Aug 12, 2024 · Monika SurowiecI cant even believe I am having to write this - but given we may lose our dog due to Dr. Emily Navrotski's incompetence. I have to share this We have been taking our dogs to Streamwood for a handful of years. They have always been kind and well knowledgeable. Until lately. About 2 months ago my mom brought our beautiful Lily to them for what we noticed was a mass growing on her front paw. It was not bothering her but we were concerned. My mom scheduled an appointment and took Lily in. When she got there the vet took 2 seconds to look at it (NO EXAM - nothing typical of checking as she should have) and immediately deemed it cancer. She then told my mom to do this extensive $600 blood panel and if it was cancer it would come back on that panel. (which isnt possible , maybe elevated WBC or something but it isnt going to deem it cancer) So my mom does the blood work, everything comes back great (which we already knew as lily just had bloodwork less than 9 months ago WITH THEM). Dr. Navrotski then demands we do a biopsy on the tumor. I have had horses for 21 years and also have had dogs that amount of time as well. I told my mom to instruct them no - and to take it out first and do the biopsy after so Lily didnt undergo surgery twice (She is a 7 year old Great Dane and we didnt want her undergoing surgery that many times) Dr. Navrotski told us no. Which is absolutely insanity to me as we are the owners not her. So we spent $1500 for this biospy (that wasnt even bothering her to begin with). We then come to find out she cant even help her from this point on and gives us a list of 3 vets to call as she doesnt do those types of surgery's in that office. Can someone explain to me why you would break open a mass and not be able to take it on all the way to the end? cause thats exactly our question. So we take lily for her biopsy - and when we go to pick her up - she wasnt even remotely ready to be picked up yet. She was covered in weird dried blood or fluids. She looked terrified. We asked to speak to the vet and they told us she was busy. They handed us a sheet of paper and said follow these instructions and call if you have any questions. How crazy that your dog just gets operated on and the vet doesnt even come out to speak to you after???? That to me is so unprofessional. So we take her home and she immediately bleeds through her wrap. They told us to keep her wrapped for 5 days - We couldnt even get her to sit down, she was in so much pain and so much distress we tried calling the vet 3 times that day and each time they said the vet was busy. How do you operate on a dog and not call the owners back at all?? So a vet tech calls us back and it must have been her first day - she had the wrong file, wrong information. We asked her about so many things and she had no answers. crazy. Its been 3 weeks ....Now the mass is 3 times the size and has spread to 2 of her toes. We have called every specialist and each vet now says they wont touch it or cant do the surgery. The biopsy essentially got this mass so angry it has tripled in size and now has ulcered. Oh and to top it off we still cant get a call back from these vets. All because of Dr. Navrotski's incompetence. She wanted the money from the services and then ditched us and sent us on our way once she knew she couldnt do the rest. We now are being told that if we cant find a vet to do this surgery soon, its amputation or potentially euthanasia. OH and to top it off the specialist we got into, we showed them how it was wrapped and the meds they were giving... and she one not only caused this mass to turn into an infection and fungal issue from her incompetence but also wasnt even giving the right dosage of meds for her weights size and breed. Literally how are you servicing dogs when you cant even do these things correctly??? She cant walk, cant eat, sleep, nothing all because of the incompetence of this vet and this clinic. Do yourselves a favor and take your dogs somewhere else, we wish we would have and now were at the risk of losing our dog due to them.
Nov 07, 2024 · Nikalia DiNunnoI wish I had changed to this practice a long time ago. Front desk staff, vet techs and vets are welcoming, attentive, willing to listen and take time to answer questions. I felt like they cared about my dog and her issues and that they were looking at all the options to help her. Thorough explanations of treatments. They are very responsive to emails and phone calls. It is very easy to get an appointment.
May 11, 2024 · Michelle HillThey always are so helpful whether I visit, call, or text regarding any questions. They are always super friendly to both Sharpie and Rocket, and even when only one has an appointment, they always ask about my other doggo. Super sweet!
