Fantastic dog park. Very clean and lots of space for your dogs to run. It is NOT FENCED!!! So please make sure your dogs have good recall. The entrance is a road only big enough for one car so be careful coming and leaving.

It's more than just a dog park; it's a natural oasis designed for adventurous pups and their responsible owners.

Glencarlyn Dog Park has earned its reputation as a fantastic destination for its blend of open space and natural features. It’s a testament to the idea that off-leash areas can be integrated into beautiful parkland, providing a more stimulating and enriching experience for dogs than a simple fenced enclosure. For many locals, it's a regular part of their dog's routine, offering a vital outlet for exercise, mental stimulation, and socialization in a less confined setting. The park's emphasis on good recall and responsible pet ownership creates a community of like-minded individuals who share a love for the outdoors and their furry friends.

Location and Accessibility

Glencarlyn Dog Park is conveniently located at 301 S Harrison St, Arlington, VA 22204, USA. This address places it within the larger Glencarlyn Park, a vast natural area within Arlington. While not far from the urban bustle of Arlington, its location offers a remarkable sense of natural escape, tucked away near a wooded area and a rocky creek.

Accessing the park requires a bit of awareness, as the entrance to the dog park section itself is a road only big enough for one car. For those seeking to extend their visit, the park is also easily accessible from the extensive trail network within Glencarlyn Park and the broader Four Mile Run system. This blend of dedicated off-leash space and extensive surrounding parkland makes Glencarlyn Dog Park a highly accessible and versatile destination for local dog owners looking for a natural outdoor experience. It's truly a hidden gem that feels much further from the city than it actually is.

Incredible spot for well-behaved dogs with a great community of owners, as well. The best park about the dog park is the creek the pups can play in. It has multiple depths, so if you're pup isn't a strong swimmer, it can still play. Have a reactive dog? There is PLENTY of room along the stream to take your pup to play away from stimulus. If there are too many people and you just need a minute, there's a great trail right behind the creek where you can take your pup for a walk until the traffic settles. And if you want to walk a little more, the rest of the park is huge and easily accessible.

“Amazing Dog Park for Water-Loving Pups!” Glencarlyn Dog Park is a hidden gem for dogs who love to explore and splash around. The park offers a beautiful, natural setting with plenty of space for off-leash fun. My dog absolutely loved playing in the creek, which is perfect for cooling off on a hot day. The park is well-maintained and has a nice balance of wooded trails and open spaces for running. It’s a great place to let your dog be free and enjoy nature. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a safe and clean spot to bring their pup!

I love the spot, I think they can do something with all the stones in the middle of the dog park so the dogs can run freely.
