My 13 year old Bichon mix was diagnosed with a large mass that would have ended her life. Dr.Adam was very patient and kind with Lola and explained our options thoroughly and calmly which put us all at ease. Lola is now home recovering with our toddler. I highly recommend this doctor and the staff was so kind and supportive throughout this process. This location is cost effective compared to the other locations I’ve called and they have been able to provide the best care. Horrible! We’re so angry at their lack of compassion when our family needed them most! We have been consistently bringing our dogs to Westfield Vet in Ansonia/Seymour for around 25 years. Without warning, our dog Chance could not stand up. It seemed his legs were paralyzed although the rest of him looked OK. I called immediately that Monday morning 3/31/2025 09:00 at the time they opened. I described symptoms & I asked to bring him in asap, we were very scared for him. They told me the best they could do was mid day Thursday. 4 DAYS LATER!? I pleaded with them. The receptionist said she checked with others there but the answer was still “No, Thursday”. They told me to take him to another vet with emergency services if we needed to be seen that soon. After 14 years, our family dog passed away that very day at another Vet we had never visited before. Couldn’t be more disgusted. After 25 years of our loyalty, this is what we got.

Your clinic has always been a place where we felt safe, supported, and truly cared for like an extended part of our paw family. That’s why it’s difficult to write this message, but I feel it’s important to share honestly from the heart. Our most recent visit was the first without one of our beloved pups, who has recently passed and is now watching over us from the heavens. The absence of her presence made the entire experience feel so different, hollow even. Walking into the clinic without her, knowing she will never walk through those doors again, was profoundly painful. On top of that, the visit itself felt rushed and emotionally distant. Dr. P seemed pressed for time, and the brief words of comfort though perhaps meant kindly, felt more procedural than personal. In a moment when we were carrying so much quiet heartache, that lack of emotional connection made the emptiness feel even heavier. Even my pups seemed affected. Their nail trims didn’t happen, likely due to the hurried nature of the appointment, and the whole experience left us feeling unseen in our grief. We know the clinic is busy and we understand that not every moment allows for extended time, and the staff does an amazing job but during a loss like this, even small gestures of presence and empathy can mean the world. We’ve always seen your team as part of our journey, and we hope this helps you understand how meaningful your care truly is, especially in life’s hardest moments.

Everyone there is extremely kind and professional. this was our second opinion on our dog who has IVDD, the first vet told us surgery was the only option. Dr. Adam provided us with alternative which has helped my dog gain back her ability to walk. Again everyone at this establishment was incredibly welcoming and comforting.
