Absolutely wonderful place. You can feel it when you walk in the door. They couldn't have been better with me and my family during such a difficult time. Staff was so sweet and kind. They gave us all the time we needed with our cat before he was put down due to his age and health issues. Bea was AMAZING. I love her. Dr. Bullock was so nice and caring. Betsy was wonderful as well, made sure we were ok and brought us water and even gave me a hug when I picked up his ashes. All the staff was nice! They also mailed a card to my house the staff wrote in with his paw print which was so nice. I will 100% be bringing my other cats here. Highly recommend.

The Farmingdale Seven Daughters location is equipped to handle a wide array of veterinary needs, featuring essential diagnostic and treatment technologies. This includes digital radiology for clear imaging and in-house laboratory capabilities for quick blood work and other essential tests. The facility aims to make visits as stress-free as possible, recognizing that vet visits can sometimes be anxious for pets.
The compassionate atmosphere is frequently highlighted in customer reviews. Clients mention that they "feel it when you walk in the door," indicating a palpable sense of care and warmth. This empathetic environment is especially crucial during difficult times, such as end-of-life care, where the staff's kindness and willingness to provide ample time and support are greatly appreciated. This focus on comfort and emotional support for both pets and their families is a cornerstone of the Banfield experience.
Banfield Pet Hospital (Farmingdale Seven Daughters) offers a comprehensive range of veterinary services, primarily for dogs and cats. Their service model places a strong emphasis on preventive care through their unique Optimum Wellness Plans® (OWP), alongside offering a wide array of medical and surgical treatments.
- Preventive and Wellness Care: This is a core focus, including routine check-ups, tailored vaccination protocols (e.g., Distemper/Parvo, Bordetella, Leptospirosis, Lyme disease, Rabies), and comprehensive parasite control programs. OWPs are designed to cover these routine needs.
- Diagnostics and Imaging: The hospital utilizes various methods to diagnose and treat illnesses, including digital radiography (X-rays) for internal assessments and in-house laboratory diagnostics for immediate blood tests, urinalysis, and fecal exams. For more complex cases, they also offer advanced diagnostic tests like preventive X-rays, eye pressure tests, and electrocardiograms, often included in higher-tier OWP plans.
- Surgical Services: Standard surgical services are provided, including spaying and neutering, and general soft tissue surgeries. Customer reviews mention successful spaying and hernia repair procedures, highlighting the informative nature and clean work of their surgeons.
- Dental Care: Professional teeth cleaning and other dental services are available, with some dental services being included in specific OWP tiers (e.g., Active Care Plus).
- Microchipping: For pet identification and safety, microchipping services are offered.
- DNA Testing: WISDOM PANEL™ canine DNA tests are available, which can help determine a pet's breed mix and potential genetic health risks.
- End-of-Life Care: A highly praised service, Banfield provides compassionate end-of-life care. This includes supporting families during euthanasia, ensuring pets are comfortable, and offering thoughtful gestures like paw prints and mailed condolence cards, which demonstrate a deep level of empathy.
- Behavioral Counseling: They provide support and advice for pet behavioral issues.
- Nutritional Counseling: Guidance on optimal pet nutrition and weight management.
- In-house Pharmacy and Online Pharmacy: For convenient access to prescribed medications and pet products.
- Medical Grooming: Certain medical grooming services may be available.
A distinctive feature of Banfield Pet Hospital is its Optimum Wellness Plans® (OWP). These are not pet insurance but rather affordable, comprehensive packages of preventive care services available for dogs, puppies, cats, and kittens. OWPs aim to make essential wellness care simple and affordable through monthly or yearly installments. They typically include unlimited office visits, comprehensive physical exams (often twice a year), routinely recommended vaccinations, diagnostic testing (like blood tests and fecal exams), and discounts on many other Banfield products and services not covered by the plan.
The compassionate and dedicated staff is another hallmark, repeatedly lauded in customer testimonials. Dr. Bullock is specifically mentioned as "so nice and caring," while other staff members like Bea and Betsy are praised for their extraordinary kindness, taking the time needed with families during difficult moments and offering emotional support. This level of personalized, empathetic care creates a positive and supportive environment, fostering trust and loyalty from pet owners.
