Welcome to ARK ANIMAL HOSPITAL
Welcome to ARK ANIMAL HOSPITAL, a Pet Hospital located at 2901 W Exposition Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90018, USA. ARK ANIMAL HOSPITAL is recognized by its patrons for providing affordable veterinary care, making it a valuable resource for pet owners seeking quality medical attention for their animals without incurring exorbitant costs. The hospital is also noted for its friendly, bilingual staff, striving to create a welcoming environment for both pets and their owners.
Based on customer reviews, the environment of ARK ANIMAL HOSPITAL has both positive and negative aspects. On the positive side, the staff is consistently described as "genuinely friendly" and "nice," contributing to a positive atmosphere. The hospital is also in the process of "ever expanding the front reception area to accommodate more customers," indicating a commitment to growth and potentially improving the client experience. However, one reviewer pointed out that the clinic itself is "SMALL" and the reception area is "UNCOMFORTABLE," citing issues with echoing noise from outside transit that can scare cats, and narrow, hard benches that make waiting for extended periods unpleasant. This suggests that while the staff's demeanor is a strength, the physical space might be less comfortable, especially during busy times.
ARK ANIMAL HOSPITAL offers a range of veterinary services, as indicated by customer experiences:
- Spay/Neuter Services: Multiple cats have been successfully "fixed" at this location, and it is listed as a recommended vet by a local shelter for these procedures. However, it's important to note that they may only accept discount coupons for these services and not free spay/neuter certificates.
- Treatment of Infections: The hospital has provided care for a cat's wound infection and ringworm, demonstrating their ability to handle common ailments.
- Vaccinations: Vaccinations are "done quickly," suggesting efficiency in this aspect of preventative care.
- General Consultations and Diagnostics: The mention of a consultation fee indicates that they offer veterinary assessments. The vets are described as "kind" and "clear with diagnostics."
- Post-Surgical Care: They call owners once their pet has woken up after a spay/neuter procedure, showing they provide post-operative updates.
A significant feature of ARK ANIMAL HOSPITAL is its affordability, which is repeatedly highlighted as a major benefit, especially for pet owners who find veterinary expenses challenging. The friendly and bilingual staff is another notable positive aspect, contributing to a welcoming and accessible experience for a diverse clientele. The fact that they are recommended by a local shelter further attests to their standing within the animal welfare community.
However, potential drawbacks include the "incredibly limited" parking with a potentially hazardous fence, the small and uncomfortable reception area with long potential wait times (up to 5 hours for walk-ins when appointments are fully booked, sometimes a month in advance), and a consultation fee of $40 (plus a possible extra charge for card payments) that is due upfront. It's also noted that the clinic sees many dogs, which might be a consideration for owners of anxious cats.
Promotional information is not explicitly detailed in the reviews. However, the emphasis on affordability could be seen as an ongoing value proposition. The fact that they are a recommended vet by a shelter might also imply some form of collaboration or discounted services for shelter animals or adopters, though this is not directly stated.
You can reach ARK ANIMAL HOSPITAL by phone at (323) 402-0039 or mobile phone at +1 323-402-0039. Their address is 2901 W Exposition Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90018, USA. If you are in the Los Angeles area and prioritize affordable pet care with a friendly, bilingual staff, ARK ANIMAL HOSPITAL could be a viable option. However, be prepared for potential parking issues, a less comfortable waiting area, and potentially long wait times if you choose to walk in without an appointment. Booking well in advance or calling to inquire about the day's schedule for walk-ins is recommended.
In conclusion, ARK ANIMAL HOSPITAL offers affordable veterinary services in Los Angeles, with a kind and bilingual team. They provide a range of care including spay/neuter, vaccinations, and treatment for common conditions. While their affordability and staff are praised, the clinic's small size, limited parking, and uncomfortable waiting area with potentially long waits are factors to consider. If you value cost-effective pet care and a friendly staff, ARK ANIMAL HOSPITAL may be a good choice, provided you plan your visit accordingly, preferably by booking an appointment in advance. We encourage you to contact them at (323) 402-0039 to discuss your pet's needs and appointment availability.

