Affordable Veterinary Care Center

This is a little bit of a late review but we’ve use Affordable with our dog Stormy her entire life. Stormy had an inoperable tumor on her skull and when it was her time, the vets and vet techs were the absolute best. They were completely compassionate and professional. One of the vet techs (I’m terrible with names) remembered Stormy and cried with us. We were a mess and they walked us through everything and gave us the time we needed. They were wonderful. Even a few weeks later, we received a condolence card from Affordable signed by those who helped us. We will never forget the kindness and sincerity. Thank you so much.

They will force you to pay for an exam if you go for any reason.. and then never give the exam. This last time I went was a disaster. I had three dogs and none of them could get any of their names right..which they have 3 simple names. They first had me weigh my dogs by myself, and did not even have update it in their system according to the paper work they gave me.. they had me wait half an hour every time they left the room.. would only be in the room thirty seconds at a time. They had no record of past history, had me go to my car to get the proof of the history I had so they could update their system.. they admitted that they have made me pay for extra shots in the past I did not need to give my dog.. I had to tell the vet what I needed treatment for because even tho she checked my one dogs ears she didn’t notice the other dogs were the ones that needed medication. They had me filling out paperwork for only one dog (which they tried to sneak a thing that gave them rights to steal my dogs rights to photos to use for advertisement where they give out my personal info without telling me..) they never checked that paperwork or any of the paperwork I never signed saying they could use certain treatment on my dogs. Now I was sure to ask and to make sure each cost ahead of time. Which they kept changing and increasing even tho it should have been way less since they didn’t actually do half the things I came there for that they initially quoted me on.. They gave me attitude when I asked why the antidote to something was less expensive then the preventative to it.. trying to say I was a bad pet owner for asking..when I went to pay they tried to charge me a hundred extra dollars.. I told them I was only paying what they quoted me because I was really insistent on knowing the price before.. for an affordable vet they took my whole paycheck for things that weren’t needed.. they kept changing why they had an extra 100 which makes it a scam they do.. even told me it was because I had to make new appointment when I “left” I told them I never left you just never came into the room.. because even tho I booked 6 appointments for 3 dogs and they made me wait to come in because they had someone in the vets when i came the whole time they dealt with other people who came after me before dealing with me..(she also tried to act like this was why they were charging me for an extra appointment because all the time they took from me..) they tried to charge me a checkout fee because when they had me go put my dogs in car, and get the paperwork, so they could update their system.. they tried to blame it on the medication that they quoted me 6 times.. they eventually called the owner who admitted that they scammed me before making me pay for vet exam that they never did. So I finally got the ok to leave paying what I was quoted and agreed to.. I left out alot of the mess because I had to wait to calm down they had me so upset. Looking for a new vet, and you should too. If you want to wait for 3+ hours, pay everything you have, get scammed, and have your pets not cared about, then stay with this one..

I called about getting my cat spayed, because they advertised on their site "low cost/affordable spay/neuter programs" and was told by the receptionist the quote they are told to give out is $500 to $1,000 "but it's never a thousand!" Who is that affordable or low cost to? False advertisement if I've ever seen it.

This place is a joke. I chose to come here because its close to home and they advertise affordability, but they are definitely not affordable and they do not clean the rooms. Very unsanitary and it seems like the staff also doesn't keep up on hygiene. I would not bring your pets here. Very unprofessional. You can here the staff gossiping from behind the doors as well. I called a few other vet offices and spoke with receptionists that were much more knowledgeable and professional. Convenience is not worth the unprofessional and unsanitary quality that this place offers. Shame on management.

PLEASE read this review before you bring your pets to this Vet. I STRONGLY advise anyone NOT to trust this vet like me and my family has for the past 7 years. It is very difficult for me to write this review and I honestly do not know where to begin since I still cannot process that something like this could happen. 02/28/25- our 8 month old, perfectly healthy, Shihtzu had her spaying procedure and the routine surgery ended tragically. Doctor: Brian Cummings Anesthesia Technician: Petrina Costanza We brought her in at 8am and were told that she would be finished relatively early due to having only 2 surgeries scheduled for that day. We didn't get any updates until we took it upon ourselves to call around 2pm. We were told that the surgery went great, but that Dr. Brian Cummings was a little concerned because she would not stand on her feet, they said they could monitor her at the clinic for a couple hours or that we could monitor her at home. We decided to pick her up around 4pm and her condition still did not improve.When my husband arrived, our poor girl was just lying on her side, she was breathing hard, her tongue was sticking out, her eyes were frozen. Dr. Cummings told him that he had no idea why she was not getting up. That sometimes, if the spine is damaged during the operation, it can happen, but that they were not even close to her spine during the procedure. He recommended to either take her to an emergency vet or to monitor her at home unless something changed throughout her behavior. On the way home, 20 minute drive, Koko was yelping from time to time. Once she got to our house at 5pm, we placed her on the floor on a mat that the vet gave us and she still would not stand. She started uncontrollably screeching and moving her paws back and forth. When we looked into her eyes, she had a greyish cloud and that is when we knew that something was not right. At 6pm we decided to call a Pet Urgent Care to see if they would be able to take her. We arrived around 6:30/7pm and they took her immediately due to her condition. When they examined her, they said they didn't know why she wasn't waking up, and that they wanted to monitor her overnight. Her CBC came back completely normal that night. They stated that some dogs just take longer getting back to themselves after anesthesia. The next morning when we called for an update they told us she has not improved and that they would like to see her CBC from before the surgery. We had everything sent over and they concluded that her blood results were completely normal. They checked her kidney and liver levels as well from before and those were normal. When we called Affordable Veterinary Care to get her medical records sent to them, CHRIS HAHN, the technician, stated word for word “I have worked here for 12 years and something like this happens every ten years.” We are not sure what he meant by this sentence but it completely rubbed us the wrong way. The urgent care that Koko was currently at wanted to keep her for another 12 hours, which was until 10pm on Saturday, the day after her surgery. They called us around 2pm on Saturday and said they did not know what else to do, that she was not responding and that they recommended either euthanizing her or transferring her to another hospital.
