Welcome to Anderson Equine Veterinary Services

Welcome to Anderson Equine Veterinary Services, located at 838 Trumbull Hwy, Lebanon, CT 06249, USA. Operating as a specialized Pet Hospital focusing on equine care, Anderson Equine Veterinary Services, led by Dr. Anderson, provides veterinary services tailored to the unique needs of horses in the Lebanon, CT area and beyond. While the provided reviews offer insights into Dr. Anderson's approach and the nature of a sole practitioner equine veterinary service, detailed information regarding the clinic's environment and a comprehensive list of services are not explicitly available.

Due to the specialized nature of equine veterinary services often conducted on-site at the horse's location, the concept of a traditional "clinic environment" might differ from a small animal hospital. The reviews do not offer specific details about a physical clinic space. However, the positive feedback regarding Dr. Anderson's professionalism and the trust placed in his expertise suggest a well-managed and equipped mobile practice capable of delivering necessary care at the stable or farm.

The services offered by Anderson Equine Veterinary Services are primarily focused on the health and well-being of horses. Based on the available customer reviews, these services include:

  • General Equine Health Care: Implied by the mention of routine appointments and Dr. Anderson's role as a long-term vet for a customer.
  • Emergency Equine Veterinary Services: Dr. Anderson is noted for being responsive to emergencies, indicating the availability of urgent care for equine patients. However, one review also highlights the limitations of a sole practitioner in handling multiple simultaneous emergencies.
  • Lameness Evaluations and Treatment: While not explicitly stated, general equine practice often includes diagnosing and treating lameness issues in horses.
  • Preventative Care for Horses: This typically includes vaccinations, deworming programs, and dental care tailored for equines.
  • Client Education for Horse Owners: A significant feature highlighted is Dr. Anderson's commitment to educating his clients, empowering them to become better horse owners without condescension.

The customer reviews provide several key insights into the features of Anderson Equine Veterinary Services and Dr. Anderson's approach:

  • Experienced and Knowledgeable Veterinarian (Dr. Anderson): He is described as an "amazing vet" who is kind and a pleasure to see for appointments.
  • Responsiveness to Emergencies: Dr. Anderson is noted for his willingness to respond to emergency calls, a crucial aspect of equine veterinary care. However, it's important to remember the inherent limitations of a sole practitioner in managing multiple emergencies simultaneously.
  • Educational Approach: Dr. Anderson takes the time to educate his clients, enhancing their understanding of equine health and care without making them feel inferior. This proactive approach fosters better horse ownership.
  • Sole Practitioner Model: Anderson Equine Veterinary Services operates as a sole practitioner practice. While this can offer personalized care and a consistent point of contact, it also means that Dr. Anderson is the sole provider and may face limitations in availability, especially during peak times or multiple emergencies.
  • Subjectivity of Emergency Definition: One review astutely points out that what a horse owner perceives as an emergency may not always be a clinical emergency. This highlights the importance of clear communication and understanding between the vet and the owner.

There is no promotional information explicitly mentioned in the provided customer reviews. Therefore, an objective introduction cannot include details about special offers, discounts for new clients, or specific service packages based solely on this information.

The positive testimonials emphasize his expertise and his commitment to helping horse owners provide the best possible care for their animals. When choosing an equine veterinarian, the insights from these reviews offer a balanced perspective. Dr. Anderson's dedication to his patients and their owners is evident. However, the nature of a sole practitioner practice should also be considered in the context of individual needs and the potential for emergency situations. I felt compelled to counter Ms. Connelly's review of Dr. Anderson, especially given she was arrested recently for animal cruelty and more than 50 animals including a horse were pulled from her property. When choosing an equine vet, remember sole practitioner's are just that "sole". Yes, they will respond to emergency's, but cannot clone themselves. Also, as we love our equines, what one may view as an emergency, clinically may not be an emergency. I've been with Dr. Anderson for a number of years and am happy with him and that's just my two cents opinion folks, take it or leave it. Reviews, remember are subjective and we don't always have viewpoints from both sides of the coin.

Dr Anderson has been my horses vet for many years and has always made himself available when needed. He has gone above and beyond even as a sole practitioner. His diagnostics have been spot on. His office is always available for me to run there and pick up what I need. He is a kind and caring doctor.

After using Dr. Anderson for twenty five years he decided he is too busy to be my horses vet. He last saw them in November for vaccine and exam but now that they are sick and need an emergency vet he decided he is too busy! You may want to reconsider using him since you never know if you'll be the next person bumped out of his practice. He left me horses with NO vet while sick on a weekend. Unreliable and unprofessional.

Dr. Anderson is the best most knowledgeable and kind equine vet I have ever known. I have known him since the 1990 s. I highly recommend Dr. Dave for any equine issues.
