I got a new dog and I took him in for the first time on Thursday in which he got some vaccines and I was offered the option to get Benadryl in which I said yes to avoid any allergic reactions which is what he is having now. I even mentioned to the person that I spoke with that I had another appointment to go to and I did not want to be worried about him having any reactions while I was not at home . This hospital has cameras in the room in which they can go back to check that I did say yes to the pre-vaccine but it was not given to him. I spoke to someone yesterday on (2/28) and around 10am they told me to bring him in before 12pm. I was at work at the time because my dog’s vomiting has stopped and I work over an hour away from where I live and I had to go back and get the dog ready so I wasn’t going to make it there before 12. I called again today 03/01 and the lady on the phone was completely rude in which she even made a rude comment about having kids which has nothing to do with the situation or my reason for calling and she proceeded to tell me that I apparently refused treatment which it’s clear on the cameras i didn’t. I was there for over 2 hours in which they started explaining the plans to me before even seeing the dog because they care more about the money than the health of pets . I asked if I could bring him in to get seen and she said no when in my plan it Clearly states “unlimited visits” in which I am also paying for. I know that the response I will get from all of this by the owner is a very basic apology which is not okay. To some of us our pets are our kids and there’s people that can’t have kids so the comment about kids by the person that picked up the phone was very offensive and uncalled for.

Mar 01, 2025 · Karen majanoI have been to this location many times before and was given outstanding customer service. Until my last visit.! WILL NOT BE RETURNING. 1st: My last visit 10/2024 was the worst experience I ever had the lady at Check in was a young Spanish lady(she didn't provide her name)on her cell phone when we arrived and didn't notice us standing in front of her. She was very rude with an attitude to top it off. By the way I never seen or spoke to a Doctor for my in person visit had to view results within the app NEVER GOT A CALL BACK FOR ABNORMAL LAB RESULTS. 2ed: I had a in person visit schedule/which was confirmed by the lady who called to verify my appointment., When the tech came from the back she call us then proceed to place a leach around my pups neck, telling me that they would call me in 2hrs with any updates. I explained that my appointment wasn't a drop off visit. The tech told me that the Doctor was very very busy and my only options were to leave my pup or allow them to do labs/testing then would call me back with results. OK the labs/testing took 30mins then me pup went home.
Nov 11, 2024 · Only OneI cannot express enough gratitude for the exceptional care and compassion my dog Lennox and I received at Banfield Animal Hospital in Laurel. Lennox was in terrible pain and wouldn't let anyone touch him because of it. I was desperate and overwhelmed, calling several animal hospitals, only to be told they couldn't help us. Then I called Banfield in Laurel, and everything changed. Brittney answered the phone, and from the moment she spoke, I felt a sense of hope. She was the greatest help ever—calming, kind, and incredibly understanding as I explained the situation through tears. Even though the hospital was fully booked, she went above and beyond, speaking to the doctor on our behalf. Thanks to her efforts, Dr. Owens was able to see us at 11 a.m. When I arrived, still emotional and nervous, I was greeted by Tyler, who was equally sweet and understanding. As a first-time pet owner, I was completely out of my depth and scared for Lennox, but Tyler’s kindness and patience helped ease my anxiety. Dr. Owens was nothing short of amazing. Her expertise, care, and calm demeanor reassured me that Lennox was in the best hands possible. She took the time to assess him and provide the treatment he needed, despite the unexpected nature of the visit. Thanks to the incredible teamwork of Brittney, Tyler, and Dr. Owens, Lennox is already showing signs of improvement. As I write this, I’m watching him rest more comfortably, and it brings me so much relief and gratitude. Experiencing a crisis with your pet is overwhelming, but having a team like the one at Banfield Animal Hospital in Laurel makes all the difference. They not only provided top-notch care for Lennox but also supported me emotionally through one of the most challenging moments I’ve faced as a pet owner. Words truly aren’t enough to convey my appreciation for their compassion, professionalism, and kindness. Thank you, Brittney, Tyler, and Dr. Owens—you are heroes in my eyes, and I will forever be grateful for the care you gave to me and my Lennox. If you’re looking for an animal hospital with a team that genuinely cares about your pet and you as an owner, Banfield in Laurel is the place to go. They turned a stressful, emotional experience into one of comfort and hope, and I can’t thank them enough. ❤️🐾
Jan 23, 2025 · Tia StemnMy pet recently passed away and they threw her carrier in the trash without my consent. I brought it to their attention and they said that I could pick another one out… something that can’t be replaced. They made it a mission to call and remind me of a balance that I owe but not her carrier. That was the last thing that I had of hers thinking that I would be picking it up with her ashes.
Dec 19, 2024 · Jasmine RichI waited for about 40 minutes in the morning for a “Drop Off” appointment. The check in process didn’t take but 5 minutes. It should not have taken them 35 minutes to come get my dog from the lobby. We saw Dr. Jones. Overall the vet was knowledgeable on his illness. Several pricey recommendations were made. Banfield tends to “recommend” services to you that you don’t really need since most of the doctors get paid off of production. Before pick up, I received a call stating the doctor wanted to speak to me in person. When picking my dog up I waited an hour to speak to Dr. Jones. About 30 minutes into my wait I overheard the front desk say she was in a meeting (from 5p to 6pm). Had I been made aware of this, I would have left and came back or not arrived during the meeting at all. After an hour, I told the front desk to tell the doctor to call me because I had to leave. 30 seconds later the doctor came out and talked to me for 2 minutes. Nothing said needed to be said in person. I left at about 6:15; they close at 6. There were still people waiting in the lobby when I left. I requested copies of the images from the visit at check out. I was told they would be emailed. It’s been two weeks…I haven’t received them. I’ve visited other Banfield locations in Northern Virginia. Our experiences on that side of DC have been much better. I highly recommend trying a different location if you can.
