Welcome to Military Trail Dog Park
Hello, Florida dog parents! If you're looking for a dedicated and often tranquil spot in Miami for your furry companion to enjoy some off-leash playtime, Military Trail Dog Park is a destination you'll want to explore. Nestled in a convenient part of Miami, this park offers a secure and peaceful environment for dogs to run freely and socialize. We understand the importance of finding a safe and comfortable space for your four-legged family members to exercise and thrive, and Military Trail Dog Park is designed to provide just that for our local pet community.
Introduction / Overview
Military Trail Dog Park is a public off-leash dog park located in Miami, Florida, providing a dedicated space for canine recreation. It's often described as a "quiet park" with "few people," offering a more serene alternative to some of Miami's busier dog parks. The park's design is thoughtful, featuring "fenced divided areas where dog can be loose and safe" for both large and small dogs, a crucial aspect for ensuring comfortable and appropriate play for all sizes. While one review highlighted a temporary concern about dog waste not being picked up, indicating the importance of owner responsibility, the overall sentiment points to a "beautiful and very peaceful" environment. It serves as a vital amenity for local residents whose "dogs living in spaces with no backyard" can truly benefit from dedicated off-leash exercise. This park focuses on providing a secure and natural setting where dogs can expend energy and interact with their canine peers, contributing positively to their well-being.
Location and Accessibility
Military Trail Dog Park is situated at 825 NE 89th St, Miami, FL 33138, USA. This address places it within the Miami Shores area, a pleasant residential part of Miami, making it quite accessible for locals in this neighborhood and surrounding communities. The park is often described as being "sitting right on the shore's edge" (though the dog park itself is fenced, the larger Military Trail Park might be near the shore).
Accessibility is generally good, with a "small gravel parking area, south side, that connects to a dedicated dog park by a paved pathway." This indicates that while parking might be limited, it is available and conveniently located near the dog park entrance. The park's location also offers the advantage of being part of the larger Military Trail Park, which features "winding footpaths, benches, and a fenced-off dog area" allowing for a broader outdoor experience where dogs can be walked on leash outside the designated off-leash zone. The ease of access makes it a practical choice for daily visits for many Miami residents.

Apr 19, 2025 · Tete PageWhen I see multiple owners walking pit bulls in that park and one owner was carrying a long pole with him, I would not recommend the park. It looks great but I think it is dangerous.
