One reviewer unequivocally states that Dr. Smith and the staff are "NOP NOTCH," emphasizing the exceptional quality of their service. The reviewer further describes Dr. Smith as "SUPER knowledgeable and kind," highlighting both the veterinarian's expertise and their compassionate approach to animal care.
Another incredibly positive review recounts a critical situation involving a pet rat with a rapidly growing tumor that required urgent removal. This client's experience underscores several key strengths of Arapahoe Animal Hospital - Downtown. Firstly, their responsiveness and understanding of the urgency of the situation were remarkable. Unlike numerous other veterinary clinics, including a veterinary teaching hospital, which offered delayed evaluation and surgery schedules, Arapahoe Animal Hospital - Downtown recognized the time-sensitive nature of the pet's condition. They promptly scheduled an appointment with their exotics veterinarian within just three days of the initial call (made on a Saturday, with the appointment on Tuesday). This swift action demonstrates a genuine concern for the animal's well-being and a commitment to timely intervention.
During the expedited appointment, the exotics veterinarian at Arapahoe Animal Hospital - Downtown conducted a thorough evaluation of the tumor, performed X-rays to check for metastasis to vital organs, and then proceeded with the necessary surgery all on the same day. The fact that the rat not only survived but thrived post-surgery is a testament to the skill, expertise, and well-equipped facilities of the hospital. The reviewer explicitly credits the veterinarian, the staff, their skills, and their equipment for the positive outcome, expressing doubt that other clinics would have been able to achieve the same result.
Furthermore, this client was highly impressed by the reasonable pricing at Arapahoe Animal Hospital - Downtown. They also appreciated the fact that the staff never pressured them about financial matters, a stark contrast to previous experiences at other veterinary clinics where monetary concerns seemed to take precedence over the animal's immediate needs. This speaks to the ethical and patient-centered approach of Arapahoe Animal Hospital - Downtown, where the focus is on providing the best possible care without undue financial stress on the pet owner.
The reviewer concludes by emphatically recommending Arapahoe Animal Hospital - Downtown, stating that they have "never been so pleased with a vet clinic." Nov 14, 2024 · Scott WalkerIf I could give ten stars, I would. I am so grateful for Arapahoe. I told them about a tumor my rat had that was growing at a very fast rate, to the point it needed to be removed rather quickly. Other vet clinics (and I called a lot... at least 8 including CSU) scheduled a day to give me a quote for the removal (which was like a week or two later) and then surgery a few weeks later after the evaluation, which my pet really didn’t have time to wait... They were the only ones to understand this concern and then gave me an appointment rather quick when their exotics vet would be in next (I had to wait only 3 days since I called on Saturday and they schedule me for Tuesday) to view the tumor, evaluate it, x-Ray to make sure it had not spread to any vital organs, and then did surgery that day. My rat made it and honestly I think it’s because of the vet and his staff, their skills, and their equipment. I’m not sure if any other clinic would have been able to do this and have her survive and be okay. Their price was very reasonable and they never harassed me about money- which the few vets I have been to made it seemed like money was their main priority before they could give any type of helpful service. I highly recommend them. I honestly have never been so pleased with a vet clinic. Their staff is also incredibly nice and compassionate. :)
Jul 04, 2019 · Melissa PerryMy first experiences with the Western branch on 55th were GREAT. They were very kind to us in an injury situation with our kitty, and we were so fortunate they could see us on a Saturday, when such emergencies always seem to happen. I always recommend them based on that experience. However, I just took kitty in for a simple checkup and booster shots to their DOWNTOWN branch. Whoa. The experience could not be more different. The doctor would not let me finish a sentence. He interrupted me five words into an explanation of the problem with a snap judgements, and when I said no, it was like this.... he would interrupt again. I did not feel like he heard my situation since he never heard a full sentence. I felt like I was bothering him, and went away feeling dismissed. He gave the cat her shots, we were out in less than ten minutes. He didn't do any other checkup metrics at all. Two shots and ten minutes of being cut off while speaking, no questions answered = $130. Feeling bit raw. I will not be going downtown again. I'm hoping this issue is limited to the downtown branch and that practitioner/owner, because otherwise and up to this point they have been pretty awesome, hence the average rating of 3
Sep 07, 2021 · Art2Eat Cakes Heather Sherman (Art2Eat Cakes)My dog has been going to Arapahoe Animal Hospital ever since we moved to Boulder two years ago. Dr. Meyers and their staff are very understanding of my dog’s fear/aggression issues and will do anything to help make her more comfortable there. I let them know that she feels threatened and anxious when people come into a room to see her. Instead now, the vet enters the room and then the staff calls us back to walk in last. It’s the small things that matter when it comes to your local vet.
May 26, 2021 · Julian BahrDr. Meyers is by far the best small animal vet around. Not only is he wonderful with the animals, but he is great with the people who bring in their pets. He never talks down to you and treats you with respect and tremendous compassion. Dr. Meyers explains everything and answers any and all questions. He is the best!
