This playground is pretty standard, if a little run down. There are no bathrooms, which is wild given how much is here. In addition to the two playgrounds (one for little kids and one for big), there's a pump track, running track, walking trail, and big field. How is there no bathroom??

Services Offered

Hilliard Comstock Northwest Community Dog Park provides a range of services and amenities specifically tailored to facilitate safe and enjoyable off-leash play for dogs. These offerings prioritize convenience and the well-being of canine visitors:

  • Separate Play Areas for Small and Large Dogs: A key service, the park features distinct, fenced areas to accommodate different dog sizes. This allows smaller dogs and puppies to play safely without being overwhelmed, while larger dogs have ample space to run and interact with peers of similar size and energy levels.
  • Fully Fenced Off-Leash Enclosures: Both the small and large dog sections are fully fenced, providing a secure environment where dogs can exercise and socialize freely without the need for a leash, promoting their natural behaviors.
  • Agility Equipment: The park offers various "agility structures." These features provide opportunities for dogs to engage in stimulating physical and mental exercises, adding an element of fun, challenge, and training to their playtime.
  • Water Fountain: A "dog drinking water station" is available on-site, ensuring that dogs have access to fresh water for hydration during their play sessions, which is crucial, especially in California's climate.
  • Dog Waste Bag Dispensers and Trash Cans: To encourage cleanliness and responsible pet ownership, the park provides dog waste bag dispensers and trash receptacles, making it convenient for owners to clean up after their dogs.
  • Mixed Ground Cover (Lawn and Wood Chip Areas): The park features a combination of "lawn and wood chip areas" across its approximately 0.5 acres of fenced space, offering varied textures for play and movement.
  • Shaded Areas: Reviews mention the presence of "shade" and a "lovely combination of sun and shade," indicating that there are natural or constructed elements providing relief from the sun, which is important for both dogs and owners.
  • Restrooms for Humans: While some older reviews for the broader park mentioned a lack of restrooms, more recent information explicitly states that the dog park has "restrooms" available, which is a significant amenity for visitors.

These services collectively contribute to a functional and well-equipped environment for canine recreation in Santa Rosa.

The park is very nice. Tons of family playground equipment and open grass to have fun in. The dog park Is mehhh. There is more dirt than grass. It does have a water faucet which was lovely especially on hot days. It's fully fenced as well. One large size and small park side.

The people and pets we met here were really nice, my wife and I like it when. Owners are attentive to dog behavior. The park itself was decent size. Google maps doesn't take you to this place so look up Northwest Community Park for parking direction and then it's a short walk. There was no a whole lot of amenities here. Gates are broken so make sure that you use the chain or dogs can get out.
