They know our Jeffrey well and are always glad to see him when he goes for his beak, nails and feather trim. Yes, we do recommend them!
May 28, 2023 · Dusty Treese - PoustI had an appalling experience today with this veterinary clinic. I do not normally leave reviews unless the situation calls for it. Today was that day. I have a ten year old kitty who was diagnosed with diabetes about a year and a half ago. Today I had his yearly check up and it started as usual with an assistant (not sure of the proper term?) coming in to ask questions. As I was answering some questions I had told her that I have done a bit of research and decided to switch my cat to a 100% wet food diet. She then told me I should switch back to dry food and I told her that was not an option. She told me I should be bringing my kitty in for weekly blood testing, I then informed her that I could not afford to do that but I have been testing at home. She seemed a bit annoyed and I informed her that I wasn’t trying to be oppositional or undermine them, just that I have done a lot of educating myself on the subject and I had questions. She then left the room to get the actual vet for his check up. When the vet and tech came back, they were obviously both a bit annoyed and the vet asked a few questions, which I answered, and then said “ok, when you give the numbers we’ll move forward” I replied with “what do you mean? Are you approving his (kitties) insulin prescription?” Her reply was “when you give the numbers” me, not know what that meant, said “so you are denying my cats life saving medication?” Her reply was “it’s that or the frucosamine” not even sure if that’s the right word as I have no clue what that meant. I then told her “I need his medicine” then her reply was “that sounded very aggressive, have a good day sir” and walked away with absolutely no explanation, no real communication, and no prescription for my sick cat. Bewildered, I walked my kitty out to my car with my girlfriend, who was present for every single word and action. I briefly spoke to her as we tried to make sense of what had just happened. I decided to go back in and try and to get some type of answer as to what was going on. As I went in, I was very rudely addressed by the woman at the reception desk and told that I would need to find a new veterinarian office as I was “aggressive” and “denied treatment and recommendations”. I then asked what treatment I denied and they said the frucosomine (or whatever they called it) I then, once again stated that I didn’t even know what that meant and that I never denied anything. After being talked over and undermined repeatedly by this person at the desk, I said I would very gladly find a new vet but I needed the insulin for my cats health because they refused to approve the prescription so I could buy online. They did agree to sell me a bottle, which I purchased at the ridiculous local vet mark up of almost 50%. I then asked what I owed for the visit and they said there would be no charge for the visit. I insisted on paying the visit fee as I knew from the experience that I didn’t even want to deal with them claiming I walked out without paying after all that. All in all a disgusting experience that in my opinion ended up being more about pride and profit over the actual good health of my best friend who has been a feline patient there for over 7 years. They should be absolutely ashamed of themselves. I was warned not to go there years prior. Lesson learned, glad it wasn’t at the cost of my kitties life.
