Nice park right off I93 on Intervale Rd. Large and small sections. Someone left lots of balls to share. Thank you. Only recommendation is to bring some bug spray if you are allergic to deer flies.

Welcome to Terrill Park Dog Park

For dog owners across New Hampshire, especially those in and around the state capital of Concord, finding a safe, spacious, and engaging environment for their furry companions to exercise and socialize off-leash is a significant priority. Nestled conveniently in Concord, **Terrill Park Dog Park** stands as a beloved and well-utilized resource, offering a dedicated haven where dogs can run freely, interact with their peers, and burn off energy in a secure setting. It's more than just a fenced-in area; it’s a vibrant community gathering spot where dog lovers connect, and their pets experience the joy of unrestricted play.

Terrill Park Dog Park is a testament to Concord's commitment to providing excellent public spaces for all its residents, including those with four-legged family members. The park is a key part of the larger Terrill Park, an undeveloped 21-acre park on the banks of the Merrimack River that the city is looking to transform. The dog park itself is notably maintained by the Pope Memorial SPCA, highlighting a community-driven effort to ensure its quality. Whether you have a lively Labrador or a petite Pomeranian, this park offers distinct zones to ensure a comfortable and safe experience for every dog, reinforcing its status as a vital amenity for Concord's thriving dog-owning population.

Location and Accessibility

Terrill Park Dog Park is conveniently located at **7 Manchester St, Concord, NH 03301, USA**. Its strategic placement right off I-93 on Intervale Road (which Manchester St connects to) makes it exceptionally easy to reach for residents not just from Concord, but from surrounding towns across New Hampshire. The park's accessibility is one of its major advantages, minimizing travel time for busy pet owners.

Plenty of parking is immediately adjacent to the double-gated entrance, offering direct and easy access to the park. There is also additional parking just a short distance down the road, ensuring that even on busy days, visitors can typically find a spot without much hassle. This abundance of parking is a significant plus, especially for those traveling with multiple dogs or carrying supplies. Furthermore, the park is noted as being wheelchair accessible, making it inclusive for all members of the community. Its integration into the larger Terrill Park, which includes a paved multi-use trail along the river bank, adds to its overall appeal as a destination for both canine exercise and human recreation.

Services Offered

Terrill Park Dog Park is designed to provide a comprehensive and safe environment for off-leash dog activity. While it doesn't offer commercial "services" like grooming or obedience classes, its infrastructure and community support provide invaluable amenities:

  • **Off-Leash Play Areas:** The core "service" is the provision of a spacious, fully fenced area where dogs can run, play, and interact freely without leashes. This freedom is crucial for a dog's physical exercise and mental stimulation.

  • **Separated Play Zones:** A standout feature, the park boasts two distinct, fully fenced sections: one large area for bigger dogs and a separate, smaller area specifically for small dogs. This separation is highly appreciated by users as it ensures that dogs can play safely with others of a similar size and energy level, preventing potential conflicts and ensuring comfort for all.

  • **Agility Obstacles/Equipment:** Each section of the dog park is equipped with various obstacles and "dog exercise centers," providing opportunities for mental stimulation and physical challenges beyond just running. These features encourage interactive play and can help in skill development.

  • **Waste Bag Stations:** The park generally provides poop bags on-site, facilitating immediate and responsible cleanup by owners. This amenity is essential for maintaining cleanliness and hygiene within the park, contributing to a pleasant experience for all users.

  • **Carry In/Carry Out Policy:** The park operates on a "carry in/carry out" policy for dog waste and personal trash. While this means no public trash cans are available for dog waste, the provision of bags is a service that supports adherence to this important rule, ensuring the park remains clean.

  • **Seating for Owners:** Benches are available throughout the park, offering comfortable spots for owners to relax, observe their dogs, and socialize with other members of the dog-owning community.

Features / Highlights

Terrill Park Dog Park is highly regarded by New Hampshire locals for several key features that make it a favorite destination for canine fun:

  • **Dual-Zone Design for Safety:** The separate, fully fenced areas for large and small dogs are consistently highlighted as a major benefit. This thoughtful design allows dogs of all sizes to play comfortably and safely, reducing stress for both pets and their owners. The double-gated entrances further enhance security, preventing accidental escapes.

  • **Ample Space for Play:** The large sections provide plenty of room for dogs to run, sprint, and expend energy. This spaciousness is particularly appreciated by owners of high-energy breeds who need significant room to roam.

  • **Shared Toy Collection:** A unique and beloved feature, as noted by customer reviews, is the presence of a collection of shared balls and toys. This community-contributed amenity adds to the fun, ensuring that even if an owner forgets a toy, their dog can still enjoy active play.

  • **Easy Access and Parking:** Its location right off I-93 and the availability of immediate, ample adjacent parking are significant advantages. This makes spontaneous visits or planned outings hassle-free for residents from Concord and beyond.

  • **Maintained by Pope Memorial SPCA:** The fact that the dog park is actively maintained by the Pope Memorial SPCA underscores a commitment to animal welfare and ensures a level of care and oversight that benefits all users. This partnership highlights a community dedication to keeping the park a valuable resource.

  • **Opportunity for Socialization:** The park serves as a bustling social hub where dogs and their owners can make new friends. This regular interaction is vital for canine socialization and for building a strong local pet-owning community.

Promotions or Special Offers

As a public dog park managed by the City of Concord and maintained by the Pope Memorial SPCA, Terrill Park Dog Park does not offer commercial "promotions" or "special offers" in the retail sense. Access to the park is generally free for all users.

However, the intrinsic value and "promotion" of the park come in the form of its free accessibility and the ongoing maintenance and community support it receives:

  • **Free Access to a Premium Off-Leash Space:** The primary "offer" is the provision of a free, well-maintained, and secure environment for dogs to play off-leash. This is a highly sought-after amenity for pet owners, especially in urban or suburban settings.

  • **Community Events and Gatherings:** While not directly organized by the park management, local dog groups and informal gatherings often take place at Terrill Park Dog Park. These can be considered a "special offer" of socialization and community engagement for both dogs and their owners. Local residents can often find information about these meetups through online forums, social media groups, or local pet-related community calendars.

  • **Educational Initiatives (via Pope Memorial SPCA):** The Pope Memorial SPCA, responsible for the park's maintenance, may occasionally offer educational events or workshops related to dog behavior, training, or responsible pet ownership. While not directly tied to park access, these initiatives provide added value to the dog-owning community.

Users are encouraged to check with the Pope Memorial SPCA or local Concord community groups for any announced events or specific initiatives related to the dog park.

Anytime I can let my dog off leash to play with other dogs in a safe fenced in area is a 5 star experience for us. This is the first dog park we’ve been to that has two separate areas, one for small dogs and another for large dogs. Plenty of parking is immediately adjacent to the double gated all dirt pens. More parking just down the road

It wasn't open yet due to the mud, but it was a nice little walk

Small and well maintained dog 🐕 park. The dogs 🐶 I observed were having fun running around and chasing tennis 🎾 balls being thrown for them. Doggie bags for when Fido has to go are provided. A water 💦 fountain 🚰 is also available.
