Meet Mama, a sassy feline, who strongly dislikes going to the vet (even though her mother works as a veterinary technician). Mama has numerous health issues that has her primary veterinarians scratching their heads in confusion. Dr. Dallas took the challenge and Mama was treated with such kindness, empathy, and understanding from Dr. Dallas and Melissa. Mama and I strongly recommend visiting Dr. Dallas and Melissa if you are looking to implement a compassionate holistic aspect to your pet’s treatment.

Welcome to Ancient Arts Veterinary Acupuncture
Welcome to Ancient Arts Veterinary Acupuncture, a distinctive Pet Hospital located at 121 Lake Ave Rear, Saratoga Springs, NY 12866, USA. We offer a compassionate and holistic approach to veterinary care, specializing in acupuncture and other complementary therapies for your beloved pets. You can reach us at (518) 727-2940 or via our mobile number +1 518-727-2940.
Ancient Arts Veterinary Acupuncture provides a unique environment focused on integrating traditional veterinary medicine with holistic modalities. While specific details about the clinic's interior and facilities are not extensively described online, you can likely expect a calm and comfortable setting designed to promote relaxation and well-being for your pets during their treatments. As a Pet Hospital specializing in acupuncture, the environment may include designated areas for consultations and the administration of acupuncture sessions, ensuring a tranquil experience for animal patients.
The primary service offered at Ancient Arts Veterinary Acupuncture is veterinary acupuncture, a holistic treatment modality that involves the insertion of thin needles into specific points on the animal's body to stimulate the body's natural healing abilities. Acupuncture can be used to address a wide range of conditions, including pain management, musculoskeletal issues, neurological disorders, gastrointestinal problems, and even behavioral issues. It is often used as a complementary therapy alongside conventional veterinary medicine to provide a more comprehensive approach to pet care.
According to one positive customer review, Dr. Dallas at Ancient Arts Veterinary Acupuncture is commended for her kindness, empathy, and understanding in treating a "sassy feline" named Mama with numerous complex health issues that had puzzled other veterinarians. The reviewer, whose mother works as a veterinary technician, strongly recommends Dr. Dallas and Melissa for pet owners seeking to implement a compassionate holistic aspect to their pet’s treatment. This suggests that a key feature of this Pet Hospital is the personalized and empathetic care provided by Dr. Dallas and her team.
Melissa is also specifically mentioned in the positive review, indicating that she plays a significant role in providing care and support to the animal patients and their owners. The collaboration between Dr. Dallas and Melissa appears to create a positive and reassuring experience for pets undergoing acupuncture treatments.
The focus on a "compassionate holistic aspect" in the positive review suggests that Ancient Arts Veterinary Acupuncture emphasizes a whole-body approach to pet health, considering not just the physical symptoms but also the emotional and environmental factors that may be contributing to the animal's condition. This holistic philosophy may appeal to pet owners seeking alternative or complementary therapies that go beyond conventional treatments.
However, it is important to present a balanced perspective based on all available information. One customer review expresses significant concerns regarding the professionalism of a staff member named Tamara. This reviewer, a CTICU (cardiothoracic intensive care unit) Nurse who claims experience with quality healthcare, describes a "complete lack of professionalism," citing poor bedside manner, condescending comments about the owner's "anxiety" regarding their dog's post-operative care after a CCL repair, and poor social skills. The reviewer also alleges a lack of understanding of consent, stating that Tamara continued to make adjustments to their dog after being asked to stop.
This negative review is a critical piece of information that potential clients should consider. While the reviewer did not allege malpractice, the concerns raised about professionalism and communication are significant. The experience described by this traveling nurse, who claims experience with numerous acupuncturists, led them to strongly recommend other practices over Ancient Arts Veterinary Acupuncture.
Given the contrasting reviews, it is evident that while some clients have had positive experiences with Dr. Dallas and Melissa, particularly appreciating their compassionate and holistic approach, others have raised serious concerns about the professionalism of at least one other staff member. This highlights the importance for potential clients to consider both perspectives when evaluating Ancient Arts Veterinary Acupuncture.
As Ancient Arts Veterinary Acupuncture specializes in a specific modality (acupuncture), their services may be particularly appealing to pet owners seeking alternative or complementary treatments for their animals. Acupuncture can be beneficial for a variety of conditions, and the positive review suggests that Dr. Dallas has expertise in this area. However, the negative review raises questions about the overall client experience beyond the acupuncture treatment itself.
There is no promotional information available in the provided reviews. Therefore, local users interested in Ancient Arts Veterinary Acupuncture should consider contacting the clinic directly at (518) 727-2940 to inquire about their specific services, the qualifications and experience of all their staff members, their approach to client communication and consent, and to address any concerns they may have based on the available reviews. Visiting the clinic for a consultation might also provide a better sense of the environment and the overall professionalism of the team.
In conclusion, Ancient Arts Veterinary Acupuncture in Saratoga Springs, NY, offers a holistic approach to pet care with a specialization in acupuncture. While one review praises the compassionate care provided by Dr. Dallas and Melissa, another review raises significant concerns about the lack of professionalism of another staff member. Potential clients should carefully consider both perspectives and contact the clinic directly to make an informed decision about their pet's care.

Oct 19, 2023 · Rebecca BarnesAs a CTICU (cardiothoracic intensive care unit) Nurse I can say I know quality healthcare, this is not it. I did not see any malpractice, but the complete lack of professionalism is concerning. Tamara has really poor bedside manor, made multiple condescending comments about my “anxiety” for my dog who just underwent a CCL repair, and has really poor social skills. She also doesn’t understand consent, as she continued to make adjustments on my dog after I told her to stop. We are traveling nurses and have been to countless acupuncturists for our dog, would 10/10 recommend somewhere else
Oct 27, 2024 · John ThompsonI found Dr Dallas shortly after my 12 y.o papillon was diagnosed with CHF. I was sad, panicked, and unsure what to expect. Dr Dallas was excellent at talking with me and beyond helpful in educating me with his diagnosis and offered some alternative treatments. My dog wasn’t expected to live past 2021… it’s now April 2022. 🙂 her continued support gives me hope and comfort. HIGHLY recommend. The appointments and costs are beyond worth it.
Apr 02, 2022 · Kellie HarveyWhen my 14 year old Dachshund Ella had cushings disease I was looking for a gentler approach to treating the symptoms. I was lucky enough to find Dr. Kris who not only treated Ella as if she were her own, but she extended her life and made her quality of life better with herbs and acupuncture etc. I highly recommend Dr Kris and her practice. I have continued to see her with my other pup and another rescue dachshund. He also had some acupuncture for his back. No white coats or scary metal tables! Just gentle music, and a doctor that gets on the floor with the dogs and really sees them!
May 20, 2021 · Melanie HerterDr Kris is a true healer. My kitty not only suffered from nerve pain in her hind legs but depression over losing her lifelong mate. After just a few sessions with Dr. Chris, our little girl was so much happier and was walking so much better. It's like we got her back. We go now every five weeks and each trip is a wonderful day out for us. I can't say enough about acupuncture for pets and Ancient Arts Acupuncture.
