Ark Animal Hospital

Don't go here. They're expensive and rude. I had taken my cats to them (Dr. Norris and others) for over 20 years but recently (Summer 2024)…when one of my cats had a problem, they charged me $264 and it did nothing for my cat. She's my baby. That was so upsetting. You see, Pebbles was losing her hair and they sold me expensive anti-flea medicine, Brevecto. That's it. I told them she didn't have any fleas (they didn't see any either) and she is an indoor cat. That vet, female, ignored me when I told her I felt it was allergies. Later I drove out there specifically to complain in-person to their manager, she did nothing...worse...she was rude. First, she reiterated what I already told her was done at our last visit. I explained to her that I was even hesitant to go to that vet after Dr. Norris retired. Then when I told her she was telling me what I already knew, she took an attitude with me...becoming very defensive and even said, "Maybe we're not the right hospital for your cat". Can you believe that? She was more concerned with being defensive than she was about my getting my cat immediate relief. Her condition had worsened. I finally asked for copies of my records of both cats and left. I went over to Cat Hospital of Metairie and they are taking very good care of my girl. They gave her a steroid shot immediately (and more) which is what Ark should have offered/done. Just don't go here. It's not the same as it was before.

Nola was ill and not herself. When I called trying to see a Dr, the were able to get her in very quickly. The entire staff was amazing as usual! And Dr Vennen was his normal awesome self! He really took his time to explain everything perfectly. You can really tell from top to bottom, that everyone there really does care about your four legged family member. I would never bring Nola anywhere else!!

Ark is such a great place. I was in a bad car accident with my dog, Marley, in the backseat and she spent some time at Ark while I was hospitalized. Katie (manager) sent me videos of Marley when I was in the hospital. It meant a lot to me and gave me the strength I needed to recover. Angelique is an inspiration to me. She always has a positive attitude and I appreciate her for it. Her tone on the phone is so kind. I have been going to Ark for 8 years and Angelique has never been anything but kind and caring. I appreciate that. Sam always gives my baby lots of love and is very kind and compassionate. Dr. Vennen is incredible and sits on the floor and plays with Marley for 20min or so. He is so knowledgeable and smart, a great vet, responsive to requests, and genuinely cares. He emphasized that age doesn't matter when it comes to my senior fur baby, and I like that. That's just to name a few, but there is so much more to love. Thank you, Ark ❤️

My animals have been going to Ark for as long as I can remember. Everyone there is welcoming and helpful from the moment you walk in. Dr. Carroll, Dr. Landry, and Dr. Vennen are all kind, compassionate, and you can tell they truly love what they do. They’ve all taken such great care of my zoo for regular check ups, injuries, illness, or whatever else comes up. There’s no other place I’d rather take my babies for care. ❤️

What a wonderful animal clinic. We stopped here with 2 stray dogs that wandered to my home and Ark checked them for chips and got in touch with their family and held them until they picked the 2 little puppies up. They were wonderful and so nice! I highly recommend them!
