh, saying that my dog is too much to handle and will need to be sedated in order to get these tests done. I agreed, as I know she has severe anxiety and is a Belgian Malinois. I got another call back an hour later from the doctor explaining he finished the tests and everything came back negative, she just must have eaten something bad. Additionally, he goes on to tell me he gave my dog IV fluid therapy and an antibiotic injection (without my prior knowledge or consent). I told him I was not aware of this but he said she needed it so he went ahead and gave it to her. I pushed back and said this is not acceptable as I was not aware of these charges nor anything extra. I also ask if they completed the nail trimmings and anal gland cleaning which he responded they didn't have enough time to do it because he rushed the tests while she was under sedation and he had other patients to get to. So you’re going to tell me I just paid $225 for sedation for you to do other shots and fluids that I did not consent to instead of doing what I specifically asked? He said they squeezed my dog in for an appointment today so he had to rush everything with her and yet I was the one who was offered an appointment with no indication the doctor was too busy today to handle my dog with care. He goes on to say I need to pick up my dog right away because she is barking too much and is an inconvenience to him and other patients. I said excuse me? I have brought my dog here for years, with no issue with her barking (along with other patient’s dogs barking) and I don’t appreciate you saying I must pick her up right away. He quickly changed his tone to say he meant it is best for her to be picked up for her own health. See the pictures for the complete review/story.

Would give no stars if I could... I adopted a kitten from a feral living situation and needed a quick checkup. Everything was going great, until she took him in back to weigh him. I heard a loud cat screech and a few minutes later, my kitten came back to me wrapped in a blanket and covered in pee. I was told that a big dog was back there and scared the kitten. I figured, okay, stuff happens, and went about my day. A few weeks later, my older cat had been vomiting for 2 days and I was encouraged to take him in to see a vet. It was Thanksgiving weekend and all the vets were closed, so I reached out to this facility. I spoke to someone on the phone and mentioned that my cat would likely need to be sedated or anesthetized to examine him as he's not great with the vet's office. They assured me they have to do this all the time and that it would not be a problem. I was told to bring him in at 1PM. I dropped him off and was told I would get a call as soon as they were able to examine him. At 4:30, I had not heard anything, so I called. I was told that my cat was not able to be examined or even taken out of the carrier, because he was combative. I spoke to the vet on the phone and he encouraged me to pick my cat up in 30 minutes as opposed to immediately, because they were going to give him a shot for nausea. I arrived 30 minutes later to find my cat had NOT been given a shot, had vomit and feces all over him and the carrier and was very loudly vocalizing in the back. I was told they tried to give him the shot through the cage top, but that they weren't successful. I was given a pill to give him, in spite of the fact that he couldn't keep anything down??? I went to leave and was told I owed over $100 for the exam. I asked "what exam, you didn't do one" and was then told that they were charging for an "office visit and because my cat bit the vet tech". I sent a complaint to corporate and was told that area management would get back to me in 3-5 business days. It's been 3 weeks and no response. This place should not be in business.
