4.0

Monticello Dog Park is a solid spot for dog owners in the area. The park features two separate areas: one for large and any-sized dogs, and another for small dogs. The small dog area isn’t very big but works well for smaller breeds, while the large dog area is spacious and ideal for active pups. There are plenty of trash cans and provided bags for cleaning up, which most owners do a good job with, though you might see the occasional leftover tennis ball in the small dog area. The park is relatively clean—I’d rate it a 7/10—with some areas for improvement. Water bowls are available, but they can be a bit unsanitary at times, so bringing your own water is a good idea. Seating is available for owners, which is a nice touch. Overall, it’s a convenient and enjoyable place to bring my dog, and I’d recommend it to others!

Promotions or Special Offers

As a public dog park managed by Fairfax County Parks and Recreation, Monticello Dog Park does not typically offer commercial "promotions" or "special offers" in the traditional business sense. Access to the park is generally free and open to the public, representing a valuable community amenity funded by local taxes. The primary "special offer" of Monticello Dog Park is its consistent provision of a safe, well-maintained, and accessible off-leash environment.

However, Fairfax County Parks and Recreation, along with various local pet-related organizations and community groups in the Fairfax area, may organize pet-friendly events throughout the year. While these events might not be held exclusively at Monticello Dog Park, they often take place at other county parks and are promoted to the broader dog-owning community, including Fairfax residents. These could include adoption events, dog training demonstrations, pet festivals, or community clean-up days at various parks.

To stay informed about any such community-driven "special offers" or events that could enhance the dog park experience, locals are highly encouraged to visit the official Fairfax County Park Authority website, particularly their "Dogs of Fairfax County" and "Park Events Calendar" sections. Local Fairfax community social media groups or neighborhood associations might also post information about informal gatherings or local pet-related initiatives that could involve Monticello Dog Park. This dog park is fantastic! It's very spacious and fully gated, providing a safe environment for the dogs. I love that they have separate areas for small dogs and big dogs. There’s even a water fountain for the dogs with a bowl. Lots of parking spaces as well. It's a great place for dogs to run around and have fun!

Basic gravel pit park for pups. Holds 32 dogs, but also has a separate pen for smaller dogs in case you're not into big/small socialization. Water is turned off until spring, so bring your own h20. No interior features like south run park, no shade in summer, benches to sit on perimeter. Lots of parking and kiddie park right next to it.
