Huge park with the children’s playground upfront and lots of grassy area next to the baseball field. The small dog park is tucked away in the back. It’s a bit of a walk, but a nice one. If there’s no one else here, you may be able to take your dog off leash (not recommended ) and play fetch with them in the park.

Services Offered

Guenther Willows Dog Park, as a public amenity, focuses on providing a well-equipped and secure environment for off-leash dog play. While it doesn't offer commercial services like grooming or boarding, its provisions are designed to meet the essential needs of dogs and their owners:

  • Fenced Off-Leash Areas: The primary service is a secure, fenced environment where dogs can legally and safely run and play without leashes. This crucial feature allows for vital exercise and mental stimulation.

  • Size-Separated Play Zones: Guenther Willows Dog Park features separate fenced areas for dogs of different sizes. There is a specific section designated for smaller dogs, ensuring they can play comfortably and safely away from larger, more boisterous canines. The park also accommodates larger dogs in their dedicated section.

  • Water Fountain: A dog fountain is available to keep pups hydrated during their playtime. While some reviews mention it can create a muddy mess, its presence is vital for pet welfare, especially on warmer California days.

  • Shaded Seating Areas: Both the small and large dog areas include shaded seating, such as benches and picnic tables, allowing dog owners to relax and supervise their pets comfortably while escaping the sun.

  • Pet Waste Stations: To promote a clean and hygienic environment, the park is equipped with pet waste stations, including poop bag dispensers and waste receptacles, encouraging owners to pick up after their dogs.

  • Dog Exercise Equipment/Agility Course: The park reportedly includes some dog exercise equipment and an agility course. These features add an interactive element, providing opportunities for dogs to engage in more structured play and improve their agility.

Features / Highlights

Guenther Willows Dog Park stands out with several key features that make it a desirable destination for dog owners in the Murrieta area:

  • Dedicated Separate Areas: The park's provision of distinct fenced areas for small and large dogs is a significant highlight. This thoughtful separation helps ensure a safer and more enjoyable experience for all dogs, catering to their different play styles and energy levels.

  • Ample Shade: The presence of shaded seating areas is a crucial feature, especially during Southern California's sunny weather. This allows owners to comfortably supervise their pets while staying out of direct sunlight, enhancing the overall comfort of the park.

  • Integration within a Larger Park: Being part of the much larger Guenther Willows Park means that visitors have access to a wide array of other amenities. This includes a children’s playground, baseball fields, basketball courts, picnic areas, and walking trails. This allows for a comprehensive family outing where everyone, including canine members, can find something to enjoy.

  • Walking Trail Access: The park features a 0.3-mile paved loop trail, which offers a pleasant on-leash walking option for dogs and their owners, ideal for a leisurely stroll before or after a more vigorous off-leash play session.

  • Fenced Security: The dog park area is fully fenced, providing a secure environment for dogs to play off-leash without concerns of them wandering off. This is a fundamental aspect that contributes to owners' peace of mind.

Took the dogs here for the first time and there were no other dogs there for them to play with… a little disappointing. The dog fountain causes a muddy mess, so bring towels to dry off your dog if they like to play in the mud.

Beautiful are for your fur baby. Not too big but plenty of room. Parking is limited and playground area for dogs is far off in the corner. Be sure to lookout for falling baseballs as you make your way through the parks field to get to the dog area. Beautiful view.
