We have two Dogs that recently found a Porcupine and was gone for most of the day.. one of our dogs returned home with quills in her face my wife called ahead. They took care of one dog, 20 minutes after a neighbor found our second dog which we called before arrival our second dog was w worse off , they said bring her in.. on arrival a lady Veterinarian came out of the back room with her hands in her pockets with a look on her face like she didn’t want to be bothered with our lovely dog with a million quills in her face, the lady veterinarian said we don’t have Time for your dog (you should bring to BEVs).. we did not have a good experience! We truly felt like this Lady Veterinarian should probably change her career… as we left in discussed. The veterinarian ran after us wanting to know if we were taking our other dog with us.. our dog was still under anesthesia, we said we will be back after we drop our dog that was in pain… veterinarian lady said I hope it’s before seven. We close by then.?! There are a few veterinarians over there that are good. This lady was not very disappointed.. We will never tell anyone to go there for anything. The front lady were very nice and they were also in disbelief of how are the veterinarian handled this?…

The environment at Animal Hospital of Hinesburg is generally described by a significant portion of its clientele as welcoming, kind, and professional. Testimonials frequently highlight a pervasive atmosphere of genuine love for animals from the moment clients walk in. The staff, including front desk personnel, veterinary technicians, and veterinarians, are often praised for their warmth, patience, and dedication to creating a comfortable experience for both pets and their owners. A professional and organized setting is maintained, ensuring a hygienic and safe space for all veterinary procedures. The overall impression is one where care and empathy are prioritized, contributing to a supportive environment for pets and their families, even during stressful situations. However, it is important to note that, as with any service provider, individual experiences can vary.
As a full-service "Pet Hospital," The Animal Hospital of Hinesburg offers an extensive range of medical, diagnostic, and surgical services designed to meet the diverse health needs of pets across all life stages. Their comprehensive offerings typically include:
Wellness and Preventative Care: This forms the core of their practice, focusing on proactive health management to ensure long-term well-being. Services include thorough annual physical examinations, which are crucial for establishing a baseline of health and detecting potential issues early. They implement tailored vaccination protocols to protect against common and regional diseases and offer comprehensive parasite prevention and control programs for fleas, ticks, and heartworm. Nutritional counseling and guidance on weight management are also provided, vital for maintaining optimal pet health and longevity.
Diagnostic Services: To accurately diagnose illnesses and injuries, The Animal Hospital of Hinesburg utilizes various diagnostic tools. This includes in-house laboratory services for quick and efficient processing of blood tests (such as complete blood counts and chemistry panels), urinalysis, and fecal exams, providing vital information about a pet's internal health. They also employ radiography (X-rays) for detailed imaging of skeletal structures and internal organs, essential for diagnosing injuries, diseases, and identifying foreign bodies. The availability of these diagnostics on-site streamlines the diagnostic process, allowing for quicker treatment initiation.
Surgical Procedures: The hospital is equipped to perform a wide variety of surgical interventions. This encompasses routine procedures such as spaying and neutering, essential for population control and preventing certain health conditions. They also handle various soft tissue surgeries, including mass removals, laceration repairs, and a range of abdominal procedures. The surgical team prioritizes patient safety through careful pre-operative assessment, modern anesthesia monitoring, and dedicated post-operative care, ensuring the best possible outcomes.
Dental Care: Recognizing the critical importance of oral health, The Animal Hospital of Hinesburg provides comprehensive dental services. This typically involves professional dental cleanings (scaling and polishing) under anesthesia, and addressing more complex issues like tooth extractions when necessary. Proper dental care is fundamental for preventing pain, infection, and associated systemic health problems that can arise from poor oral hygiene.
Pain Management: The hospital is committed to effective pain management for pets recovering from surgery, suffering from chronic conditions, or those requiring palliative care. They offer various strategies to ensure pets remain comfortable and maintain a good quality of life.
Emergency Treatment Cases: The hospital aims to provide support for urgent situations during business hours. While one review indicates a potential challenge in handling a severe emergency for a new arrival, the general practice for many veterinary hospitals is to manage acute cases within their capacity and, if necessary, refer to specialized emergency veterinary facilities for conditions requiring immediate, intensive care beyond their scope. Clients are encouraged to call ahead for emergencies to ensure the best possible guidance and preparation.