Apr 24, 2025 · Lake shia SmithI’ve been bringing my 6 cats here for the past year bc they’re affordable, nearby, friendly, and in the list of recommended vets from my nearest shelter. Got 5/6 of my cats fixed here. They helped with my cat’s wound infection and ringworm. They’re ever expanding the front reception area to accommodate more customers. They accept walk-ins when appointments are booked. So here’s why I’m only rating it three stars. The clinic is SMALL. First, the parking is incredibly limited with a fence that limits it even more. I have half a mind to knock it down after bumping my (compact!!!!) car on it. The reception area is UNCOMFORTABLE. It echoes all the loud transit from outside which scares my poor cats and the benches are too narrow and too hard it’s uncomfortable sitting there over an hour. It needs more comfort especially since sometimes walk-ins can take up to 5 hours of wait time because appointments are booked for the next month, and it’s such agony it’s made me seriously consider looking for other clinics. I recommend either booking an appointment a year in advance or calling to see how many vet techs are actively there the day you wish to walk in. Or be the first to walk in at 8:30am, and I say 8:30 bc sometimes they don’t open at 8am on the dot. From what I’ve seen, lots of dogs come to the clinic, with the occasional cat in their carrier so keep that in mind if your cats are anxious. There is a consultation fee of $40 (plus an extra percent if you pay by card) you must pay up front before they take your pet to the back room, and any added fees like prescriptions and lab work are calculated after. Oh and if you have a voucher for spays/neuters they only accept the discount coupon not the free spay/neuter certificate. As for the services themselves: they’re fine. Reception is nice. Vaccines are done quickly. They call you once your pet has woken up post-spay/neuter. The vets are kind, bilingual, and clear with diagnostics.
May 11, 2025 · Jamie Naomi EstradaThis is a great place for ant pet care need. We have been coming here for many years and the staff is amazing. Prices are also very affordable. I live that you can now schedule appointments, makes things run smoother but they also still take walk ins.
Apr 12, 2025 · Blanca GarciaDO NOT RECOMMEND! I came here because my usual vet was unable to take in my dog. They gave me a list of places to try so I called and decided to come in due to being the most "affordable". My dog was peeing blood and had diarrhea. I waited for about 2 hours and didn't even get to see the vet for more than 5 minutes. The tech was the one going back and forth to communicate. They brought out a huge list of tests they wanted to run on my SENIOR dog amounting to almost $1k. My actual Vet has always preached about doing minimal tests on senior dogs unless absolutely necessary. The Vet barely even touched my dog before stating the worst case scenario. I opted for the stool/urine sample and a shot of antibiotics. They asked me to wait another 2 hrs so they could get the sample and still they got nothing for the stool one. They took forever to bring my dog out to me after that. I was told I'd receive a call to confirm if my dog had a UTI. I had to call 5 days after just to get a response. The vet simply told me "Yeah she has an infection." THATS IT! She didn't mention treatment until I asked. She had given me attitude since the moment I didn't agree to all the expensive testing. She said someone would call me to confirm the pricing for antibiotics and nobody ever did. My dog got much better after so I didn't even bother to call. Literally the worst vet ever. They claim to be affordable but they find ways to take your money!
Mar 20, 2025 · Diana RivasThe vet care is ok and the staff is nice. They are the local vet in my area, and no matter they changed ownership I decided to continue using them, usually with good results. However they are very disrespectful about the time of the clients. If you are coming here, be ready to waste hours of your day. *Making an appointment does not make a big difference vs if you come as a walk in, in my experience. *The staff will program appointments, but the vet will cancel the app after 1 hour you and you no happy dog have spent 1 hour in in the waiting room, because they made a mistake and the app was programmed by mistake early than doctor instruction. That happened to me and my dog last Friday. Nobody apologized. *they will program an appointment at 1:30pm, but that is the time for the vet to go to lunch, so you need to wait. Why they don’t program the appointment in coordination with the lunch time? *they will tell you to come at 8:00 am, however you will also learn that the vet will be there around 9:30am, and they will take care of you around 11am. I do think they can improve.
