WB is one of the cleaner dog parks, which is a definite plus. This is due in large part to the dog owners who keep a close watch of their pups. This park, though medium to small, is well-maintained. There are three areas. One for small dogs. Another area for large dogs that can be separated by a fence. Every so often, this bigger section is closed off to let the grass revive after a rain or maintenance. There are water fountains, a few berms, or mounds topped by fake grass. Otherwise, the park is all natural turf that is in good, green shape despite all the wear and tear from dog use. There are large stones provided as benches but few covers from the sun. So, be prepared with hat and sunscreen. The park tends to get busy after five and around dusk, at least in the summer when temps are more tolerable. Compared to other fenced dog parks, WB is very good. The metal gates to enter/exit the park are heavy metal and function well. The perimeter fence is 6ft high enough to secure all dogs. Some parks like the Cedar Park dog park on New Hope has a 5 ft fence, which I think is a bit too low.

WB MUD Dog Park provides several key services and amenities that enhance the experience for all users:
- Multi-Area Off-Leash Play Spaces: The park features three distinct areas. There is a dedicated section for small dogs, ensuring a safe and comfortable environment for smaller breeds. Additionally, there are two areas for large dogs, which can be separated by a fence. This flexibility allows for better management of dog interactions and occasional closures of one large section for maintenance or grass revival.
- Water Fountains: Essential for keeping dogs hydrated, especially during Austin's warm weather, the park is equipped with water fountains. This convenient amenity ensures that pups can easily quench their thirst during playtime.
- Waste Stations: To maintain the park's noted cleanliness, dog waste stations with bags and disposal bins are readily available. This encourages responsible pet ownership and helps keep the grounds pristine for everyone.
- Natural Turf and Berms: The park boasts "natural turf that is in good, green shape" for running and playing. Additionally, it features "a few berms, or mounds topped by fake grass," providing varied terrain for dogs to explore and enjoy.
- Heavy-Duty Gates and Fencing: The park is secured with "heavy metal" gates for entry and exit that "function well." The perimeter fence is a "6ft high" metal fence, offering ample security to "secure all dogs," a notable feature compared to some other local dog parks.
These services collectively contribute to a well-rounded and user-friendly dog park experience, emphasizing safety, cleanliness, and the natural enjoyment of the outdoor space.
WB MUD Dog Park's appeal is significantly boosted by its distinct features and highlights:
- Exceptional Cleanliness and Maintenance: A standout characteristic, consistently praised by users, is the park's cleanliness. This is a direct result of both diligent maintenance efforts by the MUD and the responsible behavior of the dog owners themselves.
- Well-Maintained Natural Turf: Despite constant use, the park's "natural turf that is in good, green shape" provides a pleasant and healthy surface for dogs to run and play on, contributing to a more natural and comfortable experience than parks with less greenery.
- Flexible Multi-Section Design: The presence of "three areas," including a dedicated small dog section and a large dog area that can be split, offers superior control and comfort for dogs of varying sizes and social preferences. The ability to close off a section for "grass revive after a rain or maintenance" demonstrates proactive upkeep.
- Secure and Robust Fencing: The 6-foot-high perimeter fence and heavy-duty metal gates provide excellent security, giving owners peace of mind that their dogs are safely contained within the off-leash areas. This is a critical safety feature.
- Varying Terrain with Artificial Berms: The inclusion of "berms, or mounds topped by fake grass," adds an element of fun and varied topography for dogs to explore, climb, and play on, enhancing their physical and mental stimulation.
- Community Vibe during Peak Hours: The park "tends to get busy after five and around dusk, at least in the summer when temps are more tolerable," indicating a vibrant and social atmosphere during these times, perfect for those seeking community interaction.
- Limited Obstacles (A point of consideration): While praised for its open space, one review noted a lack of "many obstacles for the dogs to play on." This means the park leans more towards open running and socialization rather than agility training equipment.
These features combine to create a highly functional and enjoyable dog park that caters to the practical needs and recreational desires of Austin's dog owners.

Aug 19, 2024 · Carolyn YThis is a really nice dog park with a lot of space for dogs to run around. I like that some areas are separated incase there’s any dogs that may not be as social. My biggest complaint is there isn’t many obstacles for the dogs to play on. Other than that the park is beautiful. Recommend it
May 20, 2025 · Aidehn GWhen I tell you my dog and I love this park! She had so much room she didn’t know what to do with her self! She played & had so much fun. Who ever is behind this park I can tell they really love dogs just as much as I do if not more🥰
May 30, 2025 · Naahwah Napash3Not only does it smell like pee, but every time I go my dog gets bullied. Biting at her feet, chashing her down to try and mount her, and one time when we came I noticed she had a bloody bite in her ear. I tried to go different hours to see if there's a better times and still no. Some owners need get their dogs under control.
Apr 21, 2025 · bree RainaWhat a beautiful neighborhood dog park. It’s always well-maintained. If I had an issue here it would be that I just wish there was a little more seating and a lot more shade. Can’t fix Texas weather though.
