Arizona Exotic Animal Hospital (Phoenix)

We have two ferrets and not many places see ferrets. I was given the office info by our vet since they were too full and I must say… so grateful to be connected with AZ Exotic Animal Hospital. Our little one had a cough and was sneezing, they got us in quick and were so attentive. The office and room was clean, answered all of my questions and calmed my anxiety. Prices were not bad for being specialty and having exotics. We paid over $1000 at VEG in Phoenix for them to give her only fluids, never again! VEG in Phx does NOT see ferrets and they will tell you this. Dr. Gilbert was an angel and everyone in the staff is so friendly and helped in so many ways. Thank you! I will definitely be coming back!

Truly excellent veterinarians office, (including Avian care which was our need). Arizona Exotic Animal Hospital came highly recommended by yet a different “5 star” vet’s office who did not offer Avian care. Excellent staff who are friendly, caring and thorough. We met with Dr. Jared Zion and were very happy with his mannerism with/toward our bird. His depth of knowledge, insight and willingness to spend a considerable amount of time with us in order to throughly examine, assess and explain his findings as well as his recommendations for our bird was a welcomed change from the previous “Avian Expert” in North Central Phoenix who was loud, gruff and overall incompetent in her mannerisms and assessment of our bird. She had listed his species, age and even body-color incorrectly on his paperwork. As well, Dr. Zion asked us questions and listened to our thoughts, feelings and insights re: what we felt may be contributing to our bird’s particular health issue.

This place ROCKS!!! I have had my Cockatoo Marilyn for well over 30 years and am very particular as to who treats her, they have to be the best. Not just normal Avian Vets but the DABVP Avian, Diplomate of the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners and this place has 2. Yes, these specialists can be more expensive than regular Avian vets but for me I dont mind paying for the best care. I originally met Dr. Pilny years back at ACCESS Specialty Hospital in Culver City, where he cared for her and I loved the attention to detail he provided my little girl. When I found out that he had left I was sad because I, as well as Marilyn really liked him. After moving to AZ a few years back I needed to find her another DABVP Avian vet for her. During my research I was very pleased to find that Dr. Pilny had relocated to this establishment. Recently my girl was not acting quite normal so I called down and was lucky to find that Dr. Pilny had an open appointment that day. I drove the 90 miles down for her appointment. Dr. Pilny met me with a handshake and hug and remembered Marilyn. He then did his exam, said she seemed fine but recommended blood work to be sure nothing else was going on, of course I said yes. The blood work came back within 36 hours and Dr. Pilny contacted me stating that all "Her Complete Blood Counts and Biochemistry Profile results came back completely normal and pretty perfect" Great Staff, The Best Doctors that really care, what more could a person ask for? If I could give them more than 5 stars I would. Thank you so very much again!!!

Super impressed with DR. Anthony Pilny! He exceeded my expectations of an exotic DR. Not many exotic vets have a lot of knowledge about Sugar Gliders and he provided the confidence every owner needs. He also came up with a game plan for my gliders abscess and future care. Thank you.

So grateful for this practice as we have 2 species of exotic pets. We have been in many times with both our chickens and guinea pigs and rely on their care. They always present options at multiple price points to help us make a decision that fits. And their vets always have good knowledge of the species they are treating.