Being part of a national network provides Banfield Pet Hospital with significant resources, including access to a vast knowledge base and potentially specialized services through referral within the network. This network strength allows for consistent protocols and a broad base of veterinary expertise.
Technological integration for client convenience is also a feature, including online access to pet medical records and appointment scheduling through the MyBanfield site or app. Some OWP tiers also include virtual services like virtual office visits and 24/7 Pet Chat™ with veterinary professionals, offering immediate pet care advice from the comfort of home.
Banfield Pet Hospital's primary promotional strategy revolves around its Optimum Wellness Plans®. These plans are designed to offer significant savings (often more than 30%) on preventive pet care compared to paying for individual services. There are various OWP packages tailored to different needs, ages, and lifestyles of pets (e.g., Active Care, Active Care Plus, Special Care for dogs and cats), with pricing varying based on the specific plan and pet type.
Key promotional aspects of the OWPs include:
- Cost Savings: By bundling preventive services, OWPs offer a more affordable way to manage routine pet healthcare expenses.
- Budgeting Convenience: The option to pay monthly or annually with no interest fees helps pet owners budget for their pet's care.
- Unlimited Office Visits: A significant benefit, as this eliminates additional "office visit" fees for covered services, encouraging owners to seek care whenever concerns arise.
- Discounts on Other Services: OWP members typically receive discounts (ranging from 10% to 20% depending on the plan level) on most other Banfield products and services not included in their OWP package, such as parasite preventives, prescriptions (excluding custom compounded), and medical tests or services.
- Proactive Health Management: The plans encourage regular check-ups and diagnostic testing, which can lead to early detection of potential health issues, ultimately contributing to longer, healthier lives for pets.
- Virtual Care Options: Higher-tier plans may include virtual visits and 24/7 Pet Chat™, adding a layer of convenience and immediate support for pet owners.
While the OWPs focus on preventive care and do not cover accidents or illnesses (unlike traditional pet insurance), they are an excellent option for managing routine veterinary expenses. Banfield also sometimes offers promotional incentives for new OWP enrollments. Pet owners interested in the specifics of plan inclusions, pricing, and any current enrollment offers are encouraged to contact the Farmingdale Seven Daughters location directly or visit the Banfield Pet Hospital website for detailed information.
In conclusion, Banfield Pet Hospital (Farmingdale Seven Daughters) provides a robust and compassionate veterinary experience in Farmingdale, NY. With its strong emphasis on preventive care through the Optimum Wellness Plans®, a team known for its kindness and professionalism, and access to the resources of a national network, it offers a comprehensive and supportive environment for the care of beloved pets.

Apr 03, 2025 · Haylei ZilmI have never written a google review before but this warrants one. We were looking for a new vet and we tried this vet. The first visit was okay except for the price for a pedicure which was $30 and they just cut her nails. They also tried to get us for everything under the sun which is the norm at any vet we go to. We initially went in because our dog got bit by a tick and we were worried about Lyme disease. They told us they will test her but she came up negative because it was too soon understandably. We called back this morning and because our dog was showing signs of weakness in her legs which is the main symptom of Lyme disease we asked to get her tested with a technician which, mind you, she had an appointment for next Wednesday to do this! They told us NO that she had to come in for a full panel and check up which when we asked the cost was over $900. They work off of your love for your pet and will exploit you for money. We argued and they would not see our dog which forced us to go somewhere else. We therefore went to the Farmingdale Dog and Cat Clinic up the road and they took her in gave her an exam and tested her for Lyme (exactly what we wanted). She came back positive of course and was given antibiotics for less than $200. I called Banfield back after we got the result and asked to speak to a manager but instead of doing that they put the same person I spoke earlier with on the phone who was not professional and kept justifying a $900 exam. I honestly would not recommend this place to anyone. They do not truly care about your animals and want to take your money! It is so sad! Go to the Farmingdale Dog and Cat Clinic which is up the road! To make matters worse its National Pet day today April 11th, 2025!!
Apr 11, 2025 · Koriene PetrelliI have been to many Banfields in my pets’ lives, and I loved this location. From the front desk staff to the Vet Techs and Veterinarians, everyone was so welcoming and compassionate. They always tried to accommodate my unique requests for my crazy dogs. I am very particular about my dogs and who cares for them, and I never had any worries here. This location is the absolute best
