Promotions or Special Offers

As a public park operated by the City of Lakewood, Fort Steilacoom Dog Park operates primarily as a free community amenity for all to enjoy. Therefore, it does not typically offer commercial promotions, discounts, or special offers in the traditional sense of a private business. Its immense value to the community comes from its open access and the high quality of its facilities.

However, the park often serves as a focal point for various community-driven activities and events that can be considered informal "offers" in terms of added value. These might include organized dog walks, meet-ups for specific breeds, pet adoption events hosted by local shelters, or even dog training workshops conducted by community groups. While these are not official promotions from the park management, they enrich the park experience and provide opportunities for local dog owners to engage further with the pet community. We recommend checking the City of Lakewood Parks & Recreation website or local Lakewood community event calendars and social media groups dedicated to dog owners for information on any upcoming gatherings or informal events at Fort Steilacoom Dog Park. The City of Lakewood also occasionally seeks volunteers for park monitoring, which can be a unique way for locals to give back to this beloved space.

We got to meet all kinds of doggie friends! So nice they have the small dog enclosure for the newbies like us to get acclimated. Lots of fun for my 3 mini schnauzers Collin, Cooper and Chloé.

Best dog park in Tacoma plenty of room to roam around for the dogs. Nice trails if you don't want to be in the off leash area

Great dog park. It's large with plenty of space for everyone. There is a spot to practice agility, trees and benches to enjoy some shade, and a watering hole for the dogs to get a drink. The entire park is fully fenced and has a small dog area for the little guys. The owners are responsible, and the dogs are friendly. There is plenty of parking and a restroom near the main parking lot. If you want to go straight to the large dog portion, look for Fort Steilacoom Large Dog Park in Google and it will take you a more direct route to that end of the park.
