Dr. Sally Forsyth and her team are incredible. We had an emergency where our Great Pyrenees/Golden mix started bloating and our regular vet was out of town. I was directed to go straight to the urgent care in Alpharetta (about an hour drive). As I was on my way to urgent care, I passed by Ball Ground Animal Hospital and thought maybe I could run in and see if they would be willing to take a look at our sweet girl. Dr. Sally Forsyth handled our pup with the utmost love and care, doing x-rays and treating her bloat. She kept her there to monitor her for a couple hours to make sure her stomach didn't flip. Thankfully she is back home and taking it easy, all thanks to the wonderful care at Ball Ground Animal Hospital. Thank you for taking such great care our precious Nova on such an urgent emergency.

Dr. Forsyth & Dr. Gerlach have taken care of our 5 dogs and 1 cat furry babies for many years. They are stellar, and so is all the staff. It's a small town vet, and I enjoy going in even if my babies don't. It's nice when you walk in, and Hesper(Receptionist) knows who we are. The Docs are caring and make sure our animals are well cared for and the dog parents are educated. I'll be very sad when they retire.

I just wanted to share my gratitude with the staff here for taking in my sweet Kiwi on such short notice. We just moved to Georgia from Charlotte North Carolina less than two weeks ago and my sweet boy was suffering from an eye infection. They not only took him in that day but were able to determine what the issue was and gave me great advice on how to prevent this from happening again. He’s already looking better after one day of medication. Thank you so much for taking care of my sweet boy! This will be my regular vet from here on out.

I waited several weeks to post a review, to give myself time to think if it was worth it… and based on the second opinion from another vet and the WONDERFUL experience I had there…. I would say yes, but I’ll let you decide! Came here strictly because of the good reviews. Called in and was told it would be two months… when calling in it seemed like she already assumed I would say no because of the wait, but I decided to wait the two months since we were going to be a new patient. Asked for a confirmation of the appointment of some sort since it’s two months out, she said “we don’t do that”. Waited the two months, and boy oh boy was it the biggest disappointment. Arrived about 20 minutes early to our appointment and checked in. Wasn’t really greeted or felt welcome. Decided to sit in the Lobby…. Lobby is about the size of a van. There were about 4 other dogs and parents crammed in there. I have a large dog with a very excited temperament… he likes to jump, wag his tail, play, etc. I decided to wait outside out of respect for other owners/dogs. I proceeded to wait 30 minutes after our appointment time. When I was outside I spoke with an older lady that stated she had come for her sick cat and she has spent $700 on random tests and medicines and they don’t seem to know what’s going on, but they hope to find out soon. Felt like that was my first red flag. Finally, a girl with curly black hair opened the door for our appointment and her first words were , “Is he just not good?”….. No…. He’s a good dog, just excited. Her response was basically we need to weigh him in the Lobby so we need to figure it out. I was able to get him weighed. They brought me to a room… I waited ANOTHER 15 minutes…. Felt like I was waiting forever for there to not be many people and considering the fact that we were on time for our appointment. Older man finally comes in with the same curly haired younger lady. Long story short, I told him I get my dog yearly preventive dental cleans…. Rather than praise, or positivity his response was, “well that seems a little over the top” LOL. He was questioning if I actually knew what a dental was….”are you sure? Like under anesthesia?”…The rudest comments I’ve ever heard. They decided to put a rope collar over my dog, and the curly haired lady DRAGGED my Great Dane by the neck (he was clearly uncomfortable and gagging because it was so tight). I had to jam two fingers under the rope and literally said “Jesus” and looked at her. She appeared annoyed he was a little anxious. I basically had to prop open his mouth gently and basically complete the appointment myself. Lady was aggressive, the man was sarcastic. He basically kept making a joke out of it like I was being “over the top” about a dental, and “don’t waste my money”. He told me to wait until next year. Checked out after our appointment, lady at the front was dry and kind of ignored me. Probably the worst experience I have EVER had. Dog came home and slept the rest of the day after this traumatic FIRST appointment. I would never ever leave my dog with them. After my second opinion, the doctor gathered that my dog had early stage gingivitis. That second opinion also took before and after photos… If you’re still with me at this point…I’ll let you guys decide if I was over the top, or if Ball Ground Vet strictly didn’t give any care about me or a “new patient”. BEYOND disgusted and disappointed, and I will never recommend anyone to use them if they care about their animal.
