Services Offered

As a public dog park managed by the City of Urbana, Fido's Field Dog Park provides a comprehensive set of amenities designed to facilitate a comfortable, safe, and enjoyable experience for dogs and their owners. While it doesn't offer paid services like grooming or training, its provisions cover all the essentials for a top-tier dog park:

  • Two Separate Fenced Areas: The park is thoughtfully divided into two distinct, fully fenced sections. One side is specifically designated for small dogs, providing a secure and less intimidating environment, while the other is for medium to large dogs, offering ample space for more vigorous play. This separation enhances safety and comfort for all canine visitors.
  • Agility Equipment: Both the small and large dog sections are equipped with various basic agility elements. These features provide mental and physical stimulation, allowing dogs to run on ramps, navigate tunnels, and enjoy other obstacles, adding an exciting dimension to their playtime.
  • Water Fountains for Dogs and Owners: Fido's Field provides dedicated water fountains, ensuring that both dogs and their human companions have access to fresh drinking water, especially crucial during the warmer months to keep everyone hydrated.
  • Shaded Benches and Covered Areas: The park features nicely shaded benches and potentially a covered area (as mentioned in reviews for other quality dog parks, this is a common feature for comfort). This provides comfortable spots for owners to sit, relax, and supervise their dogs while offering protection from the sun.
  • Poop Bag Dispensers: Visitors consistently note that the "poop bag dispensers never empty," indicating a strong commitment to cleanliness and providing convenient resources for owners to clean up after their pets.
  • Spacious Running Areas: With a total of 2.4 acres dedicated to off-leash play, there is "lots of room for my big dog to run and play" and "plenty of room for running" in both sections, allowing dogs to exert their stamina fully.
  • Double-Gate Entry: For enhanced security and to prevent accidental escapes, the park utilizes a double-gate entry system, ensuring dogs are safely contained within the enclosures.

I've been bringing my GSP here since I got him. It's a wonderful place for socializing. There are two sections, one for small dogs and one for medium to big dogs. Both sides have basic agility equipment, plenty of room for running, and water in the hot months. I've never seen the poop bag dispensers empty, and the benches are nicely shaded. By far this is the best dog park I've been to in Ohio.

Great dog park with plenty of running room for all shapes and sizes. The only downsides are that the restrooms in the park close when it's colder out and some owners don't pick up after their dogs, so he careful while running through the park.

It's an awesome dog park with the agility equipment, water fountain with dog bowls, and plenty of supplied poo bags in two stations in both large and small dog enclosures. I would have given it 5 stars if all patrons actually used the conveniently supplied poo bags!

It's a wonderful place for our canine friends to release pent-up energy and socialize with other canines in a well kept, clean environment. Strongly recommend bringing you dogs for some fun in the sun and to play on the agility equipment or maybe just some fetch.
