Animal Hospital at Vista Lakes

I made an appointment with this clinic for an emergency visit to get my cat and dog updated on their vaccines before Hurricane Milton. I wanted to be prepared in case I needed to evacuate and take my pets to a shelter, especially since my regular vet was fully booked and my original appointment with them was scheduled for after the storm. This clinic is very convenient, located just five minutes from my home, and their same-day availability was a huge help. The staff was very nice and truly listened to my needs. They did try to upsell me on bloodwork for my dog, which I declined because I had already scheduled that with my regular vet. I only needed one vaccine for her. There was also an attempt to administer duplicate vaccines for my cat, which I felt was unnecessary since she was already up to date, so I declined those as well. Aside from this, their pricing for services was relatively affordable. The reason for my 3-star rating instead of a 4 or a 5 is because of the way they handled my cat. One of the technicians restrained her by the scruff to perform the exam and administer vaccines, even after I explained that she’s a well-behaved cat. This caused my cat unnecessary stress, and she growled and hissed at both the doctor and technician, something I have never seen my cat do before at the vet. As a certified professional pet groomer myself, I understand the need for caution, especially with new animals, but this handling method felt outdated and unnecessary. I did speak up, advocating for my cat, and after they adjusted their approach, they were able to administer her vaccines calmly and without further stress. I think the clinic would benefit from becoming Fear Free Certified to better ensure the well-being of the animals in their care and to adopt more effective, up-to-date handling methods that prioritize the animals' comfort and safety without resorting to aggressive restraint. Overall, I appreciated the clinic's friendliness, convenience, and the ability to accommodate me on such short notice. However, I do feel they would benefit from updating their handling techniques to ensure a less stressful experience for the animals in their care. We will not be returning as we are already established with a different vet clinic.

Everyone was so nice and friendly! They accommodated me with an earlier appointment due to my kitten needing some more urgent attention. The center is so clean and feels comfortable. They offered a complimentary visit due to adopting my kitten from the shelter which I think is amazing you never know from a shelter setting. Dr T was amazing and her tech Gretchen both were super friendly and listening and felt our needs with our visit not just trying upsell everything I don’t need. They gave us price points for lower end cost and higher end cost. I do wish Dr T worked there full time but they said she fills in. I definitely recommend this office! It was pretty reasonable priced and they treated my kitten like a little VIP.

I've been a long time client to Animal Hospital at Vista Lakes and something has changed recently with great outcomes. I have noticed a lot less waiting in the waiting room before getting in (better for all) and ease and quickness with checkout. Appreciate that. As always Dr. Inniss is the best and she always takes the time to explain things and ensure we have what we need. Keep up the great service!

Very happy with our first visit with our 5 month puppy. Customer service is a 10. Personal attention to our concerns and to Terry 100%. We're picking this office as our main place to take our puppy from now on.

I have been with Animal Hospital at Vista Lakes for 3 years now and I've seen their service keep getting better everytime I go there. Dr. Inez is wonderful and so are the staff. Gretchen for one was very accommodating from the moment she weighed my fur babies up until us checking out. The waiting area is always clean. Check in and out process is smooth. To reschedule and make an appointment over the phone is a breeze, you get only good vibes. They make you you feel like family. I sure hope this good energy does not change. Keep up the good work guys!! 💯
