The best! Our 6 1/2-year-old German Shepherd, Storm, has been to Animal Emergency Center of Sandy Springs several times, and each visit leaves me in awe of their incredible service, compassion, and genuine love for all the pets. They always provide me with the reassurance I need, ensuring that when we leave, I feel confident in caring for her at home. Unfortunately, we’re heading there again soon because of another terrible ear infection. But if your pet requires emergency care, please don’t hesitate to bring them to this wonderful center. You can leave with peace of mind, knowing your pet received exceptional care!

Jan 16, 2025 · Maria EdwardsWe are so thankful for AEC Sandy Springs. If you are having to read reviews for this place, I am sorry for what you and your pet are going through. You are lucky you’ve stumbled upon AEC though, this place will take the best care of your baby. They saved my pup not once but twice. My dog had a corn cob stuck in his GI tract, our local vet performed the removal but we were warned about the risk of infection and possible risk of further complications. About a week after the initial surgery, we found ourselves here as he did get infected. Dr. Slider is absolutely incredible she performed a brutal surgery on him having to remove about 6in of his intestine. The surgery took hours, but they were in touch with us every step of the way. They texted us when they were going into surgery and we got a call when they were done. When we picked up our dog, he was in a surgery suit (which our local vet was very impressed with!) and given detailed instructions for his post care. We called numerous times after with questions about things that popped up during his recovery, they answered every call and were so patient and kind to us, always giving us as much detail as possible to put us at ease. After this visit we had a few more scares with our dog continuing to eat things he shouldn’t, we ended up here another 3 times, each time seeing a new vet and new faces who treated us with the highest level of care and compassion. We had our (hopefully) final visit to AEC this past weekend, because my dog swallowed yet another item. We saw 3 vets during this visit - Veronica, Dr. Slider & Dr. Landon who performed the surgery. They worked together to determine the best solutions each step of the way. Not to mention, this place saved us literally thousands of dollars compared to other options. You can feel confident that your pet will receive the best care here. I am so thankful for all the vets here who helped us through the last 3 months of these nightmares with our dog. Thank you guys for saving him.
Jan 07, 2025 · Sonja and RohanI cannot thank Dexter and Dr. Kissinger enough for the exceptional care they provided to my dog, Lola, during a very stressful time. Lola had a severe allergic reaction and was in significant pain, which made her extremely aggressive—a behavior that is very uncharacteristic of her. Despite this, Dexter and Dr. Kissinger were nothing but patient, kind, and understanding throughout the entire process. They went above and beyond to ensure that Lola was treated with the utmost compassion, even when her aggression made the situation challenging. They took the time to explain everything thoroughly, giving me a variety of tips and different things to watch for in the future to prevent and manage similar situations. Their professionalism and empathy truly stood out, and I felt reassured knowing that Lola was in such capable hands. It’s clear they both genuinely care about their patients and their families. I’m incredibly grateful for their guidance and the care they provided to help Lola recover. I highly recommend them to any pet parent looking for a team that truly goes the extra mile for their furry family members.
Dec 21, 2024 · Keia CAbsolutely horrified by my experience here. I called ahead of time to see how busy they were and was informed by the receptionist that they were not busy at the moment but that it was subject to change; I of course understand because that is the nature of emergencies! I asked if we would at least be able to get a room because my dog’s injuries have her even more anxious than usual and she is reactive with other dogs. The lady assured me that while she can’t promise the wait won’t be long, she can get us into a room. I arrived 5 minutes later (I live right across the street) and was checked in after a few minutes. Once checked in, we were told to sit in the open waiting room. We continued to sit there for almost an hour, with no one coming to check on my dog. People came in and out but didn’t say anything to us, it was as though we weren’t even in there. My dog was in so much pain that she was frantically itching herself to the point where she was bleeding significantly. My final straw was when a dog was brought into the waiting room and my dog immediately got reactive. The receptionist just sat in her chair and didn’t try to resolve the situation whatsoever. I left in tears and wasn’t offered any sort of compassion. I ended up going to VEG in Marietta and was immediately met at the door and taken to the back. A doctor immediately came to check on my dog and formulated a care plan within minutes (even though they were quite busy as well). I wish I had gone to VEG to begin with. If you want your animal to be treated with compassion, do not take them here. I have fostered many dogs so I am no stranger to emergency vets but I can confidently say any dog in my care and I have never been treated so poorly.
Mar 08, 2025 · Isabel HaynesThank you Dr. Aida and Dr. Kissinger for taking care of our sweet Opi. Our purrfect kitty had a sudden, dramatic decline with his kidneys. The vets stabilized him and were very gentle and kind with letting us know his prognosis. They were very empathic but also honest with his possible outcomes. We are so thankful to have had 24-hour care for him during such a stressful time. He got lots of pets and love. We are so thankful we were allowed to visit him each day- it made such a difference knowing we got to see him each day. We got Mr. Opi to a place of comfort and were able to take him home with us for however long we get
