We had to put our Lab down back in Sept. And the staff and Dr was so respectful and talked to us through the whole process. They were there with us as we were telling stories to them about her. The caring was above and beyond and they dont push anything.

Dr. John Riddle (the owner) was our vet. June 2024 we brought our dog Layla to get her eye looked at, it was just a tad red nothing major. They gave us eye cream. Didn't work, so we went back.... steroid ointment, 3 rounds of antibiotics, inflammatories, medical drops,(I totally get trial and error in this situation) and pain meds (*indefinitely*) We were told she had cancer and not much longer to live, that we should consider putting her down if she started showing pain. Over $1200 & 6 vet visits later and 5 months later we thought that was it. Her nose and behind her eye started swelling up bad a few days later and we rushed her to the ER.(different vet) They sent us home with strong 10 day antibiotics and THAT started working almost immediately. When we ran out we got another 10 day round from this vet. Her eye was just about half way healed at this point. It was trouble getting the second round of antibiotics, the owner said he did not want her to build up an immunity. We got another 10 day round from them (30 days of these antibiotics are just fine)ESPECIALLY for what we found out is a BACTERIAL ABCESS after we decided this vet has Wasted time, money and most importantly put our baby through unnecessary pain instead of trying a stronger antibiotic like our new vet. Her eye is almost completely healed now! its been It's been two weeks and her eye is almost healed!! Cost $90 (other vet here in Athens, they're great.) Please be cautious with bringing your animals here, if i hadn't taken her to that ER she would have probably had to be put down due to the progress of the abscess. Why this vet didnt just write her a strong prescription to try and atleast see before calling it quits... anyway..She is happy and back to being herself again:) Just avoid this place is my suggestion.
