While we were there, all was well, and the doctors seemed to know what was going on. My larger dog ate a tick and flee collar, and per ASPCA poison control, we took him into the emergency vets due to symptoms. Upon x-rays, they induced vomiting and were able to get a small piece of the collar out. Though, they did not xray my pup after. They sent him home for mentoring. 1 1/2 days later, my dog has complete neurological issues. He couldn't get off the couch or walk up and down our 2 step porch. We ended up re-calling poison control as well as taking him up to the Annapolis emergency vets. They found 10inches of the collar in my dogs stomach. And only a small piece passed into this Colan. We spent $600 at the Huntingtown hospital now to repeat the same process at Annapolis for pieces missed. Annapolis took x-rays BEFORE AND AFTER. To make sure my dog was okay. Save your time, money, and your sanity for your loved furbabies! Huntingtown vets blamed my dog for "not following by the rules." Whatever that may mean. Don't waste your time. Go up to Annapolis. Might actually cost your pets their life. (Photo shown before is the MISSED collar pieces)

Their experienced veterinarians and support staff are trained to handle a wide range of emergencies with compassion and expertise. The clinic is equipped with advanced medical technology and facilities to ensure that your pet receives the best possible care when it matters most.
One of the standout features of APVES is their commitment to clear communication and personalized attention. Whether you're dealing with a minor emergency or a critical situation, the team at APVES ensures that you are kept informed every step of the way. Their goal is to provide not only medical care but also emotional support during what can be a stressful time for both pets and their owners.
Customer feedback highlights the dedication and professionalism of the APVES team. Many pet owners praise the clinic for its prompt response, thorough treatment, and compassionate care during difficult times. For example, one customer shared how the staff went above and beyond to ensure their dog received the necessary care after ingesting a toxic substance. The team at APVES worked closely with poison control experts and provided detailed updates throughout the process.
However, it's important to note that not all experiences have been positive. One review expressed dissatisfaction with the clinic's handling of a similar situation involving a dog who ingested a flea collar. According to this account, the treatment at APVES did not resolve the issue fully, and the pet owner had to seek additional care elsewhere. While this perspective is included for transparency, it is essential to recognize that veterinary medicine involves complex decisions and outcomes can vary based on individual circumstances.
Despite this isolated concern, the majority of reviews highlight the positive experiences at APVES. The clinic's ability to provide emergency care in a calm and professional manner has made them a reliable choice for pet owners in need. Their focus on both the health of the pets and the emotional well-being of their owners sets them apart in the field.
If you are ever faced with an urgent veterinary situation, remember that APVES is here to provide critical care when your pet needs it most. With a dedicated team, advanced facilities, and a commitment to excellence, they stand ready to assist you and your furry companion through any emergency.

Nov 18, 2023 · Lee BaileyAlthough I hated the reason why we had to go to APVES, the staff and vets were amazing. They took care of our dog, were kind and professional, called us with updates and answered our panicked questions when we called. When it was time to decide how to move forward, they helped us make a decision that was best for our dog, and reassured us that it was the right one. When we had to say goodbye to our sweet boy, they made a comfortable room for us to be with him for as long as we wanted, and again reassured us that this was the right thing. I hope I never need to go to an emergency vet again, but if I do, it will definitely be APVES.
Feb 13, 2022 · Amanda KnoblochI was a very worried new cat mother. He had diarrhea for days and couldn't get an appt with my regular vet. I called for info and spoke to Barbara who was so sweet and helpful. I took Dave the cat in and he was seen pretty fast. He was given an extentsive exam. Because of covid I had to wait in my car. I understood their concerns and didn't mind. The doctor called me and assured me he would be fine. We started the meds and the next day he was better. A lot of vets (including my regular vet) do not consider diarrhea an emergency. They totally relieved my mind . Dave and I think allied partners are wonderful.
Jan 02, 2021 · Shirley ShoopGreat service, open 24hrs, friendly staff, wonderful vets, and all at very reasonable prices. My dog got his nail caught in our deck and needed immediate vet attention. I called them and gave our basic info so they'd know what to expect. They took him back as soon as we got there, checked him out, and told me what the plan was. By the time I had done checkout, he was taken care off with meds and a cone. Total visit lasted less than an hour. So good to know they are there if we need them!
Sep 10, 2017 · Jenn RiceOur dog was bitten by something (we suspected snake) at 7:30 on a Monday. Our regular vet was closed but said in case of emergency, call Allied Partners. I did, and the woman on the phone was calm, kind and reassuring. We are in St. Mary's County-nearly 50 minutes away-and my husband rushed our dog Lilly there. Once in, she was seen quickly. The staff was exceptionally kind and caring and Dr. Huwe made sure to be upfront about charges as everyone worries about 'emergency' services. (We sure did). We could NOT have been more pleased with the service, the care, the recommendations and the PRICE. We walked out of there with bloodwork done, an exam, medicine that was administered and medicine that was prescribed for pain for SO MUCH LESS than I expected!!! She WAS bitten by a copperhead, and it could have been so much worse. Not that we wouldn't do anything for our pets when they're sick, but the reality is that a regular vet exam costs me hundreds of dollars--exam, bloodwork, etc. so I was terrified of what an 'emergency' exam would run. Worth EVERY penny, and I'm so glad that they do their best to give compassionate care with the understanding that pet parents are already heartbroken to be in emergency, so they are as gentle with pricing as they can possibly be. Top-notch care. MASH is their surgical unit; I was confused at first, but it's all the same clinic and they're FANTASTIC. Thank you!
