Look no further than Lagoon Park Dog Park in Vacaville, a standout destination designed with dogs and their owners in mind. This article provides a comprehensive overview of what makes Lagoon Park Dog Park an exceptional choice for locals seeking a vibrant and safe environment for their beloved pets.
Nestled within the larger Lagoon Valley Park, this dedicated dog area offers a refreshing escape from the hustle and bustle, providing ample space for dogs of all sizes to enjoy off-leash freedom. It's more than just a patch of grass; it's a community hub where dogs can burn off energy, practice their social skills, and make new friends, all while their owners connect with fellow pet enthusiasts. With its thoughtful design and commitment to pet wellness, Lagoon Park Dog Park truly embodies the California spirit of outdoor living and community engagement.
Lagoon Park Dog Park is conveniently located at 4627 Peña Adobe Rd, Vacaville, CA 95687, USA. Situated just off Interstate 80, it offers easy access for residents throughout Vacaville and the wider Solano County area, as well as those traveling between Sacramento and the Bay Area. The park is part of the expansive Lagoon Valley Park, which spans hundreds of acres and includes a variety of recreational opportunities.
For those driving, ample parking is available within Lagoon Valley Park. It's important to note that there is a $5 daily parking fee. While the kiosk does not provide change, visitors have the option to pay using a credit/debit card or exact cash. Additionally, the PARK MOBILE APP (Zone #2789) is available for convenient payment. For frequent visitors, purchasing a $25 six-month pass, which can be upgraded to an annual pass for an additional $25, offers a cost-effective solution. Pedestrians, equestrians, and bicyclists can enter the park without a permit or fee. The location's proximity to major roadways makes it an accessible and attractive option for dog owners looking for a hassle-free outing with their pets.
Off-Leash Play Areas: The park features designated off-leash areas, allowing dogs to roam and interact freely in a secure environment. According to city information, there's a 30,000 square foot fenced area for larger dogs and a 10,000 square foot area for smaller dogs. However, some recent customer reviews indicate that the dog park might be one unified area for all dogs, so it's always good to observe on arrival.
Waste Bag Dispensers: To ensure cleanliness and hygiene, the park provides readily available waste bag dispensers, encouraging owners to promptly clean up after their pets.
Dog-Friendly Water Fountains: Hydration is key, especially in California's sunny climate. The park is equipped with water fountains designed for both dogs and their human companions, ensuring everyone stays refreshed during their visit.
Seating Areas: Tables and benches are strategically placed throughout the dog park, offering comfortable spots for owners to relax and supervise their dogs.
Recently Renovated Facilities: The dog park has undergone recent updates, including improved walkways and tables, enhancing the overall experience for visitors.
Spacious Fenced Areas: The generous size of the off-leash areas, whether separated by size or combined, provides ample room for dogs to run, fetch, and play without feeling confined.
Scenic Surroundings: Being part of Lagoon Valley Park, the dog park benefits from a very pretty landscape, offering pleasant views and a natural setting for your dog's exercise routine. The larger park boasts rolling hills, stately oak trees, and a shimmering lagoon.
Concrete Walkways: The inclusion of walkways makes navigating the dog park easy and clean, even after rain, addressing a common concern in other dog parks where muddy conditions can be an issue.
Shade Trees: While future plans include larger shade structures, the presence of existing shade trees provides some relief from the sun, which is particularly welcome during warmer California days.
Integration with Lagoon Valley Park: Beyond the dog park, Lagoon Valley Park offers extensive multi-use hiking, equestrian, and biking trails, allowing leashed dogs to accompany their owners for longer walks and adventures. This makes it a great destination for a full day of outdoor activity.
Proximity to Other Amenities: The larger park includes features like a 100-acre lake for non-motorized boating, a 27-hole disc golf course, and rentable picnic areas, providing additional recreational options for families.
While Lagoon Park Dog Park itself does not typically offer specific promotions, visitors can take advantage of cost-saving options for parking within Lagoon Valley Park. As mentioned, the $5 daily parking fee can be offset by purchasing a $25 six-month pass. This pass offers significant savings for regular visitors, effectively reducing the daily cost for those who frequent the park. After the six-month period, the pass can be upgraded to an annual pass for an additional $25, making it an even more economical choice for dedicated dog owners who plan to make Lagoon Park Dog Park a regular part of their routine. This tiered parking system serves as a built-in "promotion" for loyal patrons.

Mar 09, 2025 · TC AndersonVery pretty landscape. The dog park is one area for all dogs. Not separated on size like some other dog parks. They do have poop bags. They have water fountains for the dog and you. There is a $5 fee for daily parking. Pay kiosk does not give change. I don't know I would recommend going to this park if you have a dog or would just like to walk around or watch birds.
Dec 31, 2018 · Erik CI love this dog park ! There are benches to sit on , water for the dogs , pooper scooper, and it’s a decent size . All sized dog park which I like. You can go on a hike after. You don’t have to pay to get in for now but it says they are putting in new pay machines.
