The Best veterinarians I've ever had the honor and pleasure of meeting and knowing. I've taken my previous fur baby there for more than seven years, since adopting her at three months old. Dr. Geisler, vet tech, Zach, and all the team have ALWAYS been courteous, kind, compassionate, understanding and highly professional EVERY time. I trust them and love them so much that even when I moved from Winston Salem, NC to Charlotte, NC, I'd still make the trip (plan a whole day of it) just to make sure my pup was getting the best care with the familiar faces we've come to know and appreciate.

Welcome to Ard-Vista Animal Hospital

For pet owners in Winston-Salem, NC, **Ard-Vista Animal Hospital** has long been a familiar name in veterinary care. Located at 527 S Stratford Rd, Winston-Salem, NC 27103, this "Pet Hospital" has served the local community for many years, offering a range of services aimed at the health and well-being of companion animals. You can reach them by phone at (336) 765-3070 or via mobile at +1 336-765-3070.

The environment at Ard-Vista Animal Hospital, like many established veterinary practices, is designed to be functional and supportive for veterinary procedures. While a physical visit would provide the most current impression, the general aim of such facilities is to create a clean, organized, and reassuring space for pets and their owners. Over the years, the hospital has likely adapted its facilities to incorporate advancements in veterinary medicine. However, client experiences, particularly more recent ones, suggest that while the physical space may remain professional, the overall atmosphere, particularly in terms of client interaction, has seen some shifts, as indicated by varying feedback.

Ard-Vista Animal Hospital, as a comprehensive "Pet Hospital," offers a variety of services typical of a full-service veterinary clinic. These services generally cover a broad spectrum of pet health needs, including:

  • Wellness and Preventive Care: This forms the cornerstone of proactive pet health, encompassing routine physical examinations, age-appropriate vaccinations (such as rabies, distemper, parvovirus for dogs; rabies, FVRCP for cats), and comprehensive parasite control and prevention. Regular check-ups are crucial for early detection of potential health issues.

  • Diagnostic Services: Equipped to aid in diagnosing various conditions, the hospital likely provides in-house laboratory services for blood tests, urinalysis, and fecal exams, along with imaging technologies like X-rays to assess internal health. Accurate diagnostics are vital for developing effective treatment plans.

  • Medical Treatment: The facility would offer treatment for a wide range of illnesses and injuries, managing both acute conditions and chronic diseases that require ongoing care.

  • Surgical Procedures: Standard surgical services, including routine spays and neuters, soft tissue surgeries, and other necessary procedures, would typically be performed with attention to patient safety and recovery.

  • Dental Care: Oral health is critical for overall pet well-being. Services would include professional dental cleanings, scaling, and extractions when required to address periodontal disease.

  • Pharmacy and Pet Products: For convenience, the hospital would likely maintain an on-site pharmacy for prescription medications, as well as offer prescription diets and various pet care products.

The features of Ard-Vista Animal Hospital that stand out most prominently, based on client feedback, are the long-standing relationships forged with certain veterinarians and staff, and the evolution of the client experience. For many years, the hospital has been recognized for its compassionate and professional team, particularly **Dr. Geisler and vet tech Zach**. One deeply loyal client, who had been bringing their pet there for over seven years, describes Dr. Geisler, Zach, and the entire team as "ALWAYS been courteous, kind, compassionate, understanding and highly professional EVERY time." This level of trust and appreciation was so profound that even after moving from Winston-Salem to Charlotte, this client continued to make a full-day trip to ensure their "pup was getting the best care with the familiar faces we've come to know and appreciate." This speaks volumes about the quality of care and the strong bonds built during a long relationship with the hospital.

However, more recent feedback indicates that the client experience at Ard-Vista Animal Hospital has seen some changes. A reviewer reflecting on years of on-and-off patronage noted a decline in customer service and an increase in prices since 2007. Specifically, they mention that "Jessica has gotten more and more rude over these years" and that "Mrs Dr. Geisler is almost never available anymore." This suggests a potential issue with staff consistency or workload management, impacting client accessibility to preferred veterinarians and the overall welcoming atmosphere. The reviewer also felt they received "the we don’t like dog breeders treatment" even for their non-bred shelter cats, leading them to seek care elsewhere. This contrasting feedback highlights that while the hospital has a history of excellent, compassionate care, more recent operational changes or individual staff interactions have created a less positive experience for some clients.

Regarding promotional information, Ard-Vista Animal Hospital's strongest historical promotion has been its reputation for compassionate care and trusted veterinarians, as evidenced by long-term client loyalty. While specific ongoing promotional campaigns are not universally detailed, veterinary hospitals typically encourage regular wellness exams through reminders and emphasize the long-term health benefits of preventive care. They would likely accept various payment options, including major credit cards, and possibly work with pet insurance providers and third-party financing solutions like CareCredit, which can help manage costs for larger medical expenses. However, the recent feedback regarding increased prices and declining customer service could influence how new or potential clients perceive the hospital's value proposition. Direct inquiry with the hospital about current services, pricing, and any available wellness plans or new client offers would be essential for anyone considering their services today.

In conclusion, Ard-Vista Animal Hospital in Winston-Salem, NC, has a notable history as a "Pet Hospital" that has provided excellent, compassionate care for many years, fostering deep loyalty among its clients, particularly through the efforts of veterinarians like Dr. Geisler and dedicated staff like Zach. This long-standing positive reputation for quality medical care and personal touch remains a significant aspect of its identity. However, more recent client experiences suggest challenges in maintaining consistent customer service standards and veterinarian availability, alongside concerns about pricing. For potential clients, Ard-Vista Animal Hospital offers a range of core veterinary services, but it would be advisable to consider the recent mixed feedback and to contact the hospital directly to assess current availability, service protocols, and pricing before making a decision.

If I was writing this back in 2007 it would’ve been five stars I’ve been going to them on and off for years but not only are their prices now ridiculous the customer you receive has declined. Jessica has gotten more and more rude over these years plus Mrs Dr. Geisler Is almost never available anymore I used to be a breeder, but I’m no longer a breeder, but I still get the we don’t like dog breeders treatment Even with my shelter 2 cats that I now have So now I’m going to Dr. Pete, who has been nothing but a blessing him an His daughter never judged me Whether I bred dogs or no longer breed dogs And everyone in the office has always been super kind/pleasant kinda like 2008 Jessica was And I don’t have to hear Jessica’s rudeness anymore Amen to that!

I believe that the actual vets that work here are decent at their jobs and kind. But the people up front are so condescending and snide that it makes you wonder if anyone there truly cares about you or your pet. I know jobs aren’t always fun, but it’s not hard to treat customers with care and respect and that is something that a majority of the people here just do not have. After 5 years of taking my dogs here, I’ve finally had enough of the attitude and am going to have to find a new vet. Bye ard vista, your better than thou attitude will not be missed.

I’ve been bringing my pets to Ard Vista for more than 20 years. The vets are wonderful people but I have to agree that some of the front desk staff seem as if we, as customers, are bothering them or causing an inconvenience when we ask questions or ask for a call back from the vet. We called today about having our dog sedated to get his nails trimmed and Martina was pretty snide and seemed bothered by our questions.
